Tommy G Posted 1 October 2013 Posted 1 October 2013 The only thing about this Nugent Penno scenario is the fact he completely shyed away from it against Watford. Yet runs and wrenches the ball off people this season. Still Watford is in the past but I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking this
Jace Posted 1 October 2013 Posted 1 October 2013 Couldn't really care how he scores, end of the day if you go 1-0 or 2-0 up from a Nugent penalty and then sub him because his job is done then of course he isn't going to score from open play it changes the match.

hackneyfox Posted 1 October 2013 Posted 1 October 2013 We deserve the penalties and from all accounts more but it's somewhat unlikely we'll continue to get them at the rate we are. Hopefully it will just mean defenders get scared to make a challenge and we'll score from that. Who would that make top scorer, De Laet would be up there?
foxfanazer Posted 1 October 2013 Posted 1 October 2013 Some laughable comments here. We won and he scored. Enjoy
hackneyfox Posted 1 October 2013 Posted 1 October 2013 For someone who claimed he wasn't a penalty taker he's something special.
NewquayFox Posted 1 October 2013 Posted 1 October 2013 Poor thread and LCFC fans are letting a ginger Cov fan wind them up....

_Fatboyslow_ Posted 2 October 2013 Posted 2 October 2013 For someone who claimed he wasn't a penalty taker he's something special. I was thinking that myself, this one straight down the middle, last one keepers top left, others hard and low and the keeper who stood by the post did not faze him. Not bad all things considered, and when he misses one I won't be to bothered, unless it's in a playoff or some thing. He has stepped up and is doing a cracking job, just needs to find a few proper goals now ;-)

_Fatboyslow_ Posted 2 October 2013 Posted 2 October 2013 He lets the keeper make his mind up for him which is half the battle. Mmmm .... Interesting, remind me not to play poker with him then
Ric Flair Posted 2 October 2013 Posted 2 October 2013 He might finally get the 20 goals in a season he's been desperate to achieve, but only if he can start scoring from open play again.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 2 October 2013 Posted 2 October 2013 I take 16 penalties and four from open play, they all count
Father Ted Posted 2 October 2013 Posted 2 October 2013 I've been one of Nugent's harshest critics but I genuinely felt that last night was his best performance since January. For once, he looked lively and dangerous when he was on the ball, making good runs and working hard. His link up play with Dyer, Vardy, Knockaert - as a foursome, some of the interplay was top quality. I hope it continues but I'll hold my breath. Hope he can prove me wrong.

Freeman's Wharfer Posted 2 October 2013 Posted 2 October 2013 He lets the keeper make his mind up for him which is half the battle. He said in his interview on Saturday that he decides before the game where he'll put it if he gets one. Decent strategy I thought, changing your mind on the run up is never good.
GingerrrFox Posted 5 October 2013 Posted 5 October 2013 He was dogshite today. That volley he spooned in the middle of box was Sunday league level.
Fox92 Posted 5 October 2013 Posted 5 October 2013 He was dogshite today. That volley he spooned in the middle of box was Sunday league level. Yes he was, but so was the rest of the team.
