Guest Bilo Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 I bet you won't even get good odds on a 10-0 win for Germany. Oh dear. That's a bit harsh, Scotland have improved a little.
purpleronnie Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 That's a bit harsh, Scotland have improved a little. OK 9-0.
BlueSi13 Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 How many home nations? Can't see the Scots overcoming Germany, Poland and Ireland, tbh. To be fair, the way the media act, you'd think that nobody told them that the Republic of Ireland is not actually part of the UK anymore.
Guest Bilo Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 I can see there being one or two double figures scores from these groups. Germany v Gibraltar, Spain v Luxembourg and England v San Marino could all be utter carnage.
Nalis Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Outside chance of us (Norn Iron) qualifying from what is a piss poor group. But we'll prob still finish 4th/5th
shen Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Not fecking Portugal again!! Easily the toughest group too if you ask me... What should have been an easy route to Euro 2016, is now a quite tricky one.
kingfox Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 From the majority of groups, there's about 3-4 teams capable of going through. From England's group you look at it, and England and Switzerland will probably walk it.
Vacamion Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 To be fair, the way the media act, you'd think that nobody told them that the Republic of Ireland is not actually part of the UK anymore. For me, Southern Ireland are as much foreigners as Denmark or Belgium. Our media should treat them as such.
RowlattsFox Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Decent chance for Northern Ireland, Scotland and Rep will be battling Poland, same for wales. Do Greece ever get anyone difficult? With the amount of teams qualifying though, it makes a mockery of qualification campaign.
Finnegan Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 SACK CHRIS COLEMAN NOW! NO MESSING! WE CAN ACTUALLY DO THIS! Come ooooon! You know this'll all end in tears, we'll lose to Cyprus in the first game and I'll be on here ranting about how nobody ever turns up and sulking. But get in! Bale, Ramsey, Allen, wrap yourself in cotton wool! Forget the champions league, get on this!!
Webbo Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Chris Coleman shaking his head and looking dead eyed whilst saying "Positive...Good Group" If they can't get at least second out of that group they want shooting.
Finnegan Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 I can see there being one or two double figures scores from these groups. Germany v Gibraltar, Spain v Luxembourg and England v San Marino could all be utter carnage. You'll edge it in a dull 2 - 0. Everyone will want <manager> sacked, be convinced you'll never qualify and make a huge deal out of remaining "tough" ties against "hugely underestimated" Estonia and Slovenia. Then you'll top the group and go through anyway. If they can't get at least second out of that group they want shooting. Without wanting to start making excuses already, Belgium are a very good side and if Bale and Ramsey and co' don't actually turn up (I mean, physically, literally) then we're no better than Bosnia.
sphericalfox Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 For me, Southern Ireland are as much foreigners as Denmark or Belgium. Our media should treat them as such. Sky have a sizeable television market in Ireland, so it makes sense for them to have something about Ireland, especially as they broadcast most Irish games, it would be folly for them not to. You could argue that the BBC shouldn't give any or much notice to ROI, but again the BBC is available in Ireland, and MOTD is fairly popular, so why leave out an audience.
bluesbrothers Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Wales have got a great draw and do play some decent football. If they can find anything approaching a decent run of form, which has eluded them since the untimely passing of Gary Speed, you'd be a fool to bet against them. Apart from maybe Belgium, there are no teams there that they won't be capable of beating if they play to their full potential.Poor Gordy's Paisley Bunch are as good as fooked, on the other hand, and even Roy and Martin will have an uphill struggle. Can't wait to see Gibraltar amongst the big boys! Can't make a judgement on Northern Ireland, because they have been woeful against some dreadful opposition in the recent past, but do have a squad of players who should really be challenging for the top 2 of that group. I'll see how their first couple of games go before I make any predictions for them.
Stadt Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Bosnia are a decent side, I'd expect them to get 2nd in that group.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Sky have a sizeable television market in Ireland, so it makes sense for them to have something about Ireland, especially as they broadcast most Irish games, it would be folly for them not to. I'm guessing it's also because there's a large Irish population in the UK, you can't get RTÉ on Sky without having an Irish poscode.
The Doctor Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 How does qualification work for this? Is it top 2 to go through and then 1 team from each group in the play-offs? In which case there's a genuine prospect of all 5 home nations qualifying. Aye - all the top 2 and the best 3rd place go through, other 3rd placers into the play-offs. Group F is abysmal - 2 of Greece, Hungary, Romania, Finland, NI & Faroe Islands definitely qualifying and one into the play-offs? They're in the main also-rans or whipping boys in any other group.
Webbo Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 The good thing about having such weak groups is the chance to give some experience to young players.
Dan Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Very dull group. We'll get through that with ease. I'm still not a fan of seeding. is it me or do we always get drawn with these same teams Nah, very similar ones - a lot of average Eastern European sides. It's very much like a Spurs European campaign actually.
Dan Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 I can see there being one or two double figures scores from these groups. Germany v Gibraltar, Spain v Luxembourg and England v San Marino could all be utter carnage. Germany will stick about 15 past Gibraltar and that's without having a top forward.

That Greek group is abysmal. Again!
Charnwood Norris Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 B: Bosnia-Herzegovina, Andorra, Cyprus, Wales, Israel, Belgium --- Good chance for Wales to get 3rd in that group.

sambucapleasechief Posted 23 February 2014 Posted 23 February 2014 Great draw this is for the lads who follow england away. Add in Rimini for San Marino and there's 5 good piss ups for everyone to look forward to over the next couple of years.
