broughtonblue Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 So WBA have decided to sack Steve Clarke, I find this unbelievable, they are not a big club as such and I think they were doing well under Clarke. It was good to see a young British manager in the prem doing quite well, some clubs seem so short sighted. Really hope it's not a case of another club going down the foreign manager route,
justfoxes Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Now WBA Have sacked Clarke what's the odds on the baggies trying to get their hands on our boss ??? SOD OFF ALBION HE'S OURS !!
Mark_w Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Please give him a new contract, I can't take this (Also, that's an absolutely ridiculous decision).
jimmeh Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 No chance! It will be a manager with premiership experience
Mark_w Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Really hope it's not a case of another club going down the foreign manager route, I bloody hope it is, as long as it keeps them off Nigel.
Tielemans63 Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Unbelievable. The first real sticky patch they've been through since he took over and they've binned him - disgraceful. I can't help but think that the WBA Xmas party story hasnt helped his cause. Their chairman is a bit of a **** though isn't he? He sacked Di Matteo when he didn't deserve it either.
morris1234 Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Just seen this and also could not believe it! He turned them into a dangerous side and not giving them funds to replace a goal scorer in lukaku was a ridiculous decision when they showed a lot of people that they are a dangerous side!
suffolk fox Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Hope so but unfortunately no chance they will want an experienced premiership manager.
Dickov22 Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 It'll be a foreign 'coach'. Crazy decision. They overachieved last season and had Lukaku.
lcfcsnow Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Now WBA Have sacked Clarke what's the odds on the baggies trying to get their hands on our boss ??? SOD OFF ALBION HE'S OURS !! Exceptionally low I'd have thought.
TJB-fox Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 He'll be at the bottom of their shortlist I imagine. Didn't he work there before though? So he may still have links to the club
Happy Fox Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 I doubt WBA would go for an unproven manager.
Happy Fox Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 20/1 to become the next WBA manager hmmm. http://www.skybet.com/football/specials/manager-specials
Number 6 Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Was talking to a friend before the sacking saying I'd be worried that Pearson would be in the frame should Clarke go. Previous ties there and wouldn't cost them an arm and a leg, which they would like. They also have a very decent chance of staying up so wouldn't be surprised for NP to take it if offered.
Fox92 Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Very harsh in my opinion. Did well with them last year, got a decent squad together and this is his first real test and they've got rid. Same as what they did with Di Matteo. Should take a leaf out of Newcastle's book; they did well under Pardew in his first full season, struggled somewhat last season and are doing alright again now. Wonder who they'll go for.
ian_marshall Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Imagine Roberto Di Matteo will be on their shortlist given his previous successful stint at the club and his success at Chelsea. Can also see Malky Mackay being in contention as the BBC reported earlier today that the Cardiff board held a meeting before today's game to discuss his future.
Kitchandro Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Fvcking hell. I did not see that coming. Ridiculous decision.
lgfualol Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 I don't think he'd last long with a premiership team . He's good for us though.
Happy Fox Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Hypothetically he left who should we appoint? My three choices would be: Powell, Grayson and Solskaer.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Hypothetically he left who should we appoint? My three choices would be: Powell, Grayson and Solskaer. Very hypothetical this but if he left I would look at Mark Robins always rated him as a manager. But anyway don't get the Clarke sacking but lots of their fans did want hIm gone on 606 earlier. No idea who'd they'd go after either.
Stadt Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 I'd take Clarke if Pearson was to go to WBA however unlikely. I think Pearson wouldn't want to work for the chairman there because he's obviously a bit of a nob and Pearson likes security.
Stadt Posted 14 December 2013 Posted 14 December 2013 Has Leicester pool made a poll yet? I think Jol could be in the frame.
