Carl the Llama Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 As I've already said on this thread, Patrick Bamford is the guy. 16 goals for MK Dons already this season, loan runs out in January, on loan from Chelsea. Â http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIq4AcRj9AI Â Here he is, scoring 2 and setting up another. Â Better scout than Walsh me. *Something sensible.*
Russell sprout Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 only link I can put between these 2 is that I think wes is going out with leon bests sister, or best is going out with wes's sister, can't remember Didn't know that, Hope it stays that way.
Langston Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 But that's League 1. Â Waggy looked mustard in League 1 and now look at him. Â Waghorn was with us on loan in the Championship wasn't he? Though I agree with your point in principle.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Waghorn was with us on loan in the Championship wasn't he? Though I agree with your point in principle. He was, we never had Waghorn in League One.
Bayfox Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Blackburn want 10million for Rhodes. Been told fword have had a 7.5 million bid rejected. As if we are gonna spend that sort of money. But that's League 1. Waggy looked mustard in League 1 and now look at him. who did waggy play in l1 for?
Dan Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Simply astounded that people are talking about Rhodes. Ridiculous.
Happy Fox Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Rhodes would be immense, think we will bring in a forward from Europe
MGLCFC Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 As I said - people aren't mentioning Rhodes, Stringer is. Where he's got the information from who knows, or maybe he's just speculating like most on here.
Bayfox Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 For the record unless a decent loan deal comes up I dont think we will be in for anyone in jan.
Guest Bilo Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Rhodes is a total non-starter unless we get promoted.
MGLCFC Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Think that would be a big mistake - strengthen whilst you are on top.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Blackburn spent up to 9mill on Rhodes, how does anybody see him a viable option?Â
Carl the Llama Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Waghorn was with us on loan in the Championship wasn't he? Though I agree with your point in principle. Â Â He was, we never had Waghorn in League One. Â Â who did waggy play in l1 for? Â Â What you guys talking about?Â
Bayfox Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Think that would be a big mistake - strengthen whilst you are on top. never suggested it was my favoured option just I dont see who we can get unless walsh or pearson pull something out there arse.
Matt Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 I heard Leeds and trying to engineer a move to get Max Gradel back.
Trumpet Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 We must be very attractive at the minute with us being top.
ramadaone Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Has it occurred to you that Pearson might not want to bring anyone in ? We are pretty much in exactly the same position as were this time last year when in came Wood,Kane, lingaard,Keane etc. The whole rhythm of the team went to rat shit and we didn't win for about 3 months ( or so it seemed ) I'm not saying this is what will happen but I think Pearson will have learnt from last year and any changes ( in or out ) will be minimum. With the squad we have currently got we can beat any of the teams in and around us as we have already proved so why change anything ? The obvious danger is that other top teams strengthen but as we proved ourselves last year bringing in supposedly better players than you have already got doesn't always work. Personally I'd sign a winger and a left back ...
Langston Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 I heard Leeds and trying to engineer a move to get Max Gradel back. Â They'll have a job with that, I'd imagine moving back to the English second tier wouldn't help his national team hopes ahead of the WC. He's faring fairly well in France anyway, isn't he?
49er Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 How about Wood and Waghorn to Huddersfield + £ 1m for James Vaughan?
Devonfox1884 Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 How about Wood and Waghorn to Huddersfield + £ 1m for James Vaughan? Would do that. I'd rather keep wood and give them £2m though, but i doubt we have that kind of money to spend.
ktfox59 Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 surely, if anyone signed in jan, it would be a short term deal or loan to improve squad and ensure promotion.A goalscorer with pedigree, exp, and who maybe isnt looking for long term committment either way. step forward sir kevin of phillips. Typical NP signing. Have bn a long term admirer of kevin. Ticks so many boxes short term.
Guest Col city fan Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 I'd be surprised if Nige bought in anyone other than another solid grafter. Its the Pearson way. However, he could bring in George Boyd. He strikes me as a 'Pearson type player' and is a midfielder who scores goals. We could benefit from that type of player.
ktfox59 Posted 26 December 2013 Posted 26 December 2013 Signing players on contracts that are anyway substantive just adds to the uncertainty of current contract issues at the club and ffp.
