Moosedog Posted 6 July 2013 Posted 6 July 2013 Anya had a good end to the season but is frustrating, he has the speed and ability to go past players but seems not to have the confidence to do it on a regular basis, also not great defensively but has improved, Faraoni is a product of Inter Milan and played 24 games for them before moving to Udinese last year where he played 10 games in serie-A he has played for Italy at every level up to full international and at 22 will probably be Watfords best signing this year
Guest Bilo Posted 6 July 2013 Posted 6 July 2013 I find it hilarious that Watford are practically wanking themselves into oblivion over Lewis McGugan, a player who couldn't get a contract renewal at a side that finished five places below them last season. I know they're a small club but come on boys, you really are embarrassing yourselves.
Fox92 Posted 6 July 2013 Posted 6 July 2013 That Ekstrand is a fantastic defender though. Championship might just be the toughest it's ever been this year. It's tough every year; hence why teams like Leicester and Ipswich haven't got out of it (the right way).

RizLCFC Posted 7 July 2013 Posted 7 July 2013 Liverpool want to loan out Andre Wisdom, he'd be a brilliant signing and make a strong centre half partnership with Wes Morgan, he doesn't mind playing there or at right back.
LeicesterAreGoingUp Posted 7 July 2013 Posted 7 July 2013 I'm sure you'd be happy to have him on a free transfer Hes exactly the same as gally, good at dead ball situations and long rangers, but far too inconsistant

Tielemans63 Posted 7 July 2013 Posted 7 July 2013 Wigan have agreed a fee for Grant Holt and interested in Spearing - they will surely be strong contenders.
Soar Fox Posted 7 July 2013 Posted 7 July 2013 Wigan are building a better squad than when they were in the premiership in my opinion.
Cropwellfox Posted 7 July 2013 Posted 7 July 2013 Will see this year in year out with the combination of FFP and Parachute payments. Relegated clubs signing players everyone else haven't got a prayer of getting. Wigan and Reading looking very strong, and Bolton who have still got parachute money too.

WhenYourSmilingLCFC Posted 7 July 2013 Posted 7 July 2013 Thing is with Wigan, theyre gonna be playing Thursdays (Europe), other teams wont. It affected Birmingham when they had to deal with it. Still, Grant Holt is a good signing.
XLM Posted 7 July 2013 Posted 7 July 2013 Grant Holt is a very similar striker to Austin and Murray - both of which did very well at this level. Let's be honest Grant Holt is a good signing for a lot of premiership clubs let alone an already strong championship side. One can only hope that our players have reached an age that means that they will be performing at their peak. If so, Hull proved last year that even if the squad doesn't look amazing on paper, maintaining form and peak performances could still be a key factor for us.

This is true, and as I've said many times before; you don't need a quality team to get out of the division. You just need a hardworking and consistent team. Look at teams that have been promoted in recent years, the likes of Blackpool, Palace, Southampton, Reading etc they didn't have a quality side or players that are 'PL quality'. In fact, in my opinion, the only teams that have possessed real quality were Newcastle and West Ham.
jock2612 Posted 8 July 2013 Posted 8 July 2013 I see Charlton might be in for Sordell from Bolton, he would be superb with Wood uo top !!

Wonder what kind of price he's going for? Only had a year left but young and English will mean big (ish) money

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 8 July 2013 Posted 8 July 2013 Think Austin might not really do it at top level, sort of like Billy Sharp, and soon come back down, but might be worng.
MC Prussian Posted 8 July 2013 Posted 8 July 2013 One could say that signing a lot of new players is one thing, integrating them into your already existing team is another. Might take a few weeks or even months before all these "powerhouses" have gotten into gear. This could suit us with an already established and little changed first eleven.
Guest Posted 8 July 2013 Posted 8 July 2013 Paul Anderson to Ipswich from Bristol City, with JET going the other way
RedHux Posted 8 July 2013 Posted 8 July 2013 £4.5 mil is being quoted Slightly more then David Villa went for..
