Potential January signings

If there's one thing we ought to take from Peterborough it's their scout(s). They've been at it for years. Signing players on the cheap and demanding ridiculous fees when they turn out very good - and often raking in the money too.

No point going for Assombalonga. They'll want about four million.

Mind you we'd probably recoup that in a week with shirt sales.

If we're looking at strikers then I'd look at taking Patrick Bamford on loan. Wouldn't be too far from his family as he's from Grantham and would be a step up from MK Dons. Seen an interview with him on FLS and he also comes across very well spoken and bright (dare I say it, even a bit camp lol).

Before you think we should sign a player you should probably know what position they play. Adomah is a winger.

Can and does play both...

Also, Serge Gnabry would absolutely tear the Championship a new arsehole if we signed him. Would happily rotate him with Knocky and Dyer, could even allow Knocky to play in behind Vardy and drop Nugent.

I've said this before. We should sign Peterborough's scouts.

Please not Patrick Bamford. He went to my school and he's really no better than Waghorn.

Did he put the ball through your legs or summit?

Adomah would be a very good signing, has done well in two mediocre Championship sides in Bristol City and Middlesbrough.

He's a 15 goal a year man at best which is what Vardy is averaging but he offers far more in terms of movement and being a pain in the arse than Fryatt could dream of.

Even though that's not his best Championship return?

Wouldn't do us any harm as an option but he's a limited striker. No great pace, doesn't spot the runners early enough, fairly easy to shadow into cul-de-sacs because he's a bit one footed and he's not a great dribbler.

Doesn't score the widest range of goals but is more an 18-yard predator. He's virtually no threat in the air, too easily knocked off the ball for a striker and I've never regarded him a class passer.

Injury free though, he does need marking and would probably be good for the six or eight goals that might see us over the promotion line.

I think an 18 - yard predator is exactly what we've needed. The amount of times Vardy has bust a gut to get to a ball and managed to somehow get it back into the area for there to be no-one there is criminal. Sometimes the nearest candidates have been King and Drinkwater who have sprinted past Nugent to get there! He's not fast and he can't dribble but he does read the game well imo and is prepared to take a gamble. Would be a good option to have.

Sorry.

But you should know better mediocre and Bristol city in the same sentence lol lol lol lol lol

Guidetti is Swedish.

We are paper thin in midfield with absolutely no cover for injuries or suspensions.

Gary Gardner from villa.

We have plenty of cover in midfielder. Unless you're on about wingers?

I understand the point we don't really have a "general" in mid field who can also take and give out hits a Roy Keane type player. James is going that way and hopefully will get there. Drink has the skill but not the strength the same as King

I think Drinkwater is quite strong on the ball, due to his low centre of gravity.  His defensive play has also improved tenfold!

^ good point, but a player like Koren would take our midfield to the next level. Shame we did not get him last time, not that Hull would have ever sold him though!

I really like the idea of signing Gary Mackay-Stevens, very much in the mould of the type of wingers we play and would be pushing both Lloyd and Knockaert for a starting place before long.  Not sure how much he'd cost though I reckon he'd be up for signing for a top of the Championship side and is someone who I think would be able to cut it in the Premiership at some point.
