jamesmilner Posted 11 August 2013 Posted 11 August 2013 no different to the end of last season performances .just wonder what can change and who can change it ? yeah 4/6 is a good start , but where do we go from here ? early in the season i know , but how and who are going to change things as it most definitely needs change ? i cant be expected to watch a game like that and be positive surely ? it aint cheap to watch city and i was definitely ripped off today .
Soar Fox Posted 11 August 2013 Posted 11 August 2013 I thought it was an absolutely terrible game from both sides.
kingfox Posted 11 August 2013 Posted 11 August 2013 Spot on analysis. I agree with all of this. Cheers again Col
Dan Posted 11 August 2013 Posted 11 August 2013 Not good. I think in the grand scheme of things it isn't a terrible result, but once I saw the line-up I did think we'd struggle to score. Far too much hoofball for my liking. The majority of the play we created came from Schmeichel's long balls and we'd lose the initial battle between Nugent/Vardy and their defenders, before losing it in midfield. We only ever looked comfortable when it was on the floor so why oh why we kept playing back to Schmeichel to hoof it I will never know. I hope it's just them trying to get used to things because if we think that long ball to forwards who do very little in the air will get us up, then we've got another thing coming. I can't say I'm underwhelmed because I'm not surprised by that game at all. But thought it was pretty much the same game as the last two years against Leeds at home without the goals - scrappy. We got better towards the end but overall, pretty poor spectacle and feel for anyone who's paid thirty odd for that. Atmosphere dreadful. Why do we always allow Leeds to take over the place?
Dan Posted 11 August 2013 Posted 11 August 2013 On the plus sides - Liam Moore, excellent. We've produced a very decent defender if these first few games are anything to go by. Decent defensive display.
inckley fox Posted 11 August 2013 Posted 11 August 2013 Why the hell are we so negative??? 4 points from six is a decent return and if we maintain two points per game we'll be automatics. I had the misfortune of watching seven Cardiff city homegrs last year and they were diabolical in all of them but won and drew them. Where did organised scrappy football get them to???? I'd love is to play open expansive football but if we have to be more defensive and organised to get us out of this league then so be it. Come on folks, unbeaten, lighten up please If we play like that at home and fail to beat mid-table sides we won't go up, that's why I'm negative. Now we will, I'm sure, come to play far better than that, but not unless we learn the lessons from games like today. Just before our disastrous run last year there were several 'warnings', such as a lacklustre 1-0 win over Wolves. Pearson responded by declaring himself delighted about the performance and refused to utter a word of criticism after a miserable result against Huddersfield either. For me, when you go about your work badly - as in every other walk of life - you face up to it and look at what went wrong before it gets out of hand. I suspect that Pearson has learned from how passive he was back in February. I suspect that behind closed doors he's very concerned indeed. If he's as blissfully upbeat as he seems, and some of you lot clearly are, then we are in trouble.

It should spur our fans on, make them abit competative, compete against each other, attempt to drown each other out, but no, our fans just sit there. Quietly. Another point, empty seats, everywhere, very empty today, I know it was on Sky and I know people might still be on holiday but I personally noticed a drop in fans today.
Karljohn Posted 11 August 2013 Posted 11 August 2013 We've just made one of the most innovative, expansive and entertaining formations look ****ing miserable. Agreed, Leeds were shite too, Konchesky is the modern day Tony Spearing.
smudger63 Posted 11 August 2013 Posted 11 August 2013 Fúcking criminal that we didn't win that. They were woeful, there's no escaping that, we should've won. If Knockaert had started we win, that simple. "His head's not in the right place BLAH BLAH fúcking BLAH", don't give a shit, he's our best attacking player by miles, and he proved it again today. In half an hour he played we had 4 or 5 chances and looked a threat, in an hour without him we didn't manage a shot. 3-5-2 was a fun experiment but clearly we don't have a clue how to use it, if we're gonna play it like that switch back to 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 immediately. With Knockaert at the heart of it. To be fair, Leeds fans are probably saying exactly the same. A poor game, between two poor teams on the day.
Guest Col city fan Posted 11 August 2013 Posted 11 August 2013 On the plus sides - Liam Moore, excellent. We've produced a very decent defender if these first few games are anything to go by. Decent defensive display. I agree. I also thought Whitbread looked solid. He's shite on the ball, but as an out-and-out solid defender he made some last ditched challenges, particularly the one to head over our own bar. We still lack that creative midfield player with the final killer ball. Knocky helped in this respect, but he's no Gary Parker. That's the type of player this team is absolutely crying out for. Poor Vardy had literally fook all to feed off.
J.Lisemore Posted 11 August 2013 Posted 11 August 2013 Worst game of football I've seen in a long time. Leeds were shocking and luckily for them, we didn't turn up.

ADK Posted 11 August 2013 Posted 11 August 2013 We wern't that bad, Leeds came for a point and they got it, had Wood scored we wold have won 1-0. I think Leeds are a solid outfit and in that situation last season we'd have probably lost 1-0. Knockaert is creative but also a liability in equal measure so i think using him as an impact sub is the right thing to do.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 11 August 2013 Posted 11 August 2013 That formation is fine away from home. Congratulations to the Leeds fan hitting the ballboy with the smoke grenade and the others punching the coppers when he was getting nicked. Oh and the lad that chucked a bottle of fanta or whatever n hit the copper in the chops
Rocky Dennis Posted 11 August 2013 Posted 11 August 2013 those of you moaning are the same people that'd be planning for next season in the prem if Wood had scored. unbeaten in 3 as well. Get a grip!! Great post! The moaning and whingeing on here is embarrassing!!
Guest Col city fan Posted 11 August 2013 Posted 11 August 2013 Great post! The moaning and whingeing on here is embarrassing!! No it's not. We're fans AND customers. If I'd had paid £30 odd for that game I'd have come away from the ground thinking 'what the fook!' Dreadful game to watch.

Filthy ****ers
sylofox Posted 11 August 2013 Posted 11 August 2013 Ok I'll be honest seen nothing and heard nothing as was working. But reading on here people saying bin the 3-5-2 an offensive formation as is not working. Well to me means one of 2 things either Leeds stopped us and just wanted the point. Or our defensive manager has not got a clue how to play 3-5-2 No I am not calling for his head but I do sometimes wonder if a more offensive approach was taken by him if we would win this sort of game.
Fox92 Posted 11 August 2013 Posted 11 August 2013 I agree it was boring, but I think a decent enough draw against a solid team I imagine to be up there at the end of the season. Kasper's distribution still frustrates me. Some good throws, but other times, he is slow when he needs to be quicker. Defence, solid enough again. Midfield lacks something, not Knockaert though, in my opinion. I do think he gives the ball away to much which in 352 is criminal because it's generally in the centre of midfield. Vardy's workrate was excellent again, not sure if he lacks the quality Wood has at times. Good effort from him and Nuge though. Wood was unlucky with the shot that hit the post, but the long ball isn't his game (it's no wonder he doesn't jump).

But were you satisfied with that game of football? It was dire really. I'm differentiating between the result and performance and the game, if that makes sense. If I was a watching neutral, I'd have switched off.
Danno Posted 11 August 2013 Posted 11 August 2013 Leeds are a midtable club no one cares about anymore, gave me a headache listening to the ****** droning out we all love leeds
