Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Cant really see the need for him but hope hes a good singing. In NP we trust
Corky Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Wonder if we'll sing "You'll never play for England" to him again like we did at Filbert St when he played for Sunderland?
MooseBreath Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Only thing that concerns me about this is that might further limit Chris Wood's game time. Getting Wood back up and running will be more beneficial long term than playing KP.
21st Century Fox Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 I hear Werther's Originals have got in quickly as a player sponsor.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Only thing that concerns me about this is that might further limit Chris Wood's game time. Getting Wood back up and running will be more beneficial long term than playing KP. If Woods' picked up another knock, there's no need to rush him back. I'm a big fan of CW and love seeing him as part of the team but it only takes a knock to Nugent or Reg Vardy to leave us really thin up front.

Corky Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Can't wait until we are promoted, the squad go up to the posh seats in the main stand to salute the crowd on the pitch and then Kev arrives on his stairlift.
Jace Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Is everyone calling him Chris Woods on purpose now like a Foxestalk joke or are the majority still genuinely spelling his name wrong?
Jace Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 No idea Jack Hobbs. You should be Corker like your jokes
Finnaldo Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dn2AAYQJhY8 Quick interview from Kev. Is it me or does the whole setup look like a interrogation room from Guantanamo Bay?
RonnieTodger Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 I ****ing loved him before he came here, what a great player he's been. Have we ever had a 40 year old play competitive football for us before?
FreddieFox Posted 16 January 2014 Posted 16 January 2014 Even at the age of FORTY he still looks fitter than most. Really, what have we got to lose? He has always been a top pro.
Brown Fox Posted 16 January 2014 Posted 16 January 2014 The bit that stands out for me in that interview is near the end where he says 'if the manager wants me to take a few shooting sessions after training I'll be happy to do so'. I don't think anything bad can come from this signing. He'll be around helping the lads and hopefully if we need he can score a few important goals for us. He seems to acknowledge he's not going to start every game and he'll take his opportunity if it comes. Nice bit of business I say!
ozleicester Posted 16 January 2014 Posted 16 January 2014 Looks like we tracked him down at a bull ring. He's holding the wrong colour up though. Can somebody photoshop a bull running towards him? to be fair it they only had two pics to choose from... Pleased to ave him though
Mark_from_USA Posted 16 January 2014 Posted 16 January 2014 to be fair it they only had two pics to choose from... Pleased to ave him though That's America! Is he going to retire here then?
Sampson Posted 16 January 2014 Posted 16 January 2014 If he scores he'll break Arthur Chandler's record of being the oldest ever goalscorer for us.
absolutelegend Posted 16 January 2014 Posted 16 January 2014 Can't say I'm over intereted in this signing, as I can't ever see him starting. However, hope he can add something to our promotion push over the next few months. If he does then everyone will be happy and nigel will be a genius
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 January 2014 Posted 16 January 2014 Anyone thinking he's being touted as a player signed to score 20 between now an May is missing the point. I think this is very much like the Chris Powell signing in NP's first tenure; he'll offer a calm head and another option from the bench, but he'll mainly be employed to be a 'good head' around the training ground and move into coaching. I cannot see this signing doing any harm at all, and he seems to still know where the goal is. Spot on.... I think this is exactly why Pearson wants him. Lets face it, nobody in football seems to have a bad word to say about the bloke.

Jonezy Posted 16 January 2014 Posted 16 January 2014 Whats the saying 'form is temporary, but class is permanent'.
Crinklyfox Posted 16 January 2014 Posted 16 January 2014 There's quite a few people concentrating on his age. Personally I don't care if he's 30 or 40 provided he can do the job that he's been employed for, which I see as bringing extra experience and expertise to the squad which will be useful even if his game time is limited. NP knows what he can bring, and that isn't just goals. This also gives NP the option of offloading another striker if the right offer comes in. I'm looking forward to the rest of the season even more now.
