On many occasions both this season and towards the back end of last season he appears to drop deep back into midfield in search of the ball, however he's at his best when he's playing on the shoulder of the last defender with through balls played for him to run on to. Not sure whether this approach is due to a lack of support from midfield and him becoming frustrated, or whether it's a tactical reason and is being encouraged by the management team.

He has been shit for a while, and if he continues to struggle for score from open play, then goals will be hard to come by, especially if Wood continues to be crap as well.

Would love to see you do a better job Apart from Middlesbrough (he had a stormer and completely changed the game) he has been consistently poor and should have been dropped a while ago. Yeah he's scored spot kicks but Konchesky slotted his penalty nicely at Blackpool and you can't keep picking players because of that. He is terrible at the moment. Also he's clearly the better footballer than me but I guarantee I would have got that volley at least on target, he completely missed the ****ing ball and scuffed it backwards/sideways.

Obviously none of us could, hence why he is the professional footballer, we are not, and paid handsomely for it too.Anyway, it's been a while since we've had 3 good quality strikers in the squad pushing for 2 places, maybe Bent, Dickov and Sir Les? And hopefully when Wood returns we will do, because although I would never suggest that Nugent and or Vardy would sit back with little to no competition, extra pressure on his place might do him a world of good. When his place was being questioned at the back end of last season, he came back with his play off goals; hopefully he'll come back stronger again.

He was easily our best attacker Tuesday but you just slagged him off. Either way, this is just turning into a pointless thread now. Some people like him, some people don't. Personally think we're a better side when he's in it but there you go.

But Nugent's harassing of players is often half hearted, and rarely wins the ball in comparison to dickov, or even vardy for example. Nuge is too poor in the air (in general link up play) and has far too poor of a touch to be playing in a side when he is as poor as he is currently. He rarely creates chances.

Over the last 20-30 games, if you take penalties out of the equation, Nuge's record is terrible. It's not just his record though, you also have to look at his performances. Everytime the ball is at his feet he looks like he is going to give it away,

Don't understand why people say this! i think you can .so if pearson made a sub just when we were given a penalty and brought me on and i scored all those pens id be a good player ? dont work like that im afraid . my football would be exposed , the pens would be just a sideshow . he is not doing it as a forward . anyone can score a pen even my mum . but playing championship football that counts aint easy for her . shes 74 yr old . nugent isnt in good form at all . he isnt an asset to our side cus he can take pens is he ? we need more from our forwards thats a fact . his penalty yesterday was a long drive home with **** all .

Knockaet Kermo players miss penalties it's not as easy as we get a peno therefore we have scored is it, Nugent still has to score. If you took all shearers penalties away he wouldn't have scored over 20 a season does that make him any less a player?

Guest Col city fan Posted 6 October 2013 Posted 6 October 2013 Saw the highlights on the football league show this morning and noticed two things mainly: Nugent's confidence in front of goal looked non-existent. They were running through our midfield like a knife through butter.
