Fox92 Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 So much this. What a cocky little shit. Liverpool weren't even that good today. Man U were just shockingly bad. What an absolute embarrassment that performance was. Do you ever give any other team credit? Liverpool went to their bitterest rivals and won. In fact, they scored three and didn't concede and lets be honest it could, and probably should, have been more. If Leicester had done the same, you'd be saying how excellent we were, not commenting on United's performance. It annoys me when people, especially the media, concentrate on United failing instead of crediting the opposition. Liverpool, Newcastle, Everton, Spurs have all gone to Old Trafford and won. Fair play to them. A team can only beat what's in front of them, whether it is Manchester United or Luton Town. It's like saying we'll just write off our League One season because we had a better squad than the rest of the league.

Jimothy Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/26618670 Thank **** for that. I'm not massively fond of Hull, but they don't deserve having their name changed. Allam reckons he'll sell up if the vote goes against him, but I think Hull will find a decent buyer, they've had a decent season and are a club in the up.
StanSP Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 It's embarrassing you're referring to him as a **** because of his celebration.. Vidic had only himself to blame, why dive in like that? Sturridge was going nowhere, literally nowhere. What would have been worse Sturridge taking a reckless tackle risking injury for his club in a title challenge and maybe missing the World Cup? Seem to forget he is England's best striker. I doubt Vidic cares about Sturridge getting injured. The fact you're defending his dive so he doesn't risk injury is laughable. Can't you admit he dived to con the referee? If Sturridge did fling himself to the ground in order to avoid injury, why didn't he tell the referee that and be honest? Aaron Hunt did it the other weekend in Germany. Sturridge clearly dived. CLEARLY dived. Vidic put a tackle in to stop Sturridge getting anywhere BUT made no contact. Sturridge put a dampener on his performance with that pathetic dive. The referee bought it. Sturridge knew exactly what he was doing. Everyone hates diving but what I hate more is when people defend it like their life depends on it. He cheated. Simple as.
MC Prussian Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Well I doubt many people switch between Liverpool and Man United, to be honest. There are, actually. Tons of them, in fact. They're called fairweather fans.
Fox in the North Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 If he's just trying to get out of the challenge, he could have just jumped or moved slightly out the way. Yet he'd rather fling his arms in the air and go to his knees without contact.
Langston Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 I'm not a fan of Liverpool and the constant pandering to be victims but I love watching their side at the moment, what's better is the British scattering around their squad. It's great to see - unfortunately that's a sad indictment of the amount of British players starring in our top flight when a handful of domestic born players featuring in a top side is considered so fantastic. Surely they've got a kid there who's better bet than that Aspas clown?

Credit to Brendan Rodgers, certainly proved a few doubters.
Langston Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 Leicesterpool agrees, I retract my earlier statement.

Trust me I'm not condoning any form of diving, simply stating that Vidic was his own worst enemy, no need to dive in and even give Sturridge the option of going down. Vidic set out to hack Sturridge down, for Christ sake he was going nowhere but running out of play for a goal kick. For an experienced captain Vidic should really have known better. I'm still confused in why Clatternburg didn't give us a fourth penalty from Carrick's tackle? Fair enough if the Ref doesn't think there wasn't any contact, but surely he has got to book Sturridge for diving? Or did he?

That's another thing that pisses me off about referees these days as well. I don't see how they can't book players for diving or even blow up for free-kicks/penalties if they don't think it's a foul. Surely they can't think every single time that the player 'slipped' or 'tripped over his own feet'? What about when the player appeals for a penalty?!

The Boyd one the other day was absolutely ridiculous. It was as obvious a dive as you'll see and the ref did nothing.

Did you see Martin's 'dive' against Burnley for Derby? I know he dives a lot, a karma caught up with him on this one, but he looked liked he slipped. He was booked, that incident may have produced a red card as well. Can't remember.

Didn't help that Kieran Trippier was right up in the ref's face waving an imaginary card - something I thought was still a bookable offence?
Dan Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 Thug? The Ref didn't even give a foul until he seen a bit of blood. Funny how Clattenburg did miss Fellaini smashing Gerrard in the face and causing bleeding to Gerrard. Lead with an arm? Have you ever played Football and gone for a header? Utterly clueless. Weren't that good? No, we weren't up to our Arsenal 5-1 level but you'll struggle to see a team dominate a game so much this season, defensively sound, pressed high and looked dangerous when going forward. Exactly, bossed them. Didn't do much? We were 2-0 up, had chances and were in complete control. Jesus Christ, what more would you want? This coming from a bloke in Switzerland who supports Leicester and is obsessed with England. Oh, so this entire post (not just what you put to me) confirms you are the biased little runt I had you down as then. You weren't playing badly but you were hardly dominating like some made out. Absolutely one way traffic after Vidic was dismissed though.

Guest MattP Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 Watching those two games Sunday really did bring home how much the standard of the league has declined. How has Sherwood been employed by anyone and how the hell is Moyes still in a job.

How has Sherwood been employed by anyone and how the hell is Moyes still in a job. I'd be pissed off if I was a young coach, studying the game and taking courses and see this bloke elevated way above his station, throwing his coats around in the technical area and just slagging off the players whilst taking no responsibility himself. But then, he is a Real Football Man.

Bert Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 Remember when Inter Milan were a good side? Vidic & Evra are not good additions by them. Both are well past it. Do you remember when Serie A was a good league though? Both will do fine there.
kingcarr21 Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 This time last season, David Moyes' Everton had 48 points from 29 games, having scored 46 goals & conceded 35. This season, David Moyes' Manchester United side have 48pts from 29 games, having scored 46 goals and conceded 34 He is literally turning Man Utd into the new Everton
Dan Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 Do you remember when Serie A was a good league though? Both will do fine there. They'll do better there than in England as it's a slower pace league. It isn't as weak as a lot will have you believe although it's definitely gone downhill.
StanSP Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 Ahem http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/88333-knockaert-dive/?hl=knockaert I also don't condone any of our players diving! I hate it!
