TheSomersetFox Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 What will Roman do now? Probably pay out about 30m compensation to Bayern
MC Prussian Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 Just this morning, the BBC had an article online where Guardiola states that he wants to manage in England: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21038983 Well, who knows? Maybe next year... Great move by Gayern, surprised no one else came in with a better offer. The guy's got some footballing brains.
21st Century Fox Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 Another indication of the gulf between the Prem and Bundesliga.
Happy Fox Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 Wise move by Guardiola why go to Chelsea where managerial sackings happen on a regular occurrence, he is not going to a madhouse club.
Simo86 Posted 16 January 2013 Author Posted 16 January 2013 It'll be interesting to see how Guardiola does next season. Gone will be the days of his "Pass it to Messi" team talk.
Fox92 Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 Wise move by Guardiola why go to Chelsea where managerial sackings happen on a regular occurrence, he is not going to a madhouse club. Agreed. He's isn't stupid, and moves to another big club where he can again challenge for something on the big stage.
foxfanazer Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 Really surprised by this although I think it's a good choice on his part. Will be interesting to see how he does, how hard is it to manage barca? I know that is a bit of a simplistic view
purpleronnie Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 I love it when the sky sports generation are baffled because a manager or player chooses a non premiership club.
foxfanazer Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 I love it when the sky sports generation are baffled because a manager or player chooses a non premiership club. if you're including me in that then I'm not surprised that he hasn't joined the prem, I thought he'd go back to barca
Finnegan Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 It'll be interesting to see how Guardiola does next season. Gone will be the days of his "Pass it to Messi" team talk. "Pass it to Toni."
Corky Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 He'd have been mad to turn down Bayern, looking at the position they are in now. 9 points clear, +37 goal difference. Should definitely take over the champions and possible Champions League winners.
Guest MattP Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 I love it when the sky sports generation are baffled because a manager or player chooses a non premiership club. Me too Speaking to people you would think he only choices were the Manchester clubs or Chelsea.

Should definitely take over the champions and possible Champions League winners. Surely that's more pressure taking over if they are champions. Anything other than winning either of the league or champions league and that would be seen as a failure.
1884Fox Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 Congrats to Bayern for winning the Bundesliga title next season
C-man Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 Looks like the girl on the left won... Good but safe decision from Pep. Should be able to win the league no problem, maintaining his unreal coaching record in the process. Think this is brilliant news for the Bundesliga aswell. Really starting to make a move on the Prem for number 2 now.
kingfox Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 Sky Sports jumping the gun, thinking a manager's job in England is near, but no he teased us and has opted for Germany instead. Good move, big club should do well.
Super_horns Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 Sky Sports jumping the gun, thinking a manager's job in England is near, but no he teased us and has opted for Germany instead. Maybe when Fergie goes but he wouldn't fancy Chelsea after their run-ins with Barca. Bayern is much more suited for him.
kingfox Posted 16 January 2013 Posted 16 January 2013 Maybe when Fergie goes but he wouldn't fancy Chelsea after their run-ins with Barca. Bayern is much more suited for him. Yep like I said good move.
Mack Posted 17 January 2013 Posted 17 January 2013 I cant help feeling this is a backward step for him. The Bundesliga is not the big show platform that England and Spain provide. I can see why he has done it however, Bayern are the big German fish and with Dortmund likely to break up their side and lose their coach he should have a more simple path to trophy glory. Joining Chelsea would have been looking up at Man Utd and City rather than looking down on everyone at Bayern.
