Kevin Phillips Signs.

Gonna take a lot to convince me he can offer anything. Yes he has been an excellent player in the past with a lot of goals to his name, but he is 40 now. Cant deny he reached his prime a long time ago. Will be interesting to see how he is used in the squad. Surely only room for one out of GTF and Phillips?

One for the academy?

Definitely would be a great addition to the coaching staff and the youngsters if he wants to carry-on in football and take his badges, Ultimate Professional.

GTF and Phillips are two different players. GTF is good technically holding it up and setting up goals whilst KP is more of a poacher. They might offer him a coaching role afterwards as well.

Scored six in 14 league games for Palace last season, plus a play-off final goal.

Penalties don't count!

Don't get me wrong, Im not against him signing. I just wonder whether he can keep up with the pace of our game. GTF struggles and hes younger. Like I said will be interested to see how he is used. Good luck to him.

Interesting to see who takes penalties if both him and Nuge are on the pitch when we get one

Doubt that will ever be the case (I imagine it'll normally be Nuge subbed for KP), but if so I reckon it'll still be Nugent. He's been our dedicated penalty-taker so far this term, and can't see that being changed halfway through.

Would be more than happy for either to take it though. Think Wood could do a decent job as well if he's on the pitch.

Good signing for Nige, i think Nigel is making sure we've got a striker that can actually put it in the back of the net, we've got Taylor-Fletcher but he's more of a creator. Kev will be an excellent teacher for both Vardy, Hopper and Schlupp. I don't think though we'll be able to get 90 minutes out of Kev now though.

I tell you what though, now we've certainly got a few options on the bench for strikers, though it's of course likely Waghorn and Schlupp will be leaving us shortly.

Brilliant signing for us in my opinion. If we are struggling in a game who else better to bring on? Especially with the chances we create we would only need one chance to fall to him plus he will be a brilliant mentor for Vardy, Schlupp and the other young lads! WIN WIN situation!

As long as he is in the box that is all that matter he is a poacher!

GTF  KP are different players for different situations - I can see both being on the bench, along with Wood if he's ever fit

We've got one hell of a side for attacking games, looking at that.

If we play the same 442 starting line-up as before, we would be choosing our bench out of

Logan, Wasyl, Miquel, Hammond, Schlupp, King, Mahrez, GTF, KP, Wood, Waghorn.

We've got 7/10 outfield players who you could consider 'attacking' players, on top of the starting line-up which as we already know is set up to attack.

Going to be some selection headaches for the management, that's for sure...
