Oi!

You don't get off that bloody lightly...

7-0 you said...

lol

:D He wasn't the only one getting carried away in the scoreline prediction thread tbf.

If nothing else, this match provides the more reserved amongst us with an ironclad piece of evidence to reference next time everybody logs on predicting a rout.

It gives me no pleasure to say that before I get a load of stick - just making a factual observation. :(

Barnsleh are awful, after 20 minutes I thought we were going to rip them to bits cos they were all over the shop but we completely took our foot off the gas and invited them right back into it.

A point's better than nowt though I guess and it could be an important one come May but they're games we should be winning, I mean come on they brought about 10 fans!

The January transfer market will be a good indicator, if we can get the right players in I fully expect us to get automatic promotion 2nd place is up for grabs and the playoffs is a lottery we could do without we will buckle under the pressure in true City style.

Well, disappointed with only getting a draw out of this. And that against Barnsley at home.

I knew it could be difficult, but thought with the run we're on, we could sort of brush them aside.

At least the side showed some character and fought back to sneak a draw.

The team in itself is good enough for a top-half finish (even finishing in the Top 6 comes May), BUT... this current Leicester side needs to work on the complacency issue.

Can't just start off well only to let it slide once more.

Hopefully, this result will act as a wake-up call for more professional behaviour.

Looking at the bright side, I'm pleased with a 2-2.

When you look at Swansea for example, who won 2-0 at Arsenal last week only to lose 3-4 at home to Norwich.

Football's just a very funny discipline.

One win everyone thinks we are going to romp the league, one bad performance and everyone starts to panic.

Yes it wasn’t a great performance but we still picked up a point, which come the end of the season could be vital.

We are in a best position coming in to the Christmas period since we got back in the championship! We have a young lean squad that can grow together and get better, Reading were 10th this time last year with only 30 pts.

City fan are never happy, we moan about everything……….

I was referring to how quickly we reverted to hoof ball. Futacs did okay when he came on.

I don`t think we reverted to `hoof` ball. What people need to understand is that no team will come and roll over for us. Barnsley`s management team did their homework ( also known as their job! ). They employed the right tactics to help stop us playing:

* slowed the game down whenever possible

* Virtually cut Knockaerts supply off, causing him to have to come inside all game

* Took Dyer out of the game for long periods as they had the 3 man midfield

* Pulled everyone back when not in possession leaving Wes, Konch, De Laet and Whitbread with little option but to chip a hopeful ball forward ( resulting in the head tennis ).

What we need to be is quicker at adapting to how teams are playing against us. It took until the 75th minute to change things, and what a difference that did make,

We didnt play `hoof` ball when Futacs came on, but we did use set plays and throw ins brilliantly. This is about adapting to the team we play. We had more chances to score in the last 7 or 8 minutes than in the whole game.

I can`t believe that anyone would criticise this result. We won`t steam roller every team. A sign of a good team is when you are not playing well you sneak a draw.

And as for the guy on the radio who said we need to put Logan in...................Can we transfer the guy to Coventry!

It's not one bad performance, it's a number of games where we have simply not competed....... :/

As I said earlier we lack consistency and 'edge' when the going gets tough.

People on here can see that and there is no doubt that opposition managers can see it too, it is a cause for concern if we are serious about promotion....... :o

At the end of the day we nearly lost yesterday and last season we would of lost it. We picked up a point playing bad lets kick on and take 3 points off Millwall.

Hopefully other teams don't do what Barnsley did, or I think we will struggle.

At Millwall away you cannot play weak players they are a physical side and we will get beaten if we play the likes of King so James has to start for me, drop Dyer on the bench and play our best two wingers in Marshall and Knockaert, I would be inclined to start with Vardy alongside Nugent as well.

I agree when teams set out to bully us and get in our faces, like Palace, Leeds and Barnsley we struggle.

We lack a leader in the midfield when the going gets tough, hopefully NP will address this!

I think consistency is key but we have improved on that front compared to the last two seasons! We have a number of young players who are still learning, Knockheart, Waghorn et al

I consider this team/squad to be very much a work in progress!

This is what I would play for Millwall.

