Can't remember who he scored that hat trick against but it was the best I've seen by a city player. That audacious back header was brilliant.

Away once against Preston (I think) when they had put the ball because one of our players was injured he kicked it backed to them and lobbed the keeper from the half way line, the ref disallowed it and made him take it again and he him the crossbar.

Tremendous skill and great entertainment.

EDIT;His hat trick was against Scuthorpe

Is that right? I had the feeling that it was Palace, but no doubt I'm wrong and I can't be arsed to check.

+1 for your positivity, though, Webbo. That long-distance, lobbing backheader was possibly the best LCFC goal I've seen. Add in the spectacular free-kick against Forest a couple of years back (3-0, was it, or 4-1?), plus guaranteed goals from penalties: he did his bit as a Leicester player and deserves respect, not the sort of crappy title that has been given to this thread and the nastiness of some posters.

Is it any wonder that some footballers are hostile to fans with some of the attitudes on display here?!

Good luck to Gally, not a "legend" but a decent servant who provided a few spectacular moments. Fare thee well!

Know him well, do you?

No but its pretty obvious or he would of been gone earlier

As another poster has said no one hates him. 95% of fans just don't think hes good enough and was only here for the money.

Hope he goes.

Good luck to him, he scored some great goals for us but times move on and we obviously have better players now.

I don't know what the problem is. We were stupid enough to give him a contract paying him way more than he warrants, and then go out and buy players who are much better than him and then complain when he doesn't play and he doesn't want to leave to go to a shitter club and get paid less. Unfortunately it is just one of many financial mistakes over recent years. I don't hate the guy and hope he does well, but people can't have a go at him for accepting an albeit unwarranted lucrative contract and then not taking a pay cut.

Bottled it a few times too many for me (that time aginst Chelsea was a prime example) but that's probably our fault for playing him in the wrong games.

I wish him well in his career, don't blame him for not leaving for lower wages, he's score some good goals as well.

Some of the actual hate, not dislike or unfancy - but actual intense hate for a player who all in all hasn't been a bad servant for us is nothing shy of embarrassing.

Yes, a player who replied to one of our fans on twitter, with something along the lines of '2 years left on my contract hahahah ££££££'

willy puller.

This is true. Might have been a good player for us but then showed where his priorities were with that comment. Lost respect for him after that. Glad he's going, liked him for what he did in the past, dislike him for what he is now.

A good move for both parties, I wish him well.

I've always liked him, and as others have already said the amount of criticism he received is ridiculous.

He's been a useful player for us but now is the time to move on, all the best to him.

His priorities are his life and his money over our club. No fúcking shit. Like everyone (bar Moore and Schlupp, possibly King) who's played for our club in the past 3 or 4 years, they all chose our club over any other run of the mill boring mid table Championship club because we decided we'd offer them about 10 times more money than anyone else. Obviously he'd rather stay here and get (making this up) £20,000 instead of go to Preston and get (making this up too) £3,000 if he can. So would you. So would I. Don't be silly.

Bragging about it on Twitter wasn't very clever but if people are going to take the piss and abuse him don't have a cry (and keep crying about a year later) when he responds.

I think there's a substantial difference between choosing a good pay packet and mocking those who are you are (in effect) taking money from and providing no service in return. I no it isn't but it feels like we're being robbed.

He hardly "mocked" anyone did he, come on, man up. Presumably someone tweeted him (and mentioned him, which you'd only do if they wanted him to see it and respond, they were antagonising him basically) saying "when u gona fúck off out of #lcfc u pr1ck??!?!??" so he responded saying he's got 2 years left on his contract. Fair play.

Meh. I don't take pleasure in that sort of thing personally. Someone mocking you for taking your money, suit yourself, I'll take no part in it.

EDIT: And if he'd just said "doesn't look like I'm leaving any time soon" I think I'd have been okay with that, it's the "££££" "hahaha I'm taking your money for nothing" message that got me.

How can anybody back him for his comments? He has disappeared for the last 18 months - if not more. A total waste of space whilst he goes around bragging on twitter about how he still has 2 years of his lush contract to run down. A disgrace to this football club, his team mates, the supporters who pump their hard earned cash into this club and even more so a disgrace to football.

So if you'd been abused at matches and online for months and months you wouldn't respond every now and then with a bit of a pisstake back at them? I would. If you'd sit there and read through tweet after tweet telling you to fúck off (you wouldn't) then fair enough but I certainly wouldn't.

Shame on you if you want to take a player disrespecting your club by tweeting '2 years left on my contract hahaha £££££££'. I bet you'd be one of the first to moan about player wages. Just shows what a bollockless person you are.

Plus a professional footballer should no better than to bite to supporters. Fair enough if he'd actually done something useful, but producing occasional powderpuff substitute appearances for well over a season doesn't constitute to anything.

You'd lose your money then. I'd always so if our average club offers average players massive wages then in my opinion it's actual our clubs fault. Mental, isn't it? Seen as you ignored my last attempts to put yourself in their situation I'll ask you one again. If you were a decent Championship footballer (like, let's say, Paul Gallagher) and an alright Championship club offered to double your wages you'd say "oh I don't know boss, I don't think I'm that good at football really. How about we half my wages because that's what the fans would prefer and I think that's fairer based on my recent performances" wouldn't you?

Let's face it he's taken a lot of shit, sometimes he's been below average and once on Twitter he made a little jibe to a fan that no matter how much he wanted rid of him he was on a contract for 2 more years. He's gone now so you can stop crying about it.

Nice of you to resort to personal insults as per, though.

Yes, if I was in Gallagher's I'd have sat down 18 months ago and given it a right go. Evidently, he puts little to no effort in training, rarely even gets into the Under-21 squad. I'd have demanded a loan move long ago. Shows his lack of ambition and disrespect to BLATANTLY play down his contract. Disrespectful and disgraceful in every manner possible. When was I ever suggesting that he should cut his wages? He should have worked harder to get back into the team or gone out on loan.

Which is something most don't seem to grasp, mate.

I'm not going to get shirty over a bloody tweet; it's pathetic, and in any case Gallagher was no doubt insulted and provoked into replying - unfortunately he doesn't seem a smart lad so that's what his riposte was. Not saying it makes it alright, but it's hardly likes he's sat there with his feet up boasting about his wage packet - he's trying to one-up a fan giving him (no doubt cringeworthy) abuse online.

Unfortunately Twitter gives a platform for the most primitive of people to speak their mind and insult others when they really rather shouldn't.

It's not so much his decision to sit around and take his pay that makes me dislike him, it's the mocking of others.

Surely you can realise that it must be pretty damn frustrating for fans to see money wasted so I can understand why people tweeted him (although personal abuse was most unnecessary) but for him tot laugh at those who, IMO, have good reason to be frustrated at the situation is just plain unpleasant.

If you're going to do that then you do it in silence, you certainly don't laugh at those you're harming for your own benefit.

This:

I liked Gally and always enjoyed watching him play. Of course I don't like to see our club wasting money but I don't think it's right to hate Gally just because of mistakes from previous management. He is in the twilight of his career and it's only going downhill from here. No idea what he will do after football so just doing what is best for his family. Yeah it's a lot of money so we are probably jealous and we match our lives with his money. The reality is he is living a different life so doesn't have the same value of money as most of us.

As for his tweet of course it's in bad taste but it just shows that he isn't the brightest or just can't let things go. He has no need to reply to someone who just wants a bite to brag to their mates. But Gally was here for his football ability not brains!

Anyway good luck to the man, hope he scores a few corkers for Preston!
