There was some impressive footage on the news this morning, it's hard to believe this has no connection to tonight's asteroid passing.

We don't see these events that often and have two within 12 hours today.

I always love how people tend to gawp at whatever world-ending scenarios rather than to panic and run for their lives.

One came over Scotland and parts of England a couple of months ago, and did no harm.

Russia were just unlucky, Brendan Rodgers probably planned it, but it failed to reach Saint Petersburg.

Don't know if this makes me a complete sicko but there was something about when the newsreader said everyone ran to the windows to have a look and then got hit in the face with glass that made me laugh.

Seriously though I would love to witness something like that. You can't help but reflect on sheer scale and majesty of the universe.

Dont remember a meteor strike in the news before in my lifetime, not on this scale anyway

Was Tunguska(?) the most previous one?

Certainly the last major one! Most of which they still cannot explain to what did the damage, some of the theories are quite amusing. Nobody visited the site for nearly 20 years!!

It is quite funny, buy also a valid lesson, don't stand too close to windows to watch a meteor, I imagine I would do the same thing if a saw a meteor hurtling to earth, run to the window to watch it, but I will remember to stand behind someone if it happens again.
