Ricky Hill Posted 1 April 2013 Posted 1 April 2013 How does it work if Pearson is sacked straight after the game, does he have to make his own way home Although isn't he Sheffield based? Surely they'd have to sack him in person tomorrow. Can't remember who it was, but a manager was sacked earlier this season and dropped off from the team coach in a service station!
lestajigs Posted 1 April 2013 Posted 1 April 2013 Just heard he is gone too, lets hope martin is interested because the options elsewhere arent particularly inspiring. Where have you heard this?
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 1 April 2013 Posted 1 April 2013 I think, in terms of football knowledge, the Thais are clueless mate. I think he'll be here till the season ends at least. Whether this is a good or bad thing, frankly, who knows. If they had any footballing savvy I think they'd have replaced him a fortnight ago. I believe you are right, but they are business men, and must surely be aware that the captain has now wrecked their ship on the rocks, and must be replaced.

Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 1 April 2013 Posted 1 April 2013 RowlattsFox - totally agree. If it was announced this week that MON was taking over, there would be an unbelievable morale boost around the club and fans. Whether it would be enough to regain a top-6 spot, for me, is irrelevant - we just need a good shake-up and I think it'd be ideal. Give him time to get to know the players and start making decisions before the end of the season on who to bring in and ship out. I've been behind Pearson right up until today but that was the straw that broke the camel's back. Utter garbage, and it's really hard to see how we can pick up the pace again with the club being so uninspired at the present. Come back MON, you the mon!
gazzer Posted 1 April 2013 Posted 1 April 2013 MON was only as good as Walford and Robertson. If they're not coming with him I think it'd be pointless
cjslcfc Posted 1 April 2013 Posted 1 April 2013 Thing is if MON came back I could see us on a Forest type run into the Play Offs. Good old Marty has been there before as well so that helps. Question is, would he come? Everything points towards not returning to a club. Who's been really successful second time round, Pearson? Some would say no. Dalglish? Keegan? etc We need to try something though. Up until today I thought we still had a chance with NP but now I really don't know. Sounds like we were shocking
Leicesterpool Posted 1 April 2013 Posted 1 April 2013 I don't think we have enough coaching staff either
iamafox Posted 1 April 2013 Posted 1 April 2013 I've supported Pearson since he came back and I admire what he has achieved in the past and is trying to achieve with us, but unfortunately for the first time I have virtually lost my confidence in him and it is a real shame that within a space of 2 months, from being 2nd to 7th, it has come to the point where the manager's position is untenable due to a recent run of poor results. I'm not saying we should sack Pearson now, but we will not get promoted whether he is sacked or not. I think it's too late to bring in another manager to turn our fortunes around, even if it's somebody of a high calibre. (You know who I'm talking about)
Legend_in_blue Posted 1 April 2013 Posted 1 April 2013 It's irrelevant calling for a change now in terms of us making playoffs. It's totally relevant to look at a change with a view to establishing a brand of football that will take us up next season however. This all or nothing approach holding onto the slim chance of us making it this season through the playoffs is no foundation for making a go of it in the premier next season. We'd be a laughing stock, losing most games. If we can't make a fist of it in this league, and lets face it the quality in this league is dire, we have no chance in the premier. Sacking him now makes sense in terms of looking to next season, but this season is a write off now imo. It has been since Sheffield Wednesday at home.
blueharmie Posted 1 April 2013 Posted 1 April 2013 So disappointing. He did so well before and on league 1. But his falling out with players is too much. I said it weeks ago Sonething is wrong in the dressing room. Lets face it the players didn't give a shit today. It's like they want him gone. Mabye the ledger stuff is a step to far. Either way we need mon or we might aswell stick with Pearson. Can he turn it round ? I don't think he can.

All teams in this league now would be relegated from the top flight. You worry about that when you get there and strengthen accordingly. What I'm certain of is that with Pearson we have no chance. Making a change might give us that chance. It might not, but it has to be worth the gamble.
Guy Posted 1 April 2013 Posted 1 April 2013 There will still be idiots defending him, surely there is no way the arrogant nomark can survive this? We never looked liked word beaters even when second and the most annoying thing for me is that I could see this coming even when he was here the first time! Should never have come back, bad bad mistake! I agree with you on the second part and there were even times during his first successful spell where we looked abysmal (the 5-1 at Forest to name a few) where we were just not at the races. His coming back here in November 2011 didn't really seem like "a good idea at the time" either, still less now after one and a half years of nothing other than a trip to Stamford Bridge in last season's FA Cup quarters, two 6 goal fests and winning five in a row!
Leicesterpool Posted 1 April 2013 Posted 1 April 2013 The only way i see us actually getting into the play offs now is by sacking the manager, the idea of MON coming in sounds exciting but without Robertson on his side, it sounds like MON is clueless. Di Matteo wouldn't be a bad call but his style of football is very defensive. I don't think Aidy Boothroyd isn't a bad call either, had problems at Cov but you have to remember he had limited funds. Got Northampton into the automatic positions in league two with limited funds, plus the same with Watford a few years ago.

I'd rather go into the premier with a brand of football that can establish you there, ala Swansea and Wigan as they did a few years back, than some attempt at signing over half a team of new players, ala QPR and struggle week after week. Who, in the current team, apart from Schmeichel, is good enough to step up? I can count three tops.

Either way we need mon or we might aswell stick with Pearson. Can he turn it round ? I don't think he can. I said this after the Sheffield Wednesday and Derby game. The players will have been fully aware of the pressure on Pearson, and the possibility of him losing his job if they didn`t perform, and they showed absolutely no sign of wanting to fight for him, and keep him in his job. That for me was very worrying, because if you don`t have the players behind you, you have no chance!
blueharmie Posted 1 April 2013 Posted 1 April 2013 I agree. I think most of the players hate Pearson to be honest. Shame in my opinion as the bloke will loose his job and he's not a bad manager IMO.
seenitall Posted 1 April 2013 Posted 1 April 2013 A whole year down the drain.....he should be sacked and given a kick up the arse as he leaves
RowlattsFox Posted 1 April 2013 Posted 1 April 2013 What are the chances of Pearson being at another Championship club next season and getting promoted
lestajigs Posted 1 April 2013 Posted 1 April 2013 A whole year down the drain.....he should be sacked and given a kick up the arse as he leaves Hahaha
Leicesterpool Posted 1 April 2013 Posted 1 April 2013 I think one or two players have questioned the bosses tactics and the ones who questioned him have been kicked out, maybe one or two players at the club are realising that the players who questioned Pearson were right. For me Pearson sounded worried in the interview and i think he knows he'll be lucky to be still in charge come saturday.
