Bert Posted 30 September 2013 Posted 30 September 2013 Not only that, 3rd on the leauge, beating teams that try and spoil/knock us about and the stiffs put the sheep out of the leauge cup. Not a bad start to the season yet all we hear is, yea butSome people want perfection when they couldn't do a better job themselves. As well as forgetting that we are a championship club, not Bayern Munich.
Corky Posted 30 September 2013 Posted 30 September 2013 Some people genuinely baffle me. We've got a player that has been our top scorer for the last two seasons, could well do so again this season, works hard for the team, has openly said he loves it here, and actually wants to play for us yet that's just not good enough? What more do people want? Great asset to the squad, there's a reason that even when he went through a dry patch he was playing. Class player. Probably the same people who love Dyer because of his commitment to the club and his all energy style. He's provided 16 goals per season since he joined, six already this, he could score more but others should also take responsibility around him.
Manwell Pablo Posted 30 September 2013 Posted 30 September 2013 One game doesn't make anybody right. I bet people like you were saying that when he scored them two goals in the play offs. Just a blip that turned out to be in comparison to form since January. Elvis Hammond scored occasionally you know, oh and Mark De Vries - in fact both even scored against Spurs! As I've said, the whole outfit was terrible from February - April we were dog. Strikers have dry spells, it happens, Wood hardly enjoyed a successful period either. Do you want to check Nugents goal scoring record against that of De Vries and Hammond, before even mentioning them in the same sentance!

No not because of his energy and commitment, because he scores important goals and makes important assists. Dyer, King and Nugent are 3 of our best players. Stick in Knocky and Morgan and youve got our 5 best players IMO.
stink1884 Posted 30 September 2013 Posted 30 September 2013 Regardless of how many Nuge gets this year, next season when you look back at goals scored whos going to say x amount was penalties. No one. He works hard for the team as does Vardy etc.... Get off the blokes back. If you could do any better it'd be you in the City shirt. Look on the positive side of things. Hes not missing the penalties and they look better with each one he takes. If hes been a 15+ without taking penalties through his career whats to say he doesnt get 20+ this year. Also seen another topic on nuge ratio at LCFC compared to PNE hes a goal every 3 games. not a bad outcome really is it. To anyone who is desperately in love with Chris Wood please open your eyes. cant judge a header, struggles to bring the ball down, all round play is nothing other than poor. When was the last game he played well other than a pushover Carlisle side in the cup as for schlupp being a better option which im sure somebody has mentioned, not a chance i understand he wants to be a striker etc but lets face it if he was a finisher he'd be playing in red now....

I love Lloydy and think he's a big asset but wouldn't class him in our best 5.

MattyFromLE Posted 30 September 2013 Posted 30 September 2013 I think a lot of people forget who we are, and where we are. All of our players have faults. That's why we are a Championship club. If Dyer had an end product, if Nugent scored 25+ prolifically, if King didn't 'go missing' - then let's be fair to ourselves, they probably wouldn't be playing for Leicester City. They'd be in the Premier League. We finally have 11 players who start each week that want to be here, work for us, the manager and for each other - so let's start criticising one of the hardest grafters in the team? Typical foxes talk.
crisp monster Posted 30 September 2013 Posted 30 September 2013 He's a player that I always wanted at the club and it's unthinkable that we would achieve much this season given our budget without him. About as good as we could wish for.

theofficialboy Posted 1 October 2013 Posted 1 October 2013 You've gotta love the man. Always seems to be having a blast.
Ric Flair Posted 1 October 2013 Posted 1 October 2013 What's really bad is, Nuge isn't going to get back home until the early hours of the morning and then because he's up he'll have to change the babies nappy and then he'll be really stressed and probably need a few hours on FIFA so won't even go to bed. I'm really worried about how this will effect his ability to stick his thumb up against Doncaster when he's ballsed up from a decent pass. #prayfordave
seenitall Posted 1 October 2013 Posted 1 October 2013 Been a great player for us and should be on the team sheet every week (i know he usually is).
artursteppe Posted 1 October 2013 Posted 1 October 2013 A balanced approach. Nuge is ( within the context of the Championship ), class. He is working hard, he is not on top goalscoring form, he does make too many mistakes when in possession in the middle third of the pitch. For a player of his quality he should not be giving the ball away, or losing the team it's ball retention as often as he does. Excuses for this can be more readily acceptable for younger players, but some criticism of Nugent in this context is quite valid. Maybe it's lapses in concentration, new baby on his mind, frankly it is not up to me to make his excuses for him, but without going over the top, I do think it reasonable to want more from him.
foxfanazer Posted 1 October 2013 Posted 1 October 2013 I love that he's always smiling, good to see a player enjoying playing football Cue the "I'd be smiling if I was in 20k a week" responses

Nice to see a player approaching the game in the spirit. And people who moan about him being too friendly are wrong as well because you can tell in his work-rate an attitude to the game that he is desperate to win aswell. Spot on approach.
Manwell Pablo Posted 1 October 2013 Posted 1 October 2013 Just scored another penalty, what a ****, wish he'd score from open play, twat.
Guest Bilo Posted 1 October 2013 Posted 1 October 2013 This thread looks more and more ill advised with every passing game!
Corky Posted 1 October 2013 Posted 1 October 2013 And he set up the other goal. DO SOMETHING IN OPEN PLAY NUGENT YOU TIT
Guest Bilo Posted 1 October 2013 Posted 1 October 2013 STOP SMILING NUGENT YOU OVER FRIENDLY SHITCUNT!
Manwell Pablo Posted 1 October 2013 Posted 1 October 2013 And he set up the other goal. DO SOMETHING IN OPEN PLAY NUGENT YOU TIT We must have another player in the team who can set up goals, drop him.
GingerrrFox Posted 1 October 2013 Posted 1 October 2013 Fair enough he's scored a pen. BUT even Nigel says it's criminal how many chances we missed upfront.
