FuriousFox46 Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 I know we have Bolton first but here is a preview (of sorts) of Leicester's game against Forest next Saturday http://thechriswhitingshow.wordpress.com/2012/11/04/el-clasico-me-duck/
Voll Blau Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 Summed up the rivalry pretty well to be honest. "It's Forest and Derby, you're all on your own" has to be one of the most embarrassing chants in football.
Dickov22 Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 I'd say majority of Leicester fans view Derby as our main most hated rivals. Not Forest?
FuriousFox46 Posted 4 November 2012 Author Posted 4 November 2012 I'd say majority of Leicester fans view Derby as our main most hated rivals. Not Forest? Largely depends on where you live and your age but it seems Forest are our main rivals; http://www.footballfanscensus.com/issueresults/Club_Rivalries_Uncovered_Results.pdf http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/70098-leicesters-biggest-rivals/page__st__100 http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/69215-who-are-our-main-rivals/page__st__20
Yojoe36 Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 Summed up the rivalry pretty well to be honest. "It's Forest and Derby, you're all on your own" has to be one of the most embarrassing chants in football. It's not just us though. Clubs like Middlesborough are in the same situation, when the North-east is more about Newcastle and Sunderland. Best to stick to the M69
Mark_w Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 I'd say majority of Leicester fans view Derby as our main most hated rivals. Not Forest? Of our local rivals Forest are the one I hate the most, in fact the only one I particularly dislike at all.
seenitall Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 This is weird, but how many of you would be proud of the E Mids if City, Derby and Forest were in the Premier League Top 6?
Oadby Fox Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 This is weird, but how many of you would be proud of the E Mids if City, Derby and Forest were in the Premier League Top 6? I would be very proud if LCFC made it in to the top six, as for the rest i would not feel any difference at all.
FuriousFox46 Posted 4 November 2012 Author Posted 4 November 2012 This is weird, but how many of you would be proud of the E Mids if City, Derby and Forest were in the Premier League Top 6? I'd be proud of us not the other two. I want us all back in the Prem though
Voll Blau Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 It's not just us though. Clubs like Middlesborough are in the same situation, when the North-east is more about Newcastle and Sunderland. Best to stick to the M69 Derbies named after roads are invariably toss. For me Forest and Derby will always be our main rivalries. I'm not bothered by Coventry, although I accept it's probably different if you're from the Hinckley/Rugby/Nuneaton area.
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 I'd say majority of Leicester fans view Derby as our main most hated rivals. Not Forest? Defo Forest mate! Everyone I know classes Forest as our main rival. I'd say more people class Cov as more of a rivalry than the Sheep Shaggers
FuriousFox46 Posted 4 November 2012 Author Posted 4 November 2012 "Its Forest and Derby, we're all on our own" They're oddly protective of each other...
Bert Posted 4 November 2012 Posted 4 November 2012 I'd say majority of Leicester fans view Derby as our main most hated rivals. Not Forest? Don't say that you'll get in trouble.
RedHux Posted 5 November 2012 Posted 5 November 2012 Derbies named after roads are invariably toss. I mostly concur, but for a brief while calling Forest/Derby the A5-2 derby was especially pleasing.
ozleicester Posted 5 November 2012 Posted 5 November 2012 When i left long (long) ago, i always felt that Derby were the team i disliked most. On my return in 10/11 i was able to see all three (Forest, Cov and Derby) both home and away and i think that in terms of atmosphere and general "feeling".... Forest felt like the bigger games and the ones i enjoyed and wanted to win more! I think its always going to be more about where in the county you are...as the closer to the other team, the more likely we are to come across their scummy fans
THEFOXES1884 Posted 5 November 2012 Posted 5 November 2012 Be a good game this as both teams really need to win in more ways than 1. "UTF"
The Year Of The Fox Posted 5 November 2012 Posted 5 November 2012 I'd say majority of Leicester fans view Derby as our main most hated rivals. Not Forest? Correct
StanSP Posted 5 November 2012 Posted 5 November 2012 Liked the whole preview of your blog, Chris. And thanks for letting me have my say!
Raj Posted 5 November 2012 Posted 5 November 2012 used to enjoy looking forward to the Forest game but of late seems like florist have gained abit of a yoof BNP attatchment. Lat years mid week cup game a vast amount of em walked towards KP singing Allah is a peodophile...abit uncalled for...
jonthefox Posted 5 November 2012 Posted 5 November 2012 Just suppose cov suddenly got some big rich backer and found themselves in the same position as say cardiff (big ask i know), but they would soon become our main rivals.
Fox92 Posted 5 November 2012 Posted 5 November 2012 I dislike Coventry the most out of all three, but I would like to see Leicester, Coventry, Nottingham Forest and Derby all in the Premier League again.
