Guest Col city fan Posted 8 December 2012 Posted 8 December 2012 I too thought the atmosphere today was shocking, even when we went one up. The crowd number was near to what I'd predicted but, despite starting third today AND leading, the place during most of the first half was like a fookin morgue.
Aus Fox Posted 8 December 2012 Posted 8 December 2012 Pathetic ... all our resources and we can't beat one of the weakest teams in the division and at home! Again we are not clinical enough. With this team we are heading for the play offs, need to strengthen asap imo. Oh no! Not the play offs!!! That would be a disaster wouldn't it!! Think of the embarrassment!
Guest Col city fan Posted 8 December 2012 Posted 8 December 2012 Who's assuming we're a force to be reckoned with and "putting away" teams We're having our best season for a whole ****ing decade & people still aren't happy because they think we have an absolute right to be in the top 2. I'm as disappointed as anyone when things do go swimmingly well, but FFS majority of people on here need to get real and think about where we've come from this season over what's preceded it for the past decade (it's not like we're Cardiff who've been at the top of this table for what seems like forever) & even in outspending the rest of the division added together over the previous 2 seasons to this one saw Sven's teams finish a bloody disappointing mid-table, not once but twice, whereas now we're involved in a genuine promotion season and unlike before it's not a false dawn. Is a draw at home disappointing? Yes Is it worth the anger & bitterness that many morons are putting on it? No In the end that point could tip us into 6th.... or maybe, just maybe 2nd - but lets enjoy the ride along the way, it's the best one we've had for a very, very long time. so kick the cat/dog in frustration... stop assuming we have a 'right' and move on Do you ever change your tune? That was two points dropped due to daft errors. Pearson said it, we all saw it, accept it and move on.

I'd love to get in the auto's and still reckon we might but the playoffs is a massive improvement on what has been for a very long time. There can't be a more set of fickle fans in the country. Beggars belief
ealingfox Posted 8 December 2012 Posted 8 December 2012 On the bright side, Jamie Vardy, Scores for Leicester, Makes me happy, Makes me feel this way!
Aus Fox Posted 8 December 2012 Posted 8 December 2012 This is just a pointless cliche, we should be beating Barnsley. If we'd have played at our best we would have. We obviously had a mare. I'd argue the people who showed disrespect to the opposition and thought it would be an easy game are some of the players, just as was the case when we were 2-0 up against Derby and could have easily paid for it. We're aware we will have bad games, this was one of them. A pointless cliche? Results show us time and time again there are no easy games Ipswich beating Millwall 3-0 today crystal place drew with Blackpool derby beat Leeds. A cliche maybe but it's true. There will be more games people think we should win were we lose or draw but there will also be tough games we will win

DJ fookin Campbell with another 2 I believe..
kingfox Posted 8 December 2012 Posted 8 December 2012 Knee Jerk reactions again, yes it was incredibly poor today, was a shit game all round, both teams were rubbish. At the end of the day, the team have results like the one we have had today, they always happen with Leicester, and today was just one of those days. We didn't dominate as we should of done, 10 minutes we were on fire then it went down hill from there. The first goal we conceded was absolutely poor, I advise people not to watch it on SSN or Football League show tonight, it's cringe. Whitbread, Morgan and Schmeichel were all at fault for the goal it was a disaster. Second goal was down to poor marking again, from a cross/corner can't remember what it was, but still the marking was poor. Even though the second half weren't much better, Drinkwater upped his game and played very well and the same with King, both were poor in the first half and looked scared to challenge. The subs made the difference today, Vardy was shocking though until he scored did nothing again, but all credit for the goal because he has got us out of jail today. Futacs for me looked decent, won nearly every header and is capable of putting his body around and causing problems. It was a awful performance by a lot of players, Knockaert despite the goal and a few tricks here and there was rubbish again, Waghorn was awful, Nugent was awful, Dyer was poor and the defence seemed a bit all over the place, De Laet got beat too often and his crossing today weren't much better either, while Morgan didn't look as assured as he usually is until the final 10 minutes. We get these results, and it's just best to move on, we got them at home last season funnily enough against Barnsley and other teams like Millwall. There is always room for improvement, and today's performance showed there is still work to do.
Ely fox Posted 8 December 2012 Posted 8 December 2012 Don't you think that by now we should be right up there with all the money we've spent??? your deluded! Instead of falling off the pace and drawing at home with Barnsley. Personally i think Pearson is tactically inept.
Mark_w Posted 8 December 2012 Posted 8 December 2012 I too thought the atmosphere today was shocking, even when we went one up. The crowd number was near to what I'd predicted but, despite starting third today AND leading, the place during most of the first half was like a fookin morgue. The Barnsley fans outsung us and there were practically none of them there. Can't believe that was enough to fill four coaches. Anyway enjoyed 15 minutes of that game, the less said about the rest the better. No need to panic though, we're still in a pretty good position.
Bert Posted 8 December 2012 Posted 8 December 2012 ****ing referee! Cost us 2 points, penalties turned down, free kicks turned down! Twat. Atleast we salvaged 1 point though! Getting ridiculously boring now. We all know we're not allowed to question the ref. Anyway, only ourselves to blame. Taking our foot of the gas after we're 1-0 up with 80 minutes to play is arrogant, and just criminal at any level. Two avoidable goals were conceded, both times the ball wasn't cleared properly, and why Kingy headed the ball out for a corner I'll never know. It was a frustrating watch, things weren't going our way and we were reverting to long ball which wasn't working. Fair play to the lads for digging in and getting the equaliser but this for me is 2 points dropped. Makes it worse considering the games we have coming up. Can't say anyone really played, a lot of huffing and puffing which was disappointing.

