Isle of Wight Fox 86 Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Just wondered if we do get promoted in May where we would need to add that bit more quality? And who realistically do we think we could sign? Of course depending on who gets relegated we could try and get some players from their to stay up
Leicesterpool Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Probably centre midfield i think we maybe needing some experience in there, we've got Hammond yeah but I have to admit I'm not convinced by him. I think we'd be need a Kevin Nolan/Scott Parker type player.
LCFCCKEANO Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Left Back- Fabio Centre back- Someone like hangeland Centre mid- Livermore or Barry Striker- Jones or a proven prem scorer.
Danno Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Centre back, left back, centre midfield, right wing, striker.
Guesty Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Think we'd need a left winger as well. Dyer is very one-dimensional. His speed lets him get away with it in the championship, but I think in the Prem the defenders would neutralise him. Everyone knows he's always going to kick it with his left foot.
Stadt Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 2 strikers, a winger, a left back and a real quality Centre mid.
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 It's a pretty accepted and proven opinion that if you want to stay up you need to strengthen in every position.
Vardinhio Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 We need to improve the squad in nearly every area. We will certainly need a proven striker at prem level.
Stadt Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 What sort of money do we reckon Nigey will be given to spend if we do go up? 20 million?
Happy Fox Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 What sort of money do we reckon Nigey will be given to spend if we do go up? 20 million? 30-40 million.
Stadt Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 30-40 million.Hopefully, I bet Steve Walsh is licking his lips.
Xen Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 LB, LW, RB, CM, ST. One quality player in each of those positions and we'd do alright. LB - Konchesky needs replacing. He's good enough for now, but not in the prem. LW - Dyer is doing fantastically, but I he's not clinical enough, and his pace won't be enough if we go up. RB - At the minute we have De Laet and no-one else, really. Wasyl isn't any good at RB and Moore is better at CB, in my opinion. CM - Needs a bit more steel in the middle alongside James/DD/King, else we'd just get outplayed by most teams. They're good, but we'd need something more ST - Pretty obvious we'd need someone else, really. Nugent/Vardy/Wood is a good trio to have, but a proven prem striker would be nice. If we can keep Philips in a coaching role I think those 3 are good enough to stay, so only 1 more top-quality striker would be required. We'd also need a back-up LB and CB, as well as another keeper. Schmeichel might stay, but we'd need a better back-up option than Logan, that's for sure. Of course we *could* strengthen everywhere on the pitch, but this is what I think we'd need to stay up and finish about 14th-ish.

Obviously we'll sign players that we can afford, who are available and who want to come here. None of which we know at this point.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 It's too damned early for a post like this. Another "kiss of death".
GingerrrFox Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 LB - Ryan Bertrand (loan) Winger - Luciano Narsingh Defensive midfielder - Etienne Capoue Striker - Stefano Okaka-Chucka Centre back - Steven Caulker (after Cardiff get relegated)
Yuki! Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Yanick Bolasie from palace, especially if they go down
Foxy harry Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 30-40 million. i think the owners are saving the money for if/when we go up
AKCJ Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Aaron Cresswell, Scott Parker, Steven N'Zonzi, Filip Djordjevic, Scott Sinclair.
katieakita Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 Sure the owners will give Nigel plenty will be interesting to see who he wil have his sights on. No doubt bring in a much better class of player we have never heard of. Not just the fees but also the wages they demand, also always have a problem when you sign players who demand release clauses if you get relegated, for me would tell them perform and you do not go down.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 i think the owners are saving the money for if/when we go up What do you mean "saving" they just spent 100mill clearing our debt.
dmayne7 Posted 19 January 2014 Posted 19 January 2014 I'm sure people will laugh at this but I'd love to see us sign Bendtner up top.
