Beckford is signing for Bolton, bang average at this level :D

He is but you know for a fact, there will be a thread on here every time he scores even if he only scores five all season.

God forbid, he scores a hat trick.

Posted

Marc Tierney, Rob Hall, Beckford & Baptiste...

Raheem Sterling on loan and Jordan Rhodes also heavily linked.

Bolton mean business.

But you'd rather come straight back down? Rather than wait one more season?

What is the point in that?

No wonder we're getting nowhere. I bet you're the type of fan that boos after a draw.

What a strange, strange post.

I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Why does going up next season equal certain relegation but promotion the season after would lead to several years of Premiership football?

Or if you think that going up only to end up coming down is a better scenario than going up and staying there.

What's that got to do with what you're saying?

Have you got a crystal ball?

Who?

Beckford and Baptiste aren't that good.

Can't see Jordan Rhodes leaving Blackburn, even on loan.

I think Blackburn have got a better squad thus far than Bolton in all honesty.

It's a scenario. Obviously I don't have a ****ing crystal ball.

all i'm saying is that this squad would get hammered in the Prem, i'd rather go up with a decent side.

Famous last words. Remember what you have said especially when he is odds on to score against us next season. Gradel, Kermogant to name but two. Oh they always play well against us too and raise their games.

Tierney is bang average as is Baptiste. Fvck me Beckford, you are bothered about Beckford?! Rob Hall is completely untested and the other two are as you say "linked". Everyone was saying Danny Murphy and Kevin Davies would tear everyone a new arse hole in this league last year!

So we wouldn't be buying new players should we get promoted this season?

Boltons squad is quality already though, they ended the season the form team. Adding to what they already had in my opinion guarentee's them one of the top 6 spots

Apparently we're soon to be signing a chap called Jamie paterson from Walsall.

I know nothing about him other he's apparently a quick winger.

Shhhhh, don't tell Mack. He'll do his nut!

But it won't be this fvcking squad will it? We'd buy players if we went up. Just as we'd buy players in 2 summers time if we went up.

Are you that naive that you think it's cut and dried that if we ended up being promote this season we'd a) get hammered every week and certainly come straight back down b) not make significant additions and c) not be better off being promoted this season?

It is irrelevent that money doesn't guarantee success, what is relevant is we have better opportunities if we go up and get £120m or whatever it is. Not to mention the players we'd attract just for being in the Premier League would give is more chance of having a good squad if we came down.

Besides, I'd rather have the glory of being promoted followed by the pain of relegation than rot in this tiresome uninspiring league for another season and maybe postpone the same thing happening.

You need to get real.

Bolton are playing a high risk tactic going for broke. I'm pretty sure they're more in debt than we are.

People forget that we actually have a very good team that will have learnt alot from last season. The younger players will have benefited massively from the pressures of first team football and now feel at home in the Championship.

My point being, if the season started tomorrow, i think we'd defo be a top 6 team minimum.

We didnt fall away last season cos we're not good enough, we just had a huge dip in form maybe down to inexperience etc.

I do think we need a couple of additions to make us stronger but our squad is in decent nick

This is the one league in the world where nothing is guaranteed.

Raheem Sterling would tear this league apart!

Yeah, imagine if we signed Yakubu or something - ohhh.

Personally think it will do us good to not be favourites going into this season.

4/5 teams above us in the "expectations' league will take a lot of pressure off.

Christ on a bike! A post of yours I wholeheartedly agree with ;)

It's a ****ing scenario.

**** me, I knew a little imagination would be hard for the majority of FoxesTalk to grasp but this is woeful.

The scenario is would you rather go up and come straight back down or wait a season, go up and stay there.

How ****ing difficult is that to grasp?

It's a scenario that you are suggesting is set in stone. Which it's not. So it's a fvcking stupid scenario that shouldn't have been brought up.

I can see both sides of AKCJ's argument but personally disagree. I'm also getting very tired of this league now and whilst I don't want us to go for broke (never ever works with us, or most sides), I definitely want promotion. Can see the logic of long-term team building. Think it's one thing we're terrible at in England, the short-termism makes me cringe if anything but the majority seem to thrive off it.

:giggle:

Of course it's set in stone lol I've given you two the options to answer the question with, choose one of those

Of course it might pan out differently in real life, but as nobody has a ****ing time machine we can't be sure what will happen. I was only asking a simple question to start an engaging debate to pass the time in this awfully boring offseason.

I wasn't asking for a lecture on 'oh but we'd obviously sign all these players' or 'oh but we'd just come down either way'. It really was a simple 2 choice question as I was interested to know whether, as a set of fans, we would be prepared to sit back and watch our squad develop  but obviously that was too difficult to grasp. lol
