"A fourth estate, independent in name and fact from the operations of government, is of the essence of a free society."

I wonder if we'll ever get one?

I wonder if we'll ever get one?

We did have one, but not any more.

As for the question, not likely. Modern mass media is in bed with the politicians and the leading business members, and always will be.

I doubt that really , it's just a few more people are wising up to the reality nowadays .

Still not much we can do about it though.

"We must do away with the absolutely specious notion that everybody has to earn a living. It is a fact today that one in ten thousand of us can make a technological breakthrough capable of supporting all the rest. The youth of today are absolutely right in recognizing this nonsense of earning a living. We keep inventing jobs because of this false idea that everybody has to be employed at some kind of drudgery because, according to Malthusian-Darwinian theory, he must justify his right to exist. So we have inspectors of inspectors and people making instruments for inspectors to inspect inspectors. The true business of people should be to go back to school and think about whatever it was they were thinking about before somebody came along and told them they had to earn a living."

Not direct quotes but I saw a print of "Things I learnt from the Godfather":

NEVER Discuss the family business

Avoid sleeping with fishes or horses heads

Make sure it's your signature on the contract, not your brains

Keep things business, not personal

Leave the gun, take the cannoli

If a favour is called back, DO IT!

Be careful when fellow diners come back from the restroom

Sicilian women are more dangerous than shotguns

Watch out for the kids when your backing out

Hold your hand in your pocket like you've got a gun, you'll be all right

Oranges should make you nervous

Don't look anyone in the eye, but don't look away either

Never talk business in front of the kids

Reasonable men don't have to make assurances

Don't take sides against the Family

Remember, women and children can be careless, but not men

With respect, comes loyalty

ALWAYS make them an offer they can't refuse

My favourite quote from all film:

"Leave the gun, take the cannoli."

Brilliant, and i read somewhere it was an ad-lib.

oh and...

"This is the lesson: never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never -- in nothing, great or small, large or petty -- never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy."

To be nobody but myself in a world which is doing its best, night

and day to make me the same as everybody else means to fight the hardest

battle any human being can fight and never stop fighting."

Informer, ya' no say dadda me Snow me I'll go blame, A licky Boom Boom Down.

Never a truer thing said!

That's the lyrics?! Man, I was way off!

I heard it as something like:

Informer,

You know my name's Tony and I can play, yo.

I like ya bum bum down.

The other surprising thing is that I don't have it in my play library.

Edit: purchased.
