SmithyFox12 Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 I don't know why so many people want to bring in players just to sit on the bench? Surely this would be more beneficial to younger players such as Panayiotou?
flowwolf Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 Not like you to pile the pressure on, and put unnecessary expectations on the lad. If he doesn't score, it's no biggie. I'm sure he'll be fully committed. Yes your right spherical, I'm sure Wood reads this forum avidly , stop the pressure Babs and stop it now before it gets to him.

Bettsj2 Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 We should be playing our own youngsters. George Taft or Karlton Watson. 😜😜😜

SmithyFox12 Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 I doubt they're currently good enough. If they were, I'm sure we wouldn't bother signing players like Keane. They need to be given a chance though. I'm sure a young academy player would rather sit on the bench of the first team, than buying someone else and telling them they're going to sit on the bench most weeks.

I'm sure a young academy player would rather sit on the bench of the first team, than buying someone else and telling them they're going to sit on the bench most weeks. We're not in a position to be giving youngsters a chance though. We've got everything to play for, we can't go taking risks at this point in the season

Fvck me glad you're not the fvcking manager!!!

foxfanazer Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 I thought the adding of the emoticons would show I was poking fun. Obv not. i understood Great news on Keane if true. Potentially our first signing of the summer if we went up (I know there's a long long way to go yet) And Fergie probably wouldn't sell

dmayne7 Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 Not if they aren't good enough we shouldn't. How do you know that they're not good enough and that other youngsters coming in will be? Keane is quality and hopefully he can deal with the mental side of such important games and perform consistently but someone like Lingard? Nothing really needs to be said does it now can the SSL lovers agree with me? About what?
AKCJ Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 99% for Keane is good enough for me. Fills me a lot of confidence does that lad. Will be a star for the national team in a few years time, no doubt.
Lambert09 Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 Players like Harry P should be tested out on loan before being chucked in the deepend. Especially considering how impatient our fans are, 2 bad performances and half our fans would want a player out
sphericalfox Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 Firstly I never said it was make or break, I said it was a huge game. If I think it's a big game then I think it's a big game, if you don't then fine. But why you feel the need to correct something purely based in opinion I don't know. I never said "make or break", "must win" or anything else similar. Secondly, why are you telling me what I was saying? I know what I was saying because I said it. I said he and we need to do better against top six teams. Then there was a full stop and I expressed my opinion on it being a big game. I in no way suggested or insinuated that one game would damage his reputation, you dreamt that up. Lastly, if some idiot thinks I'm suggesting it's make or break because I happen to suggest it's a big game, and they then somehow transfer that to the players, and them somehow thinks woods reputation is in tatters because he didn't score... Then that's the bloody idiots fault for not interpreting something quite clear correctly. Jeebus wept! Wake up on the wrong side of the bed? From your reply you'd think I pissed in your cornflakes shit on your toast, and wiped my arse on your sleeve. Yes I expressed my opinion on a definition of 'huge'. I never said, you said it was make or break did I? You're gettin your knickers in twist over nothing. If you make a statement, and someone disagrees, do you always feel the need to go on the defensive, as I wasn't attempting to be offensive. I merely was a trying to elaborate on what a huge game is for you, and how that differs to mine, and how a contingent of our fans take the same notion and if we fail to win this 'huge' game, this board, twitter, and the moan-in are flooded with 'the club is in crisis' nonsense. Now before you suggest, that I am insinuating that you fall in to that bracket. I don't. Relax.
Happy Fox Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 It is a crunch game likewise Cardiff and Crystal Palace it won't end our promotion hopes if we lose them but what these games will give us is an indication of whether we can realistically challenge for automatic promotion if we win. Come On City
SmithyFox12 Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 I just believe that the likes of Taft and Harry P should be given the chance in games against teams very low in the division. Give them 15-20 minutes at the end of each game just for the experience and to prove themselves. I'm not saying we should start them all and play them week in week out.

Come On City I think our performance against cardiff, and win at boro show what we are capable of. Our 4-0 at brizzle and 6-1 win against huddersfield also show what we are capable of, as none of the top 2 have done that this season.