Schmeichel

De Laet, Whitbread, Morgan, Konchesky

James

Drinkwater, King

Waghorn, Nugent, Dyer

Unfortunately I think if we don't play three in midfield we will get overpowered again, Millwall are incredibly physical and they will get stuck in at every opportunity.

I would do the same but Drinkwater in the defensive midfielder role.

(Almost) 24 hours later, still disappointed but as some have said maybe last season we'd have lost. If someone had offered me 5th place at this point at the start of the season I'd have probably taken that.

Give Wellens a start in the midfield?

Disagree on the first point, I can't think of a single game we haven't competed, where we haven't had them on the back foot for long periods and haven't carved out enough chances to win it. (Crystal Palace maybe the exception, but we still scored one, had 2 cleared off the line and had 2 chances stopped by great keeping).

The problem is we don't keep it up for 90 minutes, in every game we seem to have a period where we switch off, some teams punish us for it, some don't, it is not a lack of ability or effort, it normally happens after we score, but sometimes we just lose momentum, or start badly, and we need to be able to make changes on the pitch to be able either regain focus, or tighten up so we don't get punished until we can see off the opposition threat and get momentum back.

What we can't afford to do is get sloppy and make basic mistakes in this period.

A question about Morgan, undoubtedly a great defender, but is he a great captain? Does he marshal things on the pitch? That is what we need, and the only person I see screaming and shouting at the players is Kasper (obviously yesterday he had to shout at himself).

We need a fall back position, because it is difficult to maintain high tempo passing and movement football, whether that is Waghorn/Vardy/Knocky dropping deeper and getting closer to the midfield, or the wingers dropping back to protect the flanks, or pushing on to stretch the defence and allow us to hit the corners with long balls. But we need a fall back position when momentum switches to the opposition, which it will do.

Don't bring Morgans captaincy credentials up!

Babylon will be on yer back faster than you can say 'defensive error'...

You get beaten if you don't play well. Simple.

If we play well, we'll win. Nothing to do with physicality, just an excuse when we don't play well.

Just a question really, he is clearly the best candidate for the job, but we seem lack someone who can get everyone else around them motivated when it goes a bit flat.

Is it just me or do we lack a couple of nasty bastads in the team?

Pearson appears to be THE tough guy at the club, but of course he's not on the pitch.

I think we play some nice football but are too 'nice' per se?

You go through our team and try to pick out any real tough guys... Just an observation on my part, maybe we don't need any?

I'd love to see a Nolan or a Derry type character in the team. I guess Wayne Brown was possibly the last one we had?

I don't see us needing a ball winner, tough tackling type, we rarely have problems in winning the ball back, where we seem to be lacking is the baility to stand up to more aggressive teams, and stop them muscling us off the ball, when push comes to shove and we have a lenient ref we need to push back and not go to ground easily, which we were guilty of a lot yesterday, a stricter ref and we would have won loads of free kicks (saying that they still gave away 16 fouls).

We don't need a Brown or a Derry we just need to stand up for ourselves more when in possession, and not wanting to point the finger, but Knocky was very guilty of this, but not the only one.

I totally agree with you re King in a match where the opposition is likely to be well organised (and Millwall under Jacket are) or physical, so yes, Drinkwater and James for me too. I do think however that Dyer is by far our best winger at the moment and certainly more effective than the other two. Knockaert despite his goal was 'all fur coat and no knickers' yesterday and contributed very little, his passing in the first half was woeful.

I actually think it is Knocky that would suffer the most against Millwall, he struggled against Barnsley because they got tight to him gave him no space and the ref didn't stop them pushing him or giving him little kicks, he got frustrated with all of that and was chirping at the ref a bit and going down a little too theatrically for my liking.

He is a talented player but he needs a bit of space to work his magic and Barnsley didn't give him any and neither will Millwall.

A fair point really, but I don't think Knocky helped himself at times. Whilst I don't know what his brief was, there were times in the first half when Barnsley clearly had two players on Dyer and it was crying out for more width on the right. Knocky meanwhile was drifting more and more into the centre all the time with no apparent purpose or effectiveness and just crowding the area. If he'd moved more out to the right he would have got the space you are on about (unless NP told him to do that of course). Delaet tried to add the width but Knocky rarely helped re cover etc when he did.

weak players you, say why not change fuctas for vardy as fuctas is a stronger player?
