Lineker's Left Foot Posted 16 September 2012 Share Posted 16 September 2012 Just wondering what do people think on MJ and could he be our 'defensive midfielder' that we all seem to crave?? For me personally, I've not really rated him, but think he made some sort of difference when he came on today in the Wolves match. I am also possibly basing my opinion of him on the fact that I don't really notice him in games, but what do others think??
Mark_w Posted 16 September 2012 Share Posted 16 September 2012 He hasn't played enough football for any of us to make a judgement yet in my opinion.
RowlattsFox Posted 16 September 2012 Share Posted 16 September 2012 I thought he did ok today, kept the passing ticking over 2nd half but he is not a dominant player so he's never going to look like he's doing anything too impressive. We missed King second half, going forward, Drinkwater and James are too similar especially when chasing the game. James would be decent in a 3man midfield away form home. marko Posted 16 September 2012 Share Posted 16 September 2012 Keeps things ticking over. Available a lot of the time and brings others into game with solid, if unspectacular, passing.
Corky Posted 16 September 2012 Share Posted 16 September 2012 Give him a few more games to really judge.
red5 Posted 16 September 2012 Share Posted 16 September 2012 Not impressed myself, he and his m8 de-laet are not as good as players who we already had, hope they get better
dannythefox Posted 16 September 2012 Share Posted 16 September 2012 Cant make my mind up really but he played well today but Its should of been Danns coming on imo its crazy not to have that lad on the bench.
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 16 September 2012 Share Posted 16 September 2012 Was very impressed by him today. De Laet seems to be the weak link. I'd drop him for Burnley and stick St Ledger back in the side.
Mack Posted 16 September 2012 Share Posted 16 September 2012 James brings no positives to the side for me currently.
Milton Keynes Fox Posted 16 September 2012 Share Posted 16 September 2012 Doesn't deserve the 'oh he's shit' he's getting cause he hasn't played enough

We need an experienced, physical presence to complement the two youngsters and stop them being bullied by the likes of Henry and Doumbia on a regular basis. I'm not convinced whether Danns will be the answer, but I've seen enough during the past couple of seasons to know that Wellens definitely won't be. Maybe a swoop into the loan market will be needed? Tommy G Posted 16 September 2012 Share Posted 16 September 2012 He's about 1 and a half stones overweight and looks like he is running through sand

Dr The Singh Posted 17 September 2012 Share Posted 17 September 2012 Early to say, but he's not a defensive midfielder, he's a box to box player that keeps the ball moving!
Babylon Posted 17 September 2012 Share Posted 17 September 2012 Thought he played quite well when he came on, put in some good tackles, chased back, played the ball forward nicely and kept possession quite well. Far too early to have any real opinion on the lad though.
RonnieTodger Posted 17 September 2012 Share Posted 17 September 2012 Thought he disappeared for large parts of the game yesterday, but when he was on the ball he looked very good.

Captain... Posted 17 September 2012 Share Posted 17 September 2012 Thought he played well when he came on Yesterday, whether he is the answer to the imaginary defensive midfielder crisis that some believe exists, I don't know, I've not seen him enough, but he looks like a tidy compact player, similar to Drinkwater, stuck a couple of good challenges in, and kept the play moving forward, but no real variation on what we already have in King and Drinky. Father Ted Posted 17 September 2012 Share Posted 17 September 2012 I thought he did pretty well yesterday when he came on. Kept things simple and simply fed the players who could create the chances. Still looks lightweight but is a neat player.
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 17 September 2012 Share Posted 17 September 2012 The lad has started 2 games so far so needs time to find his feet, he's young and learning but clearly a talented player that was highly thought of at Man Utd. I think he's a long term replacement for Wellens
m00nie Posted 17 September 2012 Share Posted 17 September 2012 when the commentators said Leicester have made 2 subs already i was thinking for ages who the other sub was as could only think of dyer/knocky.. eventually it clicked that king had gone off and james was on... took that long as i couldnt really remember him doing anything. foxfanazer Posted 17 September 2012 Share Posted 17 September 2012 Don't really notice him to be honest. Could be a good or bad thing
flowwolf Posted 18 September 2012 Share Posted 18 September 2012 Average just like most of Pearson's signings this season. He did nothing of note and does not look capable of being a key player for us. God it's also depressing and predictable.
absolutelegend Posted 18 September 2012 Share Posted 18 September 2012 He hasn't done anything of note in his 4 games, so not impressed so far. However, realise he has to be given time.
