Yawn....

We got a point at home in the 2nd game of the season. It's not that bad is it? Some of you need to sort ya shit out. New strikers? Sell knocky?

Yes a disappointing performance by most players, but, we take a point and get on with our next game. Lessons will be learned.

Given that was one of the worst games I can remember suffering, I feel surprisingly encouraged by lots of things ! But we simply have to play more positively with that shape and play Knocky instead of one of the 3 midfielders. They all sit too deep and isolate the forwards. Knocky would join it up and pull defenders around more. We're close to making a fist of 3-5-2. Stick at it - it's August FFS.

those of you moaning are the same people that'd be planning for next season in the prem if Wood had scored. unbeaten in 3 as well. Get a grip!!

We so heavily rely on Knockaert for creativity, but he is a little moaning bitch .

hahaha. lil bitch.

What if the people are moaning because we were clearly very, very poor? Why are we not allowed to moan after such a boring, inept, clueless display?

Well done you for being all positive and having a grip though mate

We weren't very, very poor. We looked a solid unit lacking creativity. Some people are so negative I think they want to have something to moan at.

Wasn't that bad in my opinion, we knocked the ball about and kept possession well at times. Hoofing & those silly chip balls were coming into play too often though, it's poor and unnecessary. The defence was solid though, Moore & Morgan were outstanding, midfield Drinkwater was quicker on the ball, King put his body about, James was ok but nothing special. The midfield kept losing out on too many second balls though, especially first half, Austin was picking everything up for Leeds. Putting Knockaert on didn't change much either, might add that creative spark, but he was shit. Vardy was good in my opinion, but Nugent was poor.

We played well at times, but they need to cut the long balls out, and make use of this impressive passing, we lack a creative spark, and with Knockaert being too greedy, we need to try Ben Marshall.

Early days, room for improvement, but wasn't as bad as some people are making out.

I'm pro-Pearson and I don't think this draw is the end of the world but people do have the right to moan about that display. It was a very poor match.

Jesus wept! Why are people moaning about it being a boring, crap, defensive team and formation? It's the same team who won the first two games so why would he change it for the sake of it? To make the fans happy through a little variety? Little or no credit or appreciation from a lot of you that Leeds came with a game plan that worked. Do you expect teams to roll over for us? I'm happy with a point. Yes, it was boring for a lot of it and James was totally anonymous in that game. Knoch is not good enough but clearly Zoom is either not fit still or is no better.

352 is fine although worried about exposure down the wings and we did tend to defend too deep in the middle which led to the front two getting a little isolated. We're still learning it though and it seems to be clicking a little more.

Thought Liam was fantastic today. So happy for the lad. Was SSL injured? Zak wasn't poor but he wasn't great. I get a little worried he will give a penno away very soon.

All in all. Point is better than none and we might have got that last season.

I agree, had we took a point at Mboro and won today the plebs wouldn't be moaning.

It's a long season, I'm happy with our start.

what are you talking about. this is my response to watching that  dreadful game, not a prediction for the whole season. you don't need to be patronising and tell  me to be patient. i'll judge each game as it comes. that one was awful, end of story.

Didn't mean to come across as patronising. We all agree the game was a write-off. And this wasn't aimed at you personally but on the overly negative posts so far. Seems people expect the formation and the team to click instantly, yet despite result-wise success, it doesn't stop some from focusing way too much on what didn't work today.

My God that was one of the worst games of football I cab remember. All the pre-match excitement was sucked out of me by half-time.

Highlights of the day for me:

1) pre-match pint and burgee

2) half-time piss

3) smoke bomb and some leeds fans getting ejected

4) full-time whistle and going home

lets hope for better against Derby next week

Spot on analysis.

I agree with all of this.

Absolutely disgraceful behaviour when one of their wankers threw a smoke grenade at the young ballboy, some serious action should really be taken.. although I know it probably won't.

Brand new Volkswagen under the bridge near the ground with one of its windows smashed in.. anyone know anything about that?

I hate Leeds.

Everyone is quite within their rights to feel a little negative. We played a mid-table side at home and only had a couple of near misses in the whole game. On top of that the support was shocking.

