I didn't think we were allowed to talk to places if a deal hasn't already been agreed?

That's right. We got into big trouble once for trying to tap up Bognor Regis.

Deal never did go through!

I work at the Marriott opposite the ground, as I went in for a piss in room 101 earlier there was a poker table set up.

Sat around the table were the following:

Nigel Pearson

Top

Tony Robinson

Some lad with a stubble beard with peroxide bleached hair tips.

Anyways, I finished my piss and asked the boys if they wanted the light on. A unanimous 'no' rang through the room so I duly obliged. We're used to this sort of stuff at work, what with the likes of Nigel Adkins checking in and out within the space of 10 minutes, and Craig Mackail-Smith getting handcuffed to the bed posts by that Nancy- Sven's ex bird.

Whilst I was checking in an elderly man who confirmed his address was 'Arrrrgh', whom smelt strangely like a cess pit, a phone call came through on the room service line.

Room 101.

What could they possibly need?

Pen and paper was the reply, so again, duly obliged.

Just as I got to the room a gentleman wearing a 'French FA' t-shirt comes bundling out of the lift screaming some French at me, the only word I can translate is 'Mahrez'. He bursts through the door, nabs the lad (freshly dealt hand still in tact) and drags him down to an awaiting car.

Think the deals off lads :/

None of that happened, did it.

Technically he can talk to anyone even if Le Harve say no because you can plan a foreign transfer if you are out of contract at the end of the season. They are in a no win situation, either keep him till the end of the season and he leaves anyway or get a fee for him now and allow him to move on. He will sign for us it's just a matter of time, they are no doubt trying to hard ball us with no position to do so in reality.

He was stood on the pitch today. If we'd not agreed a fee surely he'd not have been allowed to talk with us.

well Le havre have obviously given us permission to speak to him then havent they. This is fairly common in transfers, although I cant think of any lcfc deals like that

You know it'd be some ***** from the flats on filbert street.

When they originally applied for the concert license before they found it was unsafe there was an objection from a women who lived on Catherine street (3 miles away) that said the noise would effect her

You can talk to other clubs with 6 months of your contract left so I imagine this is what's happened.

He's no doubt agreed to join and we are trying to get it done now instead of in July....

He was shown around the ground earlier and was being put through his paces at the training ground also. Would be very surprised if it's not finalised tomorrow

Apparently it's done, it's possible Le Havre just wanted a bit more cash, they obviously rate him very highly!

Or they just need the cash?

so its done then? I thought there were still some loose ends with le havre to sort out

There's an interview part at the bottom of the article in which Mahrez explains the interest from Leicester.

Basically, we didn't want to wait until Le Havre played Metz at home (today Thursday) out of fear he could injure himself (according to Mahrez himself, he had promised to play this one last game for Le Havre before departing for England). That's why Leicester wanted to complete the deal as soon as possible.

He somewhat regrets leaving Le Havre because he owes the club a lot and he's sort of sad to leave all his friends behind. But in the end, he says he feared a small club like Le Havre just wouldn't pay him the salary he was expecting for the upcoming season.

He also says that we were the only club with a concrete offer, clubs like Torino were only inquiring about him, nothing more. He had his mind made up pretty quickly, opting for Leicester and the birth country of football, because "Leicester are in an excellent position to return to the Premier League".

One for next season if he signs i think, might get a few run outs from the bench but his fitness levels are probably not up to our standard yet....

Just hope he's another Knocky...
