Bluetintedspecs Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 I'll take some of that as a compliment, but to be honest Mark, on De Laet in some aspects I was actually right. People have nothing to go on here though. And like you say, all you can do is dream, but for people to actually say it's exciting and he is going to be good is silly. It's not saying he might be good, some people think he will instantly be good. I'm on about some comments on here, but people on twitter as well, these 12-16 year olds on the hype piss me off. Yes we need a winger, and on a scale this is just what we need, but for once, people have nothing to go on here, because nobody knows anything about him. If we signed a winger, like Bakary Sako being an example, people can give straight forward honest opinions on him, because we've actually seen him play before, on Mahrez nobody can, unless you're stupid enough to think youtube videos are an ideal source. Agree with you KF, incredibly some people make judgements based on FM & FIFA, can you believe that stupidity?

But you're still missing the point. If we signed Sako, we'd all know he was flawed. But for a couple of days this guy is perfect - exactly because we know sod all about him if we're honest. That's the exciting bit. Have some overreacted ? Probably. But what's the worst that can happen ? They'll have to revise opinions downwards ? We're city fans - we're experts at that ! Enjoy the fantasy. I'm sure reality isn't far behind it !!!
Langley Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 All this hype, on a player we don't know, and haven't seen play...EVER! You'd all be crying if he is shit or average. Or if he plays exceptionally well in his first game, everyone will be like Mahrez is class, then he turns out to be a Danny N'Guessan. I for one will not be bumming him off, as soon as he steps foot into our club. You know the Foxes Talk rule, if there is a Youtube video he is class. Sign him up on a 10 year deal.
cityfanlee23 Posted 7 January 2014 Author Posted 7 January 2014 Facking hell lads, the stick I got for the tweets I sent to him (which were for a joke) take at look at some of you! **** sake love the contradiction
mkaiser1 Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 According to the French language Wikipedia he has been our player since 2012! http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riyad_Mahrez Riyad Mahrez Pas d'image ? Cliquez ici. Situation actuelle Équipe Leicester City Numéro X Biographie Nom Riyad Mahrez Nationalité France Naissance 21 février 1991 (22 ans) Lieu Sarcelles (Île-de-France) Taille 1,79 m (5′ 10″) Poste Attaquant Parcours junior Saisons Club 2009-2010 Quimper CFC 27 (2) 2010-2011 Le Havre AC 60 (24) Parcours professionnel 1 Saisons Club M. Legend_in_blue Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 He has pace and looks decent playing across the midfield. Comfortable on the ball, carries it well. Judging by the youtube video he will be successful because he has pace. This and he gives us more options. Exciting prospect, just what is needed.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 why would we loan him out? The main reason not to is because he us an overseas player it would be very unsettling, the case for would be to build up his fitness/stamina ready to bring him into the prem next year, Oh shit was that a joke !
Babylon Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 I'll take some of that as a compliment, but to be honest Mark, on De Laet in some aspects I was actually right. In some aspects You rubbished every one of our signings apart from James, who you wrote off as the wrong type of player. Of DD and James you said "Just a question of will they pay off, but if they oust the likes of King, Wellens, Danns etc... many fans won't be happy."
Swarles Barkley Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 We've signed French wizard number 2, Mahrez, Mahrez. His Twitter told us he was blue, Mahrez, Mahrez, He plays with jersey 28, He's going to be a fvcking great, Riyad Mahrez, Leicester through and through (The above chant a takes various assumptions into account) That sounds decent! But that's to the Torres chant ain't it?Will also work well to the Suarez chant.. He came across the channel We know that much is true(needs work!) I just can't get enough I just can't get enough And from his twitter feed We all knew he was a blue I just can't get enough I just can't get enough He's scores a goal and the kop goes wild And I just can't seem to get enough mahrez Du du du du du du du du... Riyad Mahrez
kingfox Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 In some aspects You rubbished every one of our signings apart from James, who you wrote off as the wrong type of player. Of DD and James you said "Just a question of will they pay off, but if they oust the likes of King, Wellens, Danns etc... many fans won't be happy." That was back then, I've learned since then. Drinkwater has had shit spells though. James at the time, I didn't think he was the type of player we needed, nothing wrong with that. De Laet I said defensively he is shit, and I have always stood by that. But that was then, this is now, and right now I'm being more than reasonable with my views.
Mark_w Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 James at the time, I didn't think he was the type of player we needed, nothing wrong with that. Apart from the fact that it was wrong.
kingfox Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Apart from the fact that it was wrong. Others said the same thing though, everybody wanted a defensive midfielder back then
Poznan34 Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Oh dear, wears short sleeves and gloves at the same time. The Kop won't like that.
dmayne7 Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Others said the same thing though, everybody wanted a defensive midfielder back then I didn't . Doesn't matter that you were wrong but at least have the balls to admit it. Especially considering that recent self-indulgent post, proclaiming that you were right about everything (when in fact you weren't)!
kingfox Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 I didn't . Doesn't matter that you were wrong but at least have the balls to admit it. Especially considering that recent self-indulgent post, proclaiming that you were right about everything (when in fact you weren't)! I've always admitted it, Babylon likes trawling up past stuff, to make people look like an idiot, when he full knows I've admitted to being wrong. I have never claimed to be right about everything, hence why I've admitted to being wrong sometimes. I'm right on some occasions though, and just because it's me, people don't like it when I'm right.
Mark_w Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 I've always admitted it, Babylon likes trawling up past stuff, to make people look like an idiot, when he full knows I've admitted to being wrong. I'd make a joke about you doing a perfectly good job of that without Babylon raking up old posts but I've been warned not to talk to you, you're trouble.
Captain... Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 So any actual news, I can't be bothered to read through 560 posts, I am sure they are all absolute gems, but, you know, I'm going to bed soon and if I read too many of Kingfox's posts I get weird twisted dreams.
sylofox Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 I'd make a joke about you doing a perfectly good job of that without Babylon raking up old posts but I've been warned not to talk to you, you're trouble. I am no lover of KF and not often I agree but he had a point today. All he was saying is whats all the love in with this guy like he's Knockys twin. No one has seen him play all they have seen is a few bits off of youtube. If he don't hit the ground running they will all turn on him. He's not even signed and still may not (although it's looking good) and people are making up songs for him. Yesterday it was posted we had permission to talk to him some read it as he had signed. All KF was saying is lets get real about it. That was all I seen that he had said but his post were going missing at some pace.

Pretty much done apparently. Confirmation expected from the club tomorrow.

Langston Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Stringer is definitely going to use the word "peroxide" on this lad's debut, isn't he?
Babylon Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 De Laet I said defensively he is shit, and I have always stood by that. But he isn't shit is he, he makes no more mistakes than Konchesky or Moore.
Lesta Legend Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 De Laet I said defensively he is shit, and I have always stood by that. But he isn't shit is he, he makes no more mistakes than Konchesky or Moore. More goals conceded last year down our left flank than the right, most tackles made by De laet - he's an attacking full back yes but he's ok defensively - we definitely look better since he's returned
