Happy Fox Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Sheffield Wednesday are apparently negotiating with Sunderland for a permanent move for Connor Wickham, (Sky Sports) Get in Nigel, and quick! Is this some sort of joke ?they are skint!
SpoonFox Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Are we all forgetting that if Chris Wood was fit again and scoring goals we wouldn't be needing another striker? I'd be cautious of changing the squad dynamics too much from what happened last year when we self destructed. If anything, another midfielder in Riyad Mahrez may be all we need. If he can supply the ammunition for the forwards more than we are doing, we'll be laughing all the way to the prem. It's a settled squad, don't rock the boat.
Blue Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Wood is out until February or possibly later depending on his recovery. If Wickham is a possibility then we should get in their quick!
RizLCFC Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Is this some sort of joke ?they are skint! Milan has found some new investment I heard
Blue Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Even if true other than a prem team no one else would look as tempting for a hungry striker than us???
foxfanazer Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Are we all forgetting that if Chris Wood was fit again and scoring goals we wouldn't be needing another striker? but he isn't
LCCFox96 Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Wednesday are going for loan extension. Sunderland will not sell wickham just yet have spent a huge fee on him and he is only 20. Whilst he hasn't pulled trees up for them yet it would be silly to sell a bright talent early. Besides doubt they could afford him anyway. If we went for a loan I reckon we'd get him as he's been at Wednesday twice and Sunderland will want him to go elsewhere to test himself. Please not kevin Doyle - god no. Well past it and struggling in league 1.
Guest Bilo Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Is Ricardo Vaz Te fit yet? Might not be a bad signing, was excellent at this level with Barnsley and West 'Am and can play either on the wing or up front.
Aus Fox Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Heard a rumour today Wells is going to Blackburn, could mean they are ready to sell Rhodes, more than Likely to PL.
oldbluefox Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Yann Kermorgant - if only to stop him scoring against us.
VLC86 Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Good shout. Doubt he'd drop down. He said he wants to play first team football to get in the Croatia side for the World Cup and with the likes of mandzukic I doubt he will do that playing in the championship. Can anyone remember when Sven offered a ridiculous amount of money for him?....then we got beckford. if Jelavic thinks he's going anywhere near the world cup on his form then he has problems
LCCFox96 Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 if Jelavic thinks he's going anywhere near the world cup on his form then he has problems Precisely why he needs to move....
VLC86 Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Doyle 18 appearances 3 goals is he any better than what we have got no he isn't. Agreed, pointless selling Waggy and bringing Doyle in for me other than if Waggy isn't happy to be an impact sub.
Stadt Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Taylor-Fletcher is hungry enough. Wells is too much of a gamble and will be fairly pricey too. Doyle is terrible. Wickham would be a decent signing however he could be too expensive. Becchio on loan would be the ideal signing for us because he's prolific and good in the air as well as experienced.
Guest Col city fan Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 There aint half some crap posted on here... Ricardo Vaz fookin Te would be one of the last players I'd sign. He's miles past his best, blows hot and cold and pretty injury prone. Our success this season has been based on consistency of performance and a squad that appears to have gelled. Adam le Fondre is a good shout. Hes the type of player who you kinda think could be very good under the right manager and in the right team. Put it this way, with Vardy out for Millwall I'd rather see LeFondre with Nuge than any of the options we have fit currently. I also dont agree with people over Doyle. Again, in the right side, we've all seen that Doyle can be quality. Hes currently playing in a poor Wolves team. Wages may be the issue with Doyle. I suspect hes one of the best paid players in League 1.
Happy Fox Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Could we put in a cheeky bid for Adomah at Boro?

Guest Col city fan Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Could we put in a cheeky bid for Adomah at Boro? As I said last season () Adomah is a very good striker. I doubt Borough would have any interest in selling him.
Dan Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 I still think we could get away without signing another forward. Winger is, and always was the priority. If Mahrez is any good then he'll be the man - I doubt he'd expect to come here and walk into our side. For all we know he could be a donkey but he really does come across as what we're looking for but I suppose just how good he is, is still largely unknown. Wouldn't be against another left back coming in. The talk of Rhodes is laughable. Utterly laughable. Completely unrealistic until we get promoted.
Stadt Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 As I said last season () Adomah is a very good striker. I doubt Borough would have any interest in selling him. Before you think we should sign a player you should probably know what position they play. Adomah is a winger.
AnotherShitSeason Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 The AnotherShitSeason Crystal Ball predicts pages & pages of speculation on here. With just one signing. The French (Algerian) bloke. To be cleverly deployed by Nige in a Bakayogo impact sub way. For the Academy.
kingfox Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Kevin fookin Doyle, I'm actually glad we didn't sign him in August he is bloody shit. Vaz Te's spell at Barnsley and West Ham was a fluke, he's been utter shit the rest of the time. Nahki Wells however, someone will take a gamble on him sooner rather than later, so why couldn't it be us? The lad is very talented, as is the likes of Britt Assombalonga, Patrick Bamford, Callum Wilson. They will make the step up, but for us, and our expectations, would any of them be good enough in the Premier League. We've seen players like Dwight Gayle step up and kind of struggle. I think our best bet is getting a Premier League striker on loan, that includes Patrick Bamford
Simonb Posted 30 December 2013 Posted 30 December 2013 Mahrez for the wing option ... probably be benched but ideal option striker wise.. we have the strikers just need one to find form... a loan for someone like bamford wouldn't hurt but I wouldn't break the bank in jan to buy someone.. we are the leagues second highest scorers id look at a left back as a back up to konch... schlupps not good enough and bakayogo is awful
