LCFC FOX Posted 27 August 2013 Posted 27 August 2013 Surely its the management team who tells the DOF who he wants and who he can sell?
Karljohn Posted 27 August 2013 Posted 27 August 2013 Logan doesnt wipe his arse if he lets in 3 or more goals, until the next time he starts for the senior team. 90% true from a good source I've had a dull day but this and the win has cheered me up!
Bert Posted 27 August 2013 Posted 27 August 2013 Do Wood's goals tonight count?Probably, only Beckfords don't.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 August 2013 Posted 27 August 2013 All this "we haven't been told" stuff just comes across like petty point-scoring to me. It won't end well.
KFS Posted 27 August 2013 Posted 27 August 2013 Surely its the management team who tells the DOF who he wants and who he can sell? Not unless the Thai's have done what they did with Sven and given sole power to one person on the basis that he's "most experienced".
Bayfox Posted 27 August 2013 Posted 27 August 2013 Ben Marshall thread was far more interesting than the match. Sauce???
Bert Posted 27 August 2013 Posted 27 August 2013 Course they know about Marshy, because he was left out of the squad. Unless the DOF picks the squad He's not been in the past four squads....
sphericalfox Posted 27 August 2013 Posted 27 August 2013 They were talking about Marshall's move and how close it apparently was - Shakespeare said they hadn't heard anything from the Director of Football. So, either the media as a whole is wrong and Marshall isn't on his way, or the DOF is going behind Nigel's back. Or hows this - They of course know Marshall is going/gone, thus him being left out of the squad. The purpose of the DoF is to deflect aggravation and/or animosity towards this virtually faceless non-public person and not the manager and his coaching team, thus the fans continue to support him and the team, with the hope we can all remain positive in the light of the clear reductions in costs/players around the club. Jus throwing that out there.
Salieri Posted 27 August 2013 Posted 27 August 2013 Shocking if there's no communication, it'll end badly. Hopefully there's not much to read between the lines but DOF's have a history of this sort of nonsense. Yup. There's bound to be advice from the 'upper echelons' with regards to balancing the books and the like, but the manager should always have final say on whether or not a player should be sold. Unfortunately the DOF is no doubt working to guidelines presented to him by the chairman so could be argued is just doing his job. It's a ridiculous but sadly commonplace situation nonetheless.
kingfox Posted 27 August 2013 Posted 27 August 2013 He's not been in the past four squads.... Might of been in, because it was the cup. Regardless if he wasn't included against Wycombe.
theessexfox Posted 27 August 2013 Posted 27 August 2013 So it would seem. That and kfc!! Not my cup of tartare sauce really.
Guest ttfn Posted 27 August 2013 Posted 27 August 2013 Do Wood's goals tonight count? Not in a discussion about whether he's good enough for the Championship. His 20 league goals last season do though.
Crowfeathers Posted 27 August 2013 Posted 27 August 2013 My work here never is done is what you meant surely?
Lionator Posted 27 August 2013 Posted 27 August 2013 I've seen people tweeting about a person being taken ill tonight, does anyone have any info? Best wishes to them.
Strokes Posted 27 August 2013 Posted 27 August 2013 I've seen people tweeting about a person being taken ill tonight, does anyone have any info? Best wishes to them.I had a loose poo earlier, news travels fast. Thanks for your concern.
NeilLCFC Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 Pearson does annoy me when he does this, says he wants to win the game, well no, you don't really do you? Sure you've got a mild preference for a Leicester victory but you don't really want to win it do you? If you did you'd pick a stronger team. Not overly disappointed if we do go on to lose but it does qfrustrate me somewhat when he says that. Prat.
HoustonFox Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 Not in a discussion about whether he's good enough for the Championship. His 20 league goals last season do though. You know I was being sarcastic, right? Can do emoticons on ipad (in full or mobile modes!)
Dan Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 Very poor first half but Carlisle's gameplan was never going to work - they nicked that goal (embarrassing stuff from Danns although it happens to them all) and just allowed Leicester to control the game, is relying on a defence that has shipped four twice and five once before we're even out of August a wise move? It was our own wrongdoing that got us an equaliser actually, they closed us down as a result, we opened up space and played the move of the night to equalise. The second half was hilarious. They absolutely crumbled and Leicester, to our credit, played some excellent stuff. I couldn't give a toss who the opposition is - it's always refreshing watching us rip anyone to shreds in a competitive game. Completely lost our threat when Vardy & Wood went off though although it's understandable. I'd actually give Vardy MOTM even though Wood got a hat-trick, thought he was excellent again - the bloke could be an asset for us this year. Also very impressed by Drinkwater.
Dan Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 Just read some of this absolutely utterly pathetic over-reactions.
Harry - LCFC Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 Prat. Well said sir, I commend you on your well thought out comment. Care to explain or have you nothing more to add and merely wanted to insult someone who handed out what was a fairly minor criticism?
Manwell Pablo Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 It does and always will annoy me when pick shit teams for cup competitions and the fact that we got away with it last night wont change that. I can understand a few changes, even six if it's the right personnel, cannot see the point in playing Danns or Logan as I get the distinct impression if it came down to us needing either of them for any stretch of time we'd be straight into the emergency loan market so we didn't have to play them,.