However when we are up there around 3rd- 5th in the league I do think that we can "expect" or at least hope for results against presumeably lesser teams. Calling me a moron speaks more about you than me - I was actually trying to argument why we should have "put them away". In my opinion the history doesn`t count. What counts is the present situation and what to expect from the team. I am not bitter in any way just disappointed in seeing us stumble time and time again. Your suggestion to "move on" might to a certain degree apply to yourself - but I enjoyed our constructive debate.
ScouseFox Posted 8 December 2012 Posted 8 December 2012 You can all dress it up with whatever clichés and small bits of positivity if you want, but we just failed to beat Barnsley at home. That's not good enough.
Steam Posted 8 December 2012 Posted 8 December 2012 Again, it's an old cliche, there are no easy games of football, one or two fans seem to think that we have a god given right to beat a team like Barnsley. They may be down there, but they still have the ability to score goals and hurt teams like they hurt us today. I am gutted we didn't win, but we had the lions share of the game, and with a bit of luck infront of goal, we would have easily beaten them. We are playing some of the best football in the league, but all teams have sticky spells, Cardiff are due one in the next month or so, just when we start coming out of ours. The lack of faith shown by some fans disappoints me, by all means be disheartened by the result, but be thankful for what the team has accomplished so far and the potential we have within the squad. I will finish by saying, you can't win every game.
cc_star Posted 8 December 2012 Posted 8 December 2012 Do you ever change your tune? That was two points dropped due to daft errors. Pearson said it, we all saw it, accept it and move on. Show me where I said it wasn't? I was talking about this air of superiority most of Foxestalk has when we've done less than **** all for year after year to earn it. I just can't stand this divine right that people on FT have for us to be walking the league, if the last 2 seasons didn't teach idiots on here anything then the last 10 years should, a point against a struggling side at home is shitty... but the way some carry on you'd think we were in for another Sven-style 12th place finish. and move on? ...That's what I said Bore off
BunkMoreland Posted 8 December 2012 Posted 8 December 2012 Negatives: a poor result in a game we should have won Positives: we're not peaking too early. Results like this can provide ammo for a late drive into the autos when teams above might start getting complacent.
Ely fox Posted 8 December 2012 Posted 8 December 2012 The difference is Cardiff go to Blackburn and win 4-1 and we play at home to Barnsley and very nearly lose!! How is that in any way good news???
Matt Posted 8 December 2012 Posted 8 December 2012 Getting ridiculously boring now. We all know we're not allowed to question the ref. Anyway, only ourselves to blame. I was actually being serious. Proof (If I ever needed it) that I can't win either way, If I berate people for slagging the referee off and not looking closer to home I get moaned about, If I blame the referee I get moaned at!

Most posters have said we expected to beat a poor Barnsley team. That's it, end of Look at the pre-match Scoreline prediction thread... You never offer the other side of the argument was my point, instead choosing to call anyone a 'moron' if they dare to be anything other than hugely positive. You're like a broken record mate...
Guest safetosurfthisbeach Posted 8 December 2012 Posted 8 December 2012 There's not a lot to worry about here. We went ahead early, then let 2 silly goals in because we were so complacent - I think NP can cure the players of that tendency.
Kitchandro Posted 8 December 2012 Posted 8 December 2012 A pointless cliche? There will be more games people think we should win were we lose or draw but there will also be tough games we will win Of course it's true, but what's your point? Yes if you take games lightly, teams will punish you - you have to work hard and play to your potential. But that's hardly reason to say we shouldn't expect to beat Barnsley at home. It's not an excuse that this is a tough and unpredictable league, we should have done better today. If we'd have played to our best we would have won.

Proof (If I ever needed it) that I can't win either way, If I berate people for slagging the referee off and not looking closer to home I get moaned about, If I blame the referee I get moaned at! I also thought you were being sarcastic. When it has been partly the ref's fault in the past you have laughed it off and said it's all our fault. I'm not sure the referee was to blame for the two goals we conceded today
Soar Fox Posted 8 December 2012 Posted 8 December 2012 Couldn't make it down today due to various reasons but just saw the goals on SSN. Well taken goals from Knocky and Vardy. But I have to say Barnsley's goals were poor, Kasper should have just got rid off it instead of playing around with it at the back. Barnsley's second why didn't Drinkwater jump? He was on the post in a good position if he jumped that ball wouldn't have gone in.
Gubbins Posted 8 December 2012 Posted 8 December 2012 I just can't stand this divine right that people on FT have for us to be walking the league, I dont think many people feel we have divine right to walk this league. We DO though have a divine right to have a moan when our team puts in a shocking performance against a crap side, regardless of where we finished at any point over the last decade!
