But that's League 1.  Waggy looked mustard in League 1 and now look at him.

Waghorn was with us on loan in the Championship wasn't he? Though I agree with your point in principle.

Blackburn want 10million for Rhodes.

Been told fword have had a 7.5 million bid rejected. As if we are gonna spend that sort of money.

who did waggy play in l1 for?

As I said - people aren't mentioning Rhodes, Stringer is. Where he's got the information from who knows, or maybe he's just speculating like most on here.

Rhodes is a total non-starter unless we get promoted.

He was, we never had Waghorn in League One.

Think that would be a big mistake - strengthen whilst you are on top.

never suggested it was my favoured option just I dont see who we can get unless walsh or pearson pull something out there arse.

Has it occurred to you that Pearson might not want to bring anyone in ?

We are pretty much in exactly the same position as were this time last year when in came Wood,Kane, lingaard,Keane etc. The whole rhythm of the team went to rat shit and we didn't win for about 3 months ( or so it seemed )

I'm not saying this is what will happen but I think Pearson will have learnt from last year and any changes ( in or out ) will be minimum.

With the squad we have currently got we can beat any of the teams in and around us as we have already proved so why change anything ? The obvious danger is that other top teams strengthen but as we proved ourselves last year bringing in supposedly better players than you have already got doesn't always work.

Personally I'd sign a winger and a left back ...

I heard Leeds and trying to engineer a move to get Max Gradel back.

They'll have a job with that, I'd imagine moving back to the English second tier wouldn't help his national team hopes ahead of the WC. He's faring fairly well in France anyway, isn't he?

How about Wood and Waghorn to Huddersfield + £ 1m for James Vaughan?

Would do that. I'd rather keep wood and give them £2m though, but i doubt we have that kind of money to spend.

surely, if anyone signed in jan, it would be a short term deal or loan to improve squad and ensure promotion.A goalscorer with pedigree, exp, and who maybe isnt looking for long term committment either way.

step forward sir kevin of phillips.

Typical NP signing. Have bn a long term admirer of kevin. Ticks so many boxes short term.

I'd be surprised if Nige bought in anyone other than another solid grafter. Its the Pearson way. However, he could bring in George Boyd. He strikes me as a 'Pearson type player' and is a midfielder who scores goals. We could benefit from that type of player.
