foxfanazer Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Right winger is priority Poacher type striker would be nice too. Le Fondre maybe?
ktfox59 Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 tbh col.i have bn in harmony with NPs signing strategy this season, and where he is going with it. boyd not a bad profile imo
ktfox59 Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 but Alf fox, isnt going to sign shortterm. If u give hm contract, what about nuge etc
LCFC FOX Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Well I think we may well could be signing Mahrez and hopefully he makes a massive impact for a winger. I would also take a chance of Portsmouth Wallace. The young kid who we was linked with in the summer Becchio? Sharp? Ings? Baldock? Machida? All striker options that we could sign/loan who I think would do a job at this level.
Happy Fox Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 I wander if Ulloa from Brighton could be a player we could get?
LCCFox96 Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 Anymore news on this Riyad Mahrez from le harve? Would quite like to sign him as he looks useful.
MC Prussian Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 Riyad Mahrez and Conner Wickham for me! Based on what? Some cheap Twitter hype? Behave.
Soar Fox Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 lol Jordan Rhodes. 1. We haven't got that sort of money to spend whilst we're in the championship 2. I doubt Pearson would want to disrupt the team spirit by spending that much on one player whilst you've got first team members with contracts running out. 3. A new winger and left back is more of a priority than a striker imo.
kingfox Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 If we are capable of signing 1 or 2 players permanently, as Pearson was quoted to saying a couple weeks back, or it might of been Walsh if we do sign any players in January, they would have to be good enough to play in the Premier League. Personally like I've already said, if we want another striker I'd get one in on loan. But winger wise, I'd personally have a look at Matt Richie or Gary Mackay-Steven, I think there more than capable of plying their trade in the Prem.

Unsure of how much he'd cost, but I imagine he'd love to join and wages wouldn't be a problem, class player

Unsure of how much he'd cost, but I imagine he'd love to join and wages wouldn't be a problem, class player Transfermarkt value him at £525,000 This is why I should be a scout, and know a lot about Football. *cough* Facecloth aka I bully Kingfox
An Away Move Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 I went to see Bradford City with a mate recently, their striker Nahki Wells looked very sharp and is apparently their star man who they are worried about losing. Perhaps too lightweight for the Championship though?
The Horse's Mouth Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 He might be worth the gamble for a middle of the table sort of team, but in our situation no.
An Away Move Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 He looks to be a better finisher than Vardy and Nugent to me looks like he might be on the wane. I was really impressed with him in the game I saw (admittedly only one though).
Bryn Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 Problem with Wells is the money they'd want for him. I'd sooner we tried to get this Bamford on loan.
Grewks Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 Where could we improve? Left back Out wide Up top Obviously these players won't all be signed in the summer, but would certainly improve our squad in this league, and the prem left back Cresswell - Just looks quality at ipswich. In layman's terms, he is the Leighton Baines of the championship. Out wide Chris burke - Always impresses. Great dribbling, crossing, work ethic and chips in with a lot of goals. Surely a pearson type player. Anya - Quality player. Always impressive whenever i see watford play. Someone who can play in both wide positions and also at full back. Up top Becchio/Wickham loan - We need a mobile target man. Not one like Howard who will win the majority of headers, but one who will compete in the air, but also with the ability to score goals. George Boyd/Lee tomlin - We lack a center forward. Someone to link the midfield and attack, both of these do that job.

George Boyd/Lee tomlin - We lack a center forward. Someone to link the midfield and attack, both of these do that job. We don't need 5 new players. 2 strikers + 2 wingers is massive overloading. I agree we need a one winger and possibly a striker. But the you would pay for Anya whose worth 2-3mil now he international, Boyd who hull wouldn't sell and Tomlin because posh are thieving bastards would be way too expensive. Would have wickham or becchio on loan though. Aaron Cresswell would be a good addition to the squad if we went up. Definitely a player a promoted team looks to bring up with them if they make it. A cut above most left backs in this league and very decent for the Prem. But again he would be worth the outlay for half a season especially while we have an inform and big money Konchesky. Cresswell would not be happy to sit on the bench on arriving and neither would Konch.
Xen Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 Cresswell is a great shout. Gets plenty of assists for Ipswich - mostly from crosses/corners/free kicks. Out wide I reckon this Mahrez could be our man, from what I've heard. At the very least would give Knockaert some competition. Up front we should either get someone on loan, or try and press on with what we have. If Mahrez signs and turns out to be a gem on the right, we could always push Knocky forward into a CAM/CF role anyway, which could be an interesting option. Wickham on loan would be my number 1 choice, though.
Happy Fox Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 Callum Wilson from Coventry looks the real deal would be very cheap and scores goals, has pace and finishing albeit in League one but as a back up striker to Nugent and Vardy that is what we need, pace and finishing.
cjslcfc Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 A few whispers of Rhodes atm. That would be the signing to take us up IMO
Happy Fox Posted 27 December 2013 Posted 27 December 2013 A few whispers of Rhodes atm. That would be the signing to take us up IMO From where?, the only link I can see is some randomer on twitter, the likelihood of us signing him well is very slim having said that if we managed to somehow pull it off he would help us win the league a quality finisher at this level and in general, his record is phenomenal.

I'm as sceptical and doubtful of that signing being possible as the next person. If it was to somehow happen it would be phenomenal. With the chances we create as well...
TJB-fox Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 Would absolutely love kris commons here but id doubt that would happen. Plus on a random note, (if he joined) how many players would have played for forest derby and Leicester?
Jimmy Posted 28 December 2013 Posted 28 December 2013 The Rhodes crap came from Stringer on Mondays phone in
