Finnegan Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Hahahahahahaaa magical, i'm gonna do it Finners Report back with your findings!
Babylon Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Been looking on twitter and stumbled across an English scout of the french leagues, and from what this bloke has seen he was suitably impressed. Obviously could be shit, but nice to see opinions of someone who has watched him play. Le Havre Oswald
Dan Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Got to agree with Kingfox on this one I think. Some of the stuff being spouted, especially on twitter, about this guy is just plain ridiculous. People saying he's the "missing link", "amazing signing", "anything else after him is a bonus". People are judging him on 2 things - a 7 minute Youtube Video (where I actually think he didn't look that good) and the fact that we bought a similar player from a similar club who has been relatively successful and become very popular with the fans. I think its pretty sensible to say that none of us know enough to actually judge this bloke. A few shit games and people will be calling for his head, despite heralding him as a messiah now. Whilst this isn't wrong, I do think a lot of it is faith in the scouting team - they've got a phenomenal track record.
21st Century Fox Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 No matter where the players are coming from the club make sure the drivers of the car come down Raw Dykes road so the first thing they see is the club shop. Le Harve have got a beauty of a stadium to look at. It really is a beaut AND they can hold concerts!!
MC Prussian Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 It really is a beaut AND they can hold concerts!! Straddling a bit from the original topic, but I'd love it if our owners could improve the King Power stadium facilities on the outside a bit. More light, more color or more glass or all three of them, please. I love the color effect, reminds me of Bayern's Allianz Arena.

MC Prussian Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 The guys on one of the official Le Havre AC forums are on one hand shocked that the club didn't resign Mahrez (according to some of them, their president Louvel seems to have a bad hand at binding players to the club). On the other hand, there are some voices that call Mahrez a bit overrated and that he doesn't have a lot to offer "other than a couple of decent flicks and a horse's haircut". And the 500'000 Euro mentioned earlier is allegedly the sum needed for us to buy Mahrez out of his current contract that runs up until the end of this season. http://www.hac-foot.com/forum/index.php Others are saying Mahrez simply demanded too much money to stay with Le Havre after having turned pro and that he had his sights on a transfer to a bigger club since the start of this season. The general consensus is that their club is letting young players leave too early and that they lack true ambition. http://forum.infohac.com/index.php?page=forum&idf=5&PHPSESSID=273e6e2bfd1b0a3f128426adf58326ef

But this talk of 40k is so low a figure
Dan Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Surely I'm not the only one who's established 40k was blatantly a typo that was meant to say 400k?
Finnegan Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 He should get on well with Morgan then !!!! But this talk of 40k is so low a figure Pretty obviously a typo.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Pretty obviously a typo. Properly is, but no one has found a reliable source for a figure
Xen Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 I saw that. Given that figure of half a million were being bandied around, it's probably just a typo. I'm guessing they meant £400k instead. Surely I'm not the only one who's established 40k was blatantly a typo that was meant to say 400k? Beat you to it
Dan Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 I still think that's pretty cheap in todays market for a young winger. He may be shite for all we know but I just don't see it.
Chazwaz Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Obviously a typo even Waghorn would go for more than 40k.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 I still think that's pretty cheap in todays market for a young winger. He may be shite for all we know but I just don't see it. It's cheap due to his contract situation so both parties are happy like.
kingfox Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 But he isn't shit is he, he makes no more mistakes than Konchesky or Moore. He did last season though, he got beaten pretty often, and defensively he didn't look that stable, others will agree, right this minute I think he is good enough for us at Championship level, he still isn't the best defensively, but he's good enough, and has great pace. If we get promoted though, I don't think he will be good enough, he's had chances in the Prem before, and I ain't been impressed when I've seen him play for Norwich, Man Utd & Pompey. Got to agree with Kingfox on this one I think. Some of the stuff being spouted, especially on twitter, about this guy is just plain ridiculous. People saying he's the "missing link", "amazing signing", "anything else after him is a bonus". Exactly, sensibility.
Bettsj2 Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 He's basically the next Thierry Henry. Very excited about this. 😜

Exactly, sensibility. No, he really didn't. There is a big difference between "shit" and "isn't the best defensively". We are a championship club, and at the time he signed looked miles away from being anything else. Good enough for Championship level is all he currently needs to, it does not make him shit that he may not make the step up.
lcfc1994 Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 'Leicester will sign French winger Riyad Mahrez, 22, from Le Havre in a £400,000 deal.' BBC Sport
