New Apprentice Series

Haven't watched this for a few years, so I'm watching this series every now and then when I can catch up on iPlayer. It's become a lot more of a TV show than a business-based programme that I remember. Mainly through the editing or the contestants because I think the tasks are still fit for purpose

Jenny deserved to go, her cheerio speech was absolute cringe.

What a bad loser lol

I think Vana was more culpable than Jenny for losing the task but it's a negotiating task and Jenny failed there. Vana though, management was 0/10. No strategy or forward-thinking and seemed to be more reactive than pro-active.

I think the task was a bit pro-active and a bit reactive, and she was pro-active at the wrong times and reactive at the wrong times. The way she divided the products into distinct groups and wouldn't waiver from that was stupid. I honestly think if the sub-team had told her that in the process of finding one of their items, they'd also found the mirror, and the shop owner was prepared to sell that for 0.50p, she'd have said no, that a French item, you can't buy it. Stupid strategy. You have to be organised and flexible at the same time. If you pass somewhere you see that might have one of the products, you've got to be prepared to chance an arm and see if they have, and inform the rest of the team you might have something, not carry on your merry way because that product wasn't on your list.

I still can't believe the boys got away with that boat, shades of poor Felipe being lambasted for getting a skeleton. Maybe it's a race thing

Was thinking exactly the same thing. The specification was no more specific last year and this toy dinghy was no better than that skeleton. Lucky break for the team there.

Yeah, it's so subjective that the task is entirely pointless. It's essentially "Who do I want to get rid of? Ok, I'll make that team lose then".

All this "let's shake hands" nonsense is tiring. It's almost as if a sale doesn't count until it happens.

It was a pretty uneventful episode tonight. No real fights or cock ups, just down to the £££ only for a change

Selina is a bitch. Lazy, snide and hopelessly inept.

Brett... one trick pony no personality and no apparent high-end business skills

Did anyone else think the t-shirt guy will be a bit pissed off watching that back.

"I like you guys, here's a load of my stock and my chance to make a load of money at a pet fair, go sell my t-shirts."

"Stop selling the t-shirts, just sell balloons!!!"

"You pr*cks!"

I think if you'd done the exact same task, with the exact same people, a hundred times, the Scott's team would win more often than not. I thought they were very unlucky last night and were certainly less of a shambles than David's team.

But Ruth was still shit and deserved the sack.

Really? I thought David's team were the better team, they had the right approach with the products, which got them the balloons, which were so popular that is why they descended into chaos a bit. Scott's high end item should have sold more because it was a better product and had more appeal, but Ruth's sales technique and Selina's confusion over the pricing and general half arsedness cost them.

If Scott had picked Gary instead of Ruth for the high end item they probably would have won, but he had 2 dead weights selling the big ticket items  and lost out on the big selling balloons. The only thing David's team could be criticised for is not pushing the T-shirts and possibly for picking the dog beds, but they out-sold Scott's team despite them getting the cat tower.

Ruth completely useless despite all the sales tips and bravado she gave at the start. Would have preferred Selina to go because of how 2-faced and bitchy (really can't stand that) but can understand why Ruth went. If you can't sell in a selling task and selling if your forte you don't really deserve to stay.

So ****ing pleased Ruth went, couldn't stand her.

Got a lot of time for Gary, he won't win but I want him to. Scott and David are bearable, the rest are toss. Especially Elle who looks like a drawing of Charli XCX on a balloon
