Buzzell Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 Nigel Pearson is unaware of an improved bid from Fulham for highly-rated Leicester defender Liam Moore, nor would the Foxes boss welcome one. Fulham last week had an offer of around £2million for the player rejected and were told that he was not for sale. Leicester see academy product Moore as an integral part of their plans as Pearson attempts to end the Midlands club's decade-long absence from the top flight. And Moore played his part on Saturday helping the Foxes keep a clean sheet before David Nugent's late goal gave them a 1-0 win at Leeds - a sixth straight Sky Bet Championship victory that extended their lead at the top of the table to five points. However, reports since have linked the Barclays Premier League strugglers with a new move for the England Under-21 international. Pearson said: "I've not heard that. Even if it's made up I'm not really particularly interested in all honesty. "I've said many times that I want to try and keep the team and squad together. "If a club came in with a higher bid then my view is I don't want to sell him, but sometimes as a football manager you don't always have the luxury of having what you want. "But I spoke to (director of football) Terry (Robinson) and we're quite clear on how we want to go forward with the squad. We've put ourselves in a good position so I don't see any reason to jeopardise the work we've done so far this season by letting one of our young players depart." After gaining first-team experience with loan spells at Bradford and Brentford, Moore has established himself in the Leicester team and emerged as one of the best young talents outside of the Premier League. Newcastle are among a handful of other top-flight clubs to have sent scouts to watch the 20-year-old but Fulham are the only ones to have made a bid. Moore has 18 months remaining on his current contract at the King Power Stadium. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/9125733/championship-leicester-aiming-to-keep-fulham-target-liam-moore? He's not going anywhere then. Keep the bids coming Fulham
Kitchandro Posted 20 January 2014 Posted 20 January 2014 12 pages of the majority of foxestalk repeating what Pearson has already said. FFS, a shit bid goes in for one player and the whole forum goes crazy.
mozartfox Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 This topic has certainly caused a split in opinions. What concerns me is, any thing that risks upsetting momentum as we enter the last third of the season, should be avoided at all costs. In the scheme of things, to fail to get to the promised landed versus a 5/6M cash injection now, is s no brainer. Status Quo to prevail please. Besides, looking at Fulham's position, signing Liam Moore is akin to using a 'cork' to save the Titanic. They are going down and this would be a crap move for a young player and potentially very bad for his back, picking the ball out of the back of the net on a regular basis.
sk3since03 Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 If 5mil being quoted is true then I'd snap their hand off!
AnotherShitSeason Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 If 5mil being quoted is true then I'd snap their hand off! Maybe we could buy Matt Mills back?
LCCFox96 Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 Are there any decent CB prospects in the youths? Alie Sesay is supposedly decent but won't be ready for the championship yet. I'm sorry but I just can't see any benefits of £5mil against loosing a key player in our team. Take away the fact he is a young prospect why would we sell him anyway and risk upsetting the momentum of our team. We are in a top position at the moment and Liam Moore is the first player since Wes Morgan joining that has provided solid second choice cover for him. With Miquel injured and SSL going out on loan we would also only have wasilewski available for the time being as well. It's a no brainer to keep him imo. I think Pearson sees that too and we can just the board of directors do and all.

Manwell Pablo Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 Five million is enough to make you think about it that's for certain, it would take some clever buying but you could get in a decent replacement for 2.5 and there is no guarantee Moore isn't going to turn shit after a good start a la every other youth team player we've had come through the ranks, pretty much. Mind you promotion is worth 60 million and I'm not entirely convinced it's worth the risk of disrupting the back four. Push it up a million or two more though and I'm afraid they'd have a deal for me.
Manwell Pablo Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 140 million per season according to Lee. Isn't promotion worth 120 million? No idea it's going up all the time. More than 5 million that's what I was getting at.
yorkie1999 Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 If we don't need the money, why would we want to sell a quality defender who's both young and settled. It's not as though the money would go in our bank accounts.
dmayne7 Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 Are there any decent CB prospects in the youths? As Ric said, Pepe Ngoma is meant to be class. Had a great game against Man U and their commentators were waxing lyrical about him

sylofox Posted 21 January 2014 Posted 21 January 2014 You having a laugh? Ok it would cause disruption but how many of our key players did we buy for a combined fee of less? Dyer, Kasper, drinky, Nuge, Knocky and Vardy all cost less combined. Clearly not a joke. No not at all. Can we replace him in this window as good or better. (for less) The wage will be higher (no doubt liams will if we go up) Can you guarantee there will be no disruption to the squad. If you can answer without question a yes to all 3 then I'll accept 5mill. Otherwise IMO it's a joke.
Happy Fox Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2543921/Liam-Moore-angry-Leicester-potential-Fulham.html Moore angry with Leicester about lack of communication over Fulham interest By SAMI MOKBEL PUBLISHED: 12:51, 22 January 2014 | UPDATED: 12:51, 22 January 2014 0 View comments Fulham target Liam Moore has been angered by Leicester’s handling of his protracted move to Craven Cottage. Rene Meulensteen has already seen a £2million offer rejected by the Foxes this month, though the west London club are expected to return with an improved bid. And Moore, who is viewed as one of the brightest talents outside the top-flight, has grown frustrated at the lack of dialogue between Leicester officials and himself regarding Fulham’s pursuit. +4 Interest: Liam Moore is being chased by several Premier League clubs, including Fulham +4 Hold on: But Leicester boss Nigel Pearson is desperate to keep the defender The 20-year-old defender feels he has been left in the dark over the Cottagers’ interest in him, while Leicester chiefs have not raised the issue of a new contract despite interest from the top-flight. While the England Under-21 international has a good relationship with manager Nigel Pearson and the playing squad, sources close to the player claim he feels ‘disrespected’ by the club’s hierarchy. Newcastle, West Brom, Swansea and Aston Villa have all scouted Moore this season, but Fulham are the most advanced in their interest. Moore has 18 months left to run on his existing deal at Leicester. Itsthejoeker Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 So the issue is that he wants a contract extension, rather than the option to leave?
Unabomber Posted 22 January 2014 Posted 22 January 2014 This is probably Fulham's doing with them trying to unsettle him.
