Super_horns Posted 24 November 2013 Posted 24 November 2013 Can the FA nail him with retrospective action nowadays yeh? Although even a 3 match ban wouldn't be enough. Not sure as the ref booked him. Hope Brown gets that red chalked off. You'd be clapped and cheered for such a good tackle in the past. I wonder if Mr Friend was put under pressure by Stoke players, fans and the manager? Can be quite hostile on and off the pitch there.
theessexfox Posted 24 November 2013 Posted 24 November 2013 Some of the red cards nowadays are soft, which used to be applauded in the past. But that one just takes the piss. Not even an ounce of an argument in favour of the ref.
purpleronnie Posted 24 November 2013 Posted 24 November 2013 Man city a transformed team at home, spurs look like their usual guff.
Guest ttfn Posted 24 November 2013 Posted 24 November 2013 Lamela has offered so little for Spurs. Very disappointed.
ScouseFox Posted 24 November 2013 Posted 24 November 2013 Spurs haha. Ain't gonna get nowhere if you've got Kyle Walker on the pitch
Fox92 Posted 24 November 2013 Posted 24 November 2013 Spurs look so poor, like they don't care. That fourth goal was excellent. Toure is a different class when he wants to be. 5-0 now. Could be 7 at the end.
Guest ttfn Posted 24 November 2013 Posted 24 November 2013 I don't understand how or why Sandro is still on the pitch. He should have had about 4 yellow cards by now and neither Howard Webb nor AVB have put him out of his misery.
Jimothy Posted 24 November 2013 Posted 24 November 2013 Every time I see a Spurs line up I wonder what the hell AVB is thinking. Seems to leave out his best players, persist with shit like Holtby sand Sandro. Persist with a formation that's clearly not benefitting Soldardo. Adebayor ahead of Defoe. I honestly think I could do better, seriously. He won't be around much longer if this carries on surely?

Soldado & Lamela have been shit in the Prem so far.
Jimothy Posted 24 November 2013 Posted 24 November 2013 The signings haven't lived up to the billing yet. Soldado & Lamela have been shit in the Prem so far. I think Paulinho had been ok. Lamela hasn't had a chance. Soldardo needs a partner up top with him and AVB seems oblivious to that fact. Erikson started well be then got cast aside for Holtby, who is one of the worst players I've ever seen. I don't think the signings have played well, but I don't think AVB has helped.
Leicesterpool Posted 24 November 2013 Posted 24 November 2013 Villas-Boas could face the sack for this, okay there losing to Man City but a team whose challenging for the top four can't concede as many as this.
Fox92 Posted 24 November 2013 Posted 24 November 2013 Villas-Boas could face the sack for this, okay there losing to Man City but a team whose challenging for the top four can't concede as many as this. They lost to City 5-1 the same year City beat United 6-1.
Leicesterpool Posted 24 November 2013 Posted 24 November 2013 They lost to City 5-1 the same year City beat United 6-1. yeah but they didn't lose 0-3 at home to West Ham did they! You know where i can see spurs going next! i can see them going for Kilnsmann but would he be prepared to leave the USA before the world cup! Then again i suppose he could do both?
Corky Posted 24 November 2013 Posted 24 November 2013 That was actually quite comforting, Spurs being shit reminded me of the years 1996-2000 when we did very well.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 24 November 2013 Posted 24 November 2013 I fancied £20 on Giggs to score today but he's not starting
Stadt Posted 24 November 2013 Posted 24 November 2013 If Man U, Arsenal and even Man City and Chelsea had spent well over 100m on the amount of players Spurs have serious questions would be asked of the managers but for whatever reason AVB has managed to escape massive criticism until now. Holtby isn't shit.
StanSP Posted 24 November 2013 Posted 24 November 2013 Mirallas' tackle is horrific. Deserved ten red cards let alone one. Absolutely horrendous. Can the FA nail him with retrospective action nowadays yeh? Although even a 3 match ban wouldn't be enough. I think they can, even though the ref booked him. Otherwise the whole retrospective thing becomes a bit redundant. The whole new rule would mean that they understand referees can make mistakes or wrong judgements in the heat of the moment and so the retrospective rule dictates that after more analysis, a harsher punishment is required. I think Mirallas can expect a 3 match ban. As soon as I saw it, it instantly reminded me of what Roy Keane did on Alf-Inge Haaland. And then it gets even worse with each replay that's shown.

Yeah Paulinho has been about the best. Lamela has had a chance in Europa, but sub appearances and stuff in the Prem, he has looked average. Soldado regardless if he needs a partner or not, has been a major disappointment, you have your top 10 worst signings of the summer debates on other websites, and at the minute, I would put Soldado in amongst the ten. I've watched him a few times, and to me he is lazy, doesn't come looking for the ball, and his movement is pretty shocking. Really surprised he hasn't been dropped yet for Defoe, Defoe is a good finisher, and moves and makes runs a lot better.
