pazzerfox Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Of course we are going to have to reign our spending in, it's completely unsustainable. But calling it 'Bad News' and making it out to be some sort of crisis is ridiculous. I'd be very surprised if the Thais and financial people at the club did not have a plan for us NOT getting promoted. Sure there will be cut backs and the need to get rid of big earners but I am sure we will still be active in the transfer market.

If we can get rid of the high earners, we only need to replace what we get rid of but on significantly less wages plus bring in a couple of others so we have a little more strength in depth. I think that was one of the problems this season. Big IF though.
Jace Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 When I read this originally I did get an image of Vichai going to Morrisons ATM machine and seeing a 'You are unable to withdraw any funds' message on his King Power cash card

Big IF though. the wages those guys are on (£28 grand weekly) you would have to sell to a premier team and no disrespect to our players but better players are out there for a pittance compared ? they are here for the length of their contracts imo !
Dan Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 I know Ashley isn't the sort who'd make shit like this up, it's not for definite but that does worry me regardless.
jonthefox Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Didn't know where to put this , but more bad PR for the club.RE; watford tickets.
whoareyaaa Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Financially, not getting promotion in either of the past two seasons has been disastrous. I honestly don't think we'd had a better chance to go up for years and have failed twice. I say this in all sincerity, the money thrown at this aim is completely unsustainable and I wouldn't be surprised to see us in this division for many more years. I think next season will be the best chance we have of making it out of this league, can't see the 3 coming down doing much neither the 3 coming up.
Foxes_Trust Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Offloading players on expensive contracts is going to be a huge challenge, as all clubs face the same challenge of meeting FFP targets and will not take on large wage earners So those players who really want to kick a ball, need to start telling their agents to "get realistic" about what pay can now be achieved. All clubs will face the same challenge, although those coming down from the Premiership will have the enhanced parachute payments, so as long as the clubs have wage drops for relegation in their contracts (QPR are rumoured to have messed this element up), then they will have a greater advantage
FantasticMrFox Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Top and Vichai have always travelled to Forest by train as far as I'm aware If you've ever been on a train in Thailand, you'll realise that our trains are positive luxury in comparison. However, if you've ever been to Thailand, you'll be sorely disappointed to find that your destination is Nottingham!......:-)
Tielemans63 Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Top: "Dad, we're seriously running out of money here." Aiyawatt: "Okay. Have Andrew Neville fly 8,500 miles and ask him to bring that memory stick - the one with all those perfectly emailable figures so we can have a face to face meeting about those concerns that could have easily been discussed over the phone. There must be a way we can cut costs."
Jace Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 If this is true about the memory stick then it sounds like Vichai has been taking football club ownership advice from Peter Ridsdale
Corky Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 If this is true about the memory stick then it sounds like Vichai has been taking football club ownership advice from Peter Ridsdale Next manager.
jamesmilner Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 heard theyve still ripped up the training pitches (do it every year) and renewed them for next season and did the usual spend money on the club things . the financial restraints are most probably the reason hes going over . i aint worried until i hear of redundancies etc which i doubt will happen . why spend on clappers tshirts etc if skint ? doesnt make sense ?
Rusko187 Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 I'd hazard a guess this would be more to do with budget planning and to see what (if any) investment can be made to the squad in light of Pearsons recent meeting about his plans. We will no doubt sell and it would be no different to last season but there are players on our payroll who we could do with shifting on.. Ala danns, beckford.
Deucalion Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 Chief Executive meets owners to discuss finances for the coming season shocker
Babylon Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 I know Ashley isn't the sort who'd make shit like this up, it's not for definite but that does worry me regardless. No but the person who told him could quite easily have read that shit off Bentleys and they passed it on... that's how rumours work.
Ashley Posted 21 May 2013 Author Posted 21 May 2013 No but the person who told him could quite easily have read that shit off Bentleys and they passed it on... that's how rumours work. I can assure you it wasn't taken of Bentleys Roof
Babylon Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 I can assure you it wasn't taken of Bentleys Roof And yet it's word for word almost identical. How do you know it wasn't taken off their, or the person they heard it from took it off their. Has all the hall marks of a self perpetuating rumour.

Babylon Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 Fair enough. For the record, I know you aren't the sort to make stuff or or pass on anything you didn't think was cosha... I just hear so much of this stuff I'm massively skeptical. Every other week I have mates telling me "someone who works with the youth teams knows this that and the other". Or they tell me a rumour I heard about days before from here or another site but add in, "it's from a box holder" etc etc.
Mack Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 Ex Premier League Striker for sale. Scores a few, blows hot and cold, likes a sulk, talks 'Gangsta', doesn't get on with all Managers. Can be encouraged by enormous wages 50p ovno
jock2612 Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 I thought Susan Whelan was CEO (or was on my season ticket confirmation letter), if this is as serious as some are making out it would be her not AN on his way to see the owners.AN is incharge of transfers etc so I assume he is on his way to talk aoout NP plans , what the club can afford within the FFP rules I dont beleive they would spend 14 million on stadium and then find out they are short of money.!! What it does confirm is that this past season was more inportant than we all thought and that to miss out on promotion could mean we are destined for this league for a few years yet

Blueforever Posted 21 May 2013 Posted 21 May 2013 As someone who works with yearly budgets and targets. For the owners to be reviewing finances at the end of the season news is no surprise, in fact I would be shocked if it didn't happen.
