The Year Of The Fox Posted 15 November 2013 Posted 15 November 2013 We really need to avoid these appeal things, (when Matt said 'like in the NFL' I knew it has to be avoided) as well as any other technology. Keep the game as raw as possible. If football didn't have as much money involved as it does then there would be less pressure on the ref to get decisions right.

But it does, and there is, sad sign of the times. Sorry, but I believe bad decisions standing for the sake of 'being raw' and 'controversy makes good talking points' is utter BS. Decisions that can affect a clubs entire season should be made correctly. Either train refs so they're near infallible (not really practical), or give them the tech to help them achieve near infallibility. Human error needs to be removed from decision making in football as much as is possible.
davieG Posted 15 November 2013 Author Posted 15 November 2013 Anyone complaining about stoppage time to consider a review obviously hasn't noticed the long drawn out time it takes to set up a free kick these days only for a very high % of them to go sailing over the crossbar. What ever happened to quick free kicks near the goal ,seemingly they have been outlawed as the ref waves his whistle at the players.
ADK Posted 15 November 2013 Posted 15 November 2013 I'm a big fan of using technology. Goal line. Penalty Decisions. Potential Red Cards. That should be enough.
marko Posted 15 November 2013 Posted 15 November 2013 The latest 'racist' hits the headlines. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/nov/15/steven-taylor-apologises-racist-tweet-newcastle Words will fail me if he's charged for this.
kingfox Posted 23 November 2013 Posted 23 November 2013 Well that's a shit start, nobody picking Coutinho up.
Jimothy Posted 23 November 2013 Posted 23 November 2013 That is a scandalous decision from Dowd. Heard them talking about it on Soccer Saturday, how high was the challenge? They didn't really make it clear if it was high on the leg or high on the body, if that makes sense.
bovril Posted 23 November 2013 Posted 23 November 2013 An absloutely brilliant match. And I can't believe it's still 11 v 11.
Fox92 Posted 23 November 2013 Posted 23 November 2013 Liverpool v Everton is always quality. Always goals, surprised we haven't seen a red card either although that challenge earlier was lucky to not produce a red.

The challenge was awful and considering the ref was standing so near I am amazed he gave a yellow.
Guest MattP Posted 23 November 2013 Posted 23 November 2013 Lakaku on loan has to be one of the most peculiar decisions ever made, anyone but Mourinho and the manager would be getting hammered.

21st Century Fox Posted 23 November 2013 Posted 23 November 2013 Let's hope Dortmund v Bayern can live up to that later.
Kitchandro Posted 23 November 2013 Posted 23 November 2013 Great game. Is it coincidence that it wasn't on sky?
