ozleicester Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Liked him and felt he was unfairly treated by many fans. He was a skillful and entertaining player at a time when we were struggling. He DID head the ball, he DID tackle and he DID run hard but it was a tough time. but there will always be different opinions. Cheers and Good Luck
Leicester_Gav Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 His highlight reel wouldn't look too shabby on Youtube. Indeed it doesn't, even with the dodgy filming! Part 1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dclW66nRMyA Part 2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cJZuC1ri5c
Thracian Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Makes sense whatever proportion of his wages we'll doubtless still be paying. Even at his best Gallagher's no longer good enough for the side - and hasn't been for a while. Yes, he takes decent penalties and has posed a threat with his free-kicks, long-range shooting and the occasional clever pass. But occasional's not good enough to win promotion and Gallagher's the last bloke I'd choose to have alongside me in the trenches, apart from his lively sense of humour, that is. Defensively the bloke has never struck me as relishing a battle, either mentally or physically. And, sadly, he lacks the pace to make the best of his undoubted skills. Yes, he's scored some memorable goals and made a worthwhile contribution at times but Knockaert, for all his defensive naivity, has energy as well as skills in abundance and, looking at the rest of the competition for attacking and midfield positions, I just can't see how Gallagher would get a look in
Guest Col city fan Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 I don't 'hate' Gally. I simply think he is hugely and ridiculously overpaid for a player of his ability. It's impossible to argue that Gally represents 'value for money'. IMO.
Guest MattP Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Don't blame him for taking the money, it's a short life in this game and if someone is stupid enough to pay you far more than you are worth then milk it until the cows come home if you want, I would hope I wouldn't personally but I've never been in the situation. His tweet was out of order though and very insulting to the fans and the owners of the football club who pay those wages. A few nice memories from his career here most notably the hat trick he scored and the Forest free kick. I won't miss him though when he goes, what we have now in jhis area of the pitch is cheaper, cares more for the club and is far superior in terms of footballing ability.
Gubbins Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 I'm actually amazed at the amount of respect the donkey is being shown on here. Especially when you consider how despised Beckford is and the similarities between them (lack of effort/bottle, generally crap performances, scandoulously overpaid). All the farewells and good lucks are premature in any case as hel probably still be here this time next year.
Corky Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 How do we know he hasn't been working hard enough? Maybe, as you keep saying, he just isn't good enough and others are better? Look, he's gone, I doubt he'll come back, you can still wind him up on Twitter without it personally affecting the club, what's the issue now?
cityfanlee23 Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 He was lightweight, he did go missing at times, I'm sure he is a pain on Twitter, but he's scored some sublime goals that are worth remembering and was a reliable penalty taker. His time here is done and I wish him well for the future. He was the original marshall IMO, done so well, was a real asset to us, then went missing after the tradgedy, Good luck to him, he deserves it with the amount of sh1t he's gone through personally, let alone the fans on this forum and in the stands! Hope he does well

All the farewells and good lucks are premature in any case as hel probably still be here this time next year. Except Gallagher was a genuinely good player for us for a few years, gave us some sensational goals and memories and has very fair personal reasons that his head might not have been fully focused on Leicester City.
coolhandfox Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Gally was a good player for the first 3 years at the club, 118 games 25 goals. People seem to blame him for signing the bumper contract SGE gave him. He need's a new start somewhere else, can see him doing a good job for someone1
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Some of the actual hate, not dislike or unfancy - but actual intense hate for a player who all in all hasn't been a bad servant for us is nothing shy of embarrassing. Well said. I couldn't agree more. Good luck to him.
indierich06 Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Relax he's been offered a new deal. Oh yeah, because it's been money well spent so far.
hackneyfox Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 The use of the term 'hate' on this site is ridiculous. Far too emotive, a few questioned his attitude and that was it until FT jumped in feet first.
Brooksy Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Didn't rate him but he scored without a doubt the best goal I've seen live http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgBSS2F3drA Fast foward to 52 seconds. Also, the camera angle at 1.12 is superb.

davieG Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Paul Gallagher: Leicester man wants permanent Preston move Paul Gallagher accepts his career at Leicester is probably over and is hopeful of making his loan switch to Preston a permanent one in January. The once-capped Scotland international, 29, has rejoined League One North End from the Foxes, having had a temporary spell with the club in 2007-08. "This is a good chance for me to come here and make something happen," Gallagher told BBC Radio Lancashire. Forward Gallagher could make his debut against Tranmere on Saturday. Foxes boss Nigel Pearson told BBC Radio Leicester in September that he was willing to allow Gallagher, who has not featured at all for the Championship club this term, to depart on loan. The former Blackburn Rovers man continued: "I've still got a good relationship with the people there [at Leicester] and the manager, but I've got to start looking elsewhere to play football. "I want to stay [at Preston] as long as possible. I had a conversation with the manager at Leicester and he understands. I still live in this area so it is an ideal situation for me to hopefully do well and make it longer." Gallagher, who scored once in 19 appearances during his first stint with the Lilywhites, has also been granted permission to play in Preston's FA Cup first round tie against non-league Barnet.
jamesmilner Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 i heard he was a real bad influence on knocky !!
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Over-paid and under-achieving. He has not given a shit for over 2 years now. Awful attitude and will never make the best of his ability. All this bollocks about you can't blame him for taking the wages etc!! No you can't but you can certainly blame him for not pulling his weight and earning his substantial wage. Good riddance.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 The use of the term 'hate' on this site is ridiculous. Far too emotive, a few questioned his attitude and that was it until FT jumped in feet first. Which is exactly why I used the term in the context I did...
sylofox Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 Even if he goes for good he will be on our wage bill for the length of his contract here. They could never afford his wage so would guess it's only gonna save us about 2k a week if that. When is his contract here up anyone know? Not a fan but good luck. He don't deserve the shite he gets here.

Swalker Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 He was a good player for us lets not slag him off because you weren't having a go at him when he bagged some of his screamers for us. Good player and good move for both parties but he was never a bad influence on the dressing room I don't think

Meltonfossefox Posted 31 October 2013 Posted 31 October 2013 This is true. Might have been a good player for us but then showed where his priorities were with that comment. Lost respect for him after that. Glad he's going, liked him for what he did in the past, dislike him for what he is now. Out of interest what was the comment he was replying to??????
