Smiggy96 Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 New Cb Dawson on loan and vitor on a free, Or maybe Ed Upson from Yeovil might be worth a look at. LB Cunningham or Blackett Cm Luke Murphy from crewe or Doumbia. Winger Gary Mackay-Steven or Sako. Striker Johnny Russel Or Simeon Jackson.

Cresswell would still be the dream at LB but if he goes it'll be to the premiership. Wasn't too keen on Jackson before but I think he'd be a decent option to have with Nuge, Woody and Schlupp
ScoutMan Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 Carlton Cole perhaps scores goals at this level and is available for free. Still only 29.
Wymsey Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 Carlton Cole perhaps scores goals at this level and is available for free. Still only 29. Er..I think we are looking to decrease our wage bill, mate, not increase it.
Happy Fox Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 The return of Matty Fryatt anyone? No thanks he is no better than Nugent or Wood.
Fox92 Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 Carlton Cole perhaps scores goals at this level and is available for free. Still only 29. If we wouldn't want stupid wages, then yeah. When we played West Ham he was the best target man I've seen at this level for a long time. Held the ball up very well, not easy to knock him off the ball and will score at least 10-15 goals.
Jugsi Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 We got relegated by bringing players in that weren't better than what we had. I'd be underwhelmed to see us sell Vardy and buy Fryatt. We have a smallish squad and clearly some players to move on in Wellens, Danns, Gallagher etc. We should be looking to add some quality around the nucleus and push on for next season. I like Thomas, we lack wide players so would be a good addition. Vitor in on a free and another LB if we can shift Konch wages. Would love to see Powell on loan for the season. I'll get shot down but I think Beckford in our current side that creates chances would be a very useful player. I'd have him in front of Waggy, Vardy and Futacs. I'm not counting on losing any players we don't want to which is naive but finding two new starting CBs and a keeper for next season would be a disaster.

So you want to shift Konch's wages but you'd keep Beckford, our highest earner?
Father Ted Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 Carlton Cole was dominant for West Ham 2 years ago. Id certainly have him here.
Jugsi Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 I knew that would be shot at. I don't think we get value for money from Konch, i'd sooner play Jeff. I believe Beckford would score the goals we need with the players we now have around him, having him Nuge and Wood to battle out two spots is pretty good and all have a proven track record of scoring goals at this level. Yes he can be lazy and is overpaid but he's not the only one. Our alternative is to pay a transfer fee for a replacement because when Wood or Nuge is off form (Feb onwards) we have nothing else. Who is capable of scoring 20 goals a season, wouldn't cost much in a fee and cheaper wages than Beckford? Carlton Cole would be equal wages, Jackson hasn't played much footie, nor has Church. I wouldn't cry if Beckford went and if his wages have to go then fine, just think he could be a decent option.
simpmeister Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 Paddy McCourt on a free from Celtic anyone? Could certainly do a job and it wouldn't really be considered a risk as he could come in for nothing.

Leicesterpool Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 Why do people wanna get rid of Danns and Beckford for? How many times have with seen them this season in a leicester shirt?
Long Eaton Fox Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 Could be right about the extra million to everton - he's on 49 games played for us
dog_4 Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 danns 25k a week beckford 30 plus k a week! Where as james and drinkwater are probably on 10k a week and on par footballing wise
Jugsi Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 With the rumours Beckford cost £4m to start with that dropped to £2.5m that extra £1m on 50 games seems feasible. Somewhat changes my position on giving him another chance. If Drinkwater rediscovers his first half season form we may have a new player.

Leicesterpool Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 Wouldn't anyone like to see Wood and Beckford upfront?
dmayne7 Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 Wouldn't anyone like to see Wood and Beckford upfront? Not me
theessexfox Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 Wouldn't anyone like to see Wood and Beckford upfront? Not if playing him costs an extra million plus astronomical wages.
funkyrobot Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 Carlton Cole was dominant for West Ham 2 years ago. Id certainly have him here.Yeh he'll be a guaranteed 3 goals a season man. High wages too! Sign him up.
GingerrrFox Posted 26 May 2013 Posted 26 May 2013 Where are you getting these figures? He's spouting them out of his arse.