It was a defensive way to line up at home. If Pearson is as happy as he seems, then I'm staggered. 3-5-2 itself is fine, but many managers state that it can't be played with TWO defensive wing backs. On top of that all three of our midfielders are more accustomed to the defensive role. We struggled to create chances against Wycombe in midweek and, contrary to the fictitious game that Pearson appears to have watched, made no chances today until Knockaert, Dyer and Wood came on.

It's unfair to blame 3-5-2, but rather the players selected within it. I wouldn't want to blame Vardy, Nugent or Wood either, all of which had to come deep to create chances (save for one Nugent effort). I'd look more towards King who had three clear cut chances to whip the ball in from the edge of the box and failed to beat the first man on all three. He also played the instant return ball every time and, on one very noteworthy occasion just before Whitbread was booked, allowed a player to skin him on the touchline when he could have taken everything and stopped the break (memories of his limp-wristed challenge before Watford's winning goal in the play-offs anybody?).

As for positives... I think it's hard to knock Konchesky for his lack of attacking attributes. Defensively he did fine. Moore was excellent, Morgan solid and Whitbread won some key headers second half, although he could easily have conceded a penalty. De Laet worked hard and got forward but was clearly not his usual self. The wing back role, however, clearly does not play to Dyer's strengths although he - along with Wood and Knockaert - gave us something of a threat. At home I'd start with at least two of the three, as opposed to five defenders, three defensive midfielders and two strikers who aren't renowned for scoring goals.

I love a moan but it's not like I need to go searching hard for things to moan about when we play like that. I could moan until next week about how poor that was.

Why the hell are we so negative??? 4 points from six is a decent return and if we maintain two points per game we'll be automatics.

I had the misfortune of watching seven Cardiff city homegrs last year and they were diabolical in all of them but won and drew them. Where did organised scrappy football get them to????

I'd love is to play open expansive football but if we have to be more defensive and organised to get us out of this league then so be it.

Come on folks, unbeaten, lighten up please

Meh. It was a fair result and a 0-0 scoreline summed it up.

We played ok, not amazing but not bad, Leeds were much the same, we both had our chances, I found it a very boring game though.

Vardy played ok, he's improving, felt he should and could have done more with his chance though, Wood's chance was unlucky, apart from that chance though he didn't do much, granted he was on that long.

I'll take a draw, spin it round and say we drew at Middlesborough, won today and we'd be fairly happy drawing our away winning out home game, I said this morning though in the thread discussing whether we should go with Vardy or Wood and I reiterate, I can't see where goals are going to come from.

EDIT - Fuck me, my post is actually positive compared to alot of posts in this thread.

Probably not visible at the ground but knocky went round the team saying 'give me the ball'when he came on.

if we carry on with the hoof lets not give a goal away style we will finish about 8th.

personally im not up for that

Must have seen a different game to you. Drinkwater, second half especially, was unbelievably prone to hopeful stabs towards the front two which instantly surrender possession to the opposition. James contributed a threat from corners, but was otherwise lost. King, for me, was the real shocker. Not only was he easily brushed off in 50-50s, but he also failed to deliver the ball from the edge of the box on three separate occasions, and always played the return ball instead of taking responsibility himself. Knockaert didn't change much? All of our best play came after his introduction, and that of Wood and Dyer. Our best chance, save the one crafted out of nothing by Wood, came from a stunning through-ball from Knockaert to Nugent.

When we saw that line-up we thought 'where's the creativity coming from?' but then 'oh well, we're not football managers. NP knows best.' Then, lo and behold, there is no creativity - no chances whatsoever - until he makes three second half changes. And then, much like all of the second half of last season, you really do start to wonder.

Spot on. Exactly what I was going to post!

It was poor at times but there are things to build on. The players won't be totally au fait with a new formation after just a handful of games. There needs to be tweaks obviously - its whether / how quickly NP makes those tweaks that interests me.

Result is OK, game was tedious though, that first half was just turgid. Not that we played badly, but both teams were just too cautious and happy to play a scrappy game though. Whitbread had a few iffy moments early on, but looked a lot better in the second half, especially when he was the central defender in the back 3. Very good performance from Liam Moore.

One final thing though - Paddy fecking Kenny. What a cretin. In what was a tedious game anyway, the last thing the world needed was that nobhead taking the best part of 2 minutes to take each goal kick. Does it every time we play his team, right from the very start of the match. How he gets away with never being booked for it I don't know.
