Iwan is a Welshman Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Nothing can stop us now! Seriously, anyone criticising needs to have a look at what he gave Palace at the end of last season. They wouldn't be where they are now without him. And Sir Lez Franz Carr, Mark Draper
Fox42 Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Who's the oldest player to score in this division ever?
Kitchandro Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 He's as old, he's as old, He's as old as time itself. He's as old as time itself.
Guest shearfox Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Start h for 60 mins, do the damage take him off, we have more than enough shots at goal at time's, 20 plus per game, time for more goals. He will not start, be much more effective off the bench at the latter end of matches...
ashfosse Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 good signing. on a free, wont be on big wages and knows what it takes to get promoted. a very good head to have on the training ground and dressing room. welcome kev
HesNotGudjonsonn2 Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 When we played Palace last year and they made a late substitution and the name Kevin Phillips was announced, I worried. That is the affect that Kevin Phillips has on everyone who has any knowledge of the guy. He can poach a goal like no one else in that division and even at the age he is. For the amount of chances that we miss at the moment, Phillips would and will put them away.
Kitchandro Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Super Kev, he's old as fvck We're Leicester boys And we're goin up Super Kev, He's now a blue Scoring goals, At the age of 92. Grandad, Grandad, Grandad.....

leeleic Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Excellent acquisition. He will 100% make an impact both on and off the field. I've been a fan of KP's for a long time. His attitude, professionalism and of course career stats speak volumes.
howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 If he scores 6 last ten minute goals between now and the end of the season we will be as good as promoted!!
Vlad the Fox Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 'Flash in the pan' is how I vividly remembering describing Phillips first season with Sunderland back in 98.
Loz Dyer Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Excellent acquisition. He will 100% make an impact both on and off the field. I've been a fan of KP's for a long time. His attitude, professionalism and of course career stats speak volumes. Why we discussing Kevin Peterson
Matt Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Happy with this, very happy not only for what he can potentially offer us on the pitch but what he can also offer us off the pitch in terms of helping others players on the training ground, wouldn't be surprised if Nige tries to get him as a coach or player/coach depending on where we find ourselves at the end of this season. Can't see him starting many games, if any, but we not have 2 options off the bench, Phillips when we are looking for a goal - A position we've not found ourselves in many times this season or Taylor-Fletcher when we are trying to see a game out. Hope he comes on on Saturday and gets a goal! (Despite me saying we can use Phillips when we are looking for a goal, I hope that is not the case on Saturday, I just hope we're 10-0 up and decide to bring him on and get a goal ) I've been wanting us to sign Phillips for years, especially in his prime, I feel we've been screaming out for someone like him in past years, so this is abit late but regardless i'm happy that we have been able to sign him.
Monk Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 He is basically a slightly more attractive version of Tony Cottee.
MGLCFC Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 He is basically a slightly more attractive version of Tony Cottee. Hope so - Cottee was amazing when he played for us in the Prem
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Very shrewd signing, personally delighted with this! Agreed nowt to lose on a short term contract
The Horse's Mouth Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Hope so - Cottee was amazing when he played for us in the Prem Keep dreaming.
Guest shearfox Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Good player to have when you need a goal, I would much rather bring Phillips on than Waghorn.
Jace Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Always looks strange when someone over 40 wears a football shirt
Guest Bilo Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Leicester City 1 Doncaster Rovers 1, City need a win to go up to the Premier League. It's the 93rd minute, Alan. Nugent comes off for Kevin Phillips, right decision Alan? No. I think we can safely say it's the play-offs, Ian. If only Danny Moore had converted that header. Dyer wins a corner. Ker-Nockaert is heading to the corner flag, Kasper's heading up. Ker-Nockaert takes the corner, whips it into the middles of the box to Phillips. Right footed, IT'S THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEE
MGLCFC Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 I'd much rather bring Wasyl on than Waghorn, if we need a goal, at least he's get stuck in. Waghorn has had his chance - I like the lad and he's a trier, but if you look how Vardy has developed in a year, after being not much more than a headless chicken last year, you've got to ask why Waghorn has receded. Phillips will score important goals, he may only play a bit part role, but I do feel confident that should we need a goal, he can change a game with one piece of clinical finishing.
leeleic Posted 15 January 2014 Posted 15 January 2014 Why we discussing Kevin Peterson I have no idea who Kevin PETERSON is.... Pieterson on the other hand.... :-)
