Bert Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Kasper 7 - Calm and composed in difficult conditions for a keeper. RDL 7 - Was skinned a few times but still did ok and scored with a bullet header. Konch 6 - A few dodgy passes but otherwise he was fine. Morgan 9 - Class performance. Wasilewski 7 - Solid as ever. Knocky 6 - Drifted around nicely and caused them problems without really doing much. Dyer 6 - Weather stopped his game today, got better in the second half. James 8 - Class. Created so much space for himself and the team. Deceptively quick. Drinkwater 6 - Not as good as he has been today but still tried to keep us ticking over. Nuge 7 - Bar the missed penalty he had a god game. Great work for Vardy's goal and general link up play was good. Vardy 8 - Didn't get much change first half but a goal, winning the free kick for being a pest which lead to the second as well as never ever giving anything up. Class. Phillips 6 - Didn't do an awful lot. Mahrez 6 - Looks exciting.
Stuliasz Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Kasper 7 De Laet 8 Morgan 9 Was 7 Konchesky 5 Knockaert 7 Dyer 5 James 8 Drinkwater 6 Nugent 7 Vardy 8
Dickov22 Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Kasper 7 Kicking good in tough conditions. Didn't really have a lot to do De Laet 7.5 Couple of dodgy moments but took his goal excellently. Never ever gets outpaced Morgan 9 Immense. Just a brick wall Wasileski 7.5 Really hard game to come into so early on in the conditions. Did well. Konchesky 5.5 Not as poor as last week but not great. So poor in possession Knockaert 8.5 One of his best games for us. Always wanted the ball, ran his socks off. So improved defensively and some sublime passes. Was the best player in the first half which says something about his character in those conditions James 8 Lost the ball a few times first half but second half excellent Drinkwater 7 Quiet game for him but kept going Dyer 6.5 Not the conditions for his game but did his job Nugent 7.5 Linked up with Vardy really well. Much improved last few weeks. I'd like someone else to have a go with the penalties. He just doesn't look confident Vardy 9.5 MOTM. Incredible display again. Gave their defenders a torrid time, works so hard, took his goal well. Played a huge part in De Laet's goal. How many penalties has he won?sensational Phillips 5 Barely touched the ball Mahrez 7.5 Looks a talent. Very skinny though, maybe needs to bulk up a bit
Unabomber Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Kasper 6 - He didn't have a lot to do, but his distribution seemed good and he did his job well. RDL 6 - Was pretty poor tbh and it was one of the worst performances I have seen from him, then he score and boosted his rating from me so well done.Konch 5 - Very poor passing but he didn't do anything too disastrous. Morgan 9 - MOTM. He was absolutely superb, his first half performance in that ****ing monsoon was colossal and he carried on doing a job in the second half.Wasilewski 7 - He ****ed up when he first came on but then grew into the game and was sold.Knocky 8 - Probably the hardest I have seen him work, he was excellent defensively and also made some great passes notably the one to Mahrez.Dyer 6 - He was very quiet compared to how he has been doing at home this season, but he made no clear errors.James 8 - He had a great game, didn't give the ball away and pretty much ran things.Drinkwater 7 - Not as good as James but still put in a decent shit and didn't mess anything up.Nuge 6 - Not great, his penalty was an insult to the work that Vardy put in.Vardy 8 - Didn't see much of the ball in the first half, but in the second he was excellent and he got a much deserved goal. He also won the pen and the freekick which we got the crucial second form.Phillips 5 - Didn't notice himMahrez 10 - Simply out of this world.
kingfox Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Schmeichel 6 - Needed to save a couple De Laet 8 - Been excellent in recent weeks for me, brilliant second half Wasilewski 7 - Did his job, and looked comfortable Morgan 8 - Like last week, he looked unbeatable Konchesky 6 - Poor game, passing first half especially was awful Knockaert 7 - When on the ball, he looked decent Drinkwater 7 - Shocking first half, much better second James 8 - So good on the ball today, quality footballer Dyer 6 - Couldn't get in the game, and run at players Nugent 6 - Missed penalty, and overall mediocre game Vardy 8 - Ran his socks off, another goal, all good
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Kasper 7 De Laet 8 Morgan 8 Was 7 Konchesky 6 Knockaert 7 Dyer 6 James 8 Drinkwater 7 Nugent 7 Vardy 8
TJB-fox Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Could somebody explain why mahrez looked so exciting? Tricks, pace, first touch etc?
MGLCFC Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Thought Konchesky did ok, Mahrez is no way a 10. Only on 15 minutes against a beaten team. Kasper 7 did what he had to De Laet 7 got better as the game progressed Morgan 9 commanding Wasilewski 7 Strong, after a shaky start Konchesky 6.5 steady Knockaert 7 much better defensively of late Drinkwater 7 works effectively with James James 8.5 covers so much ground Dyer 6.5 conditions meant he was going to struggle Nugent 7.5 Vardy 9 - most improved player at the club Phillips 6 did a job Mahrez 7 showed glimpses of brilliance
lgfualol Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Could somebody explain why mahrez looked so exciting? Tricks, pace, first touch etc? Just another Knocky type player, fast, young, got some skills. Most people are exaggerating though because it annoys Kingfox.
Alf Bentley Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Schmeichel 7 Good distribution, little else to do De Laet 7 Good going forward Morgan 7 Inattentive start, became very solid Wasyl 7 Slow, dodgy start, became very solid Konch 6 Sound enough Knocky 8 Excellent possession/passing/ball retention, maturing very nicely Drinky 7 Quietish by his standards James 8 Controlled the midfield - excellent form Dyer 6.5 Decent possession, but quietish Nuge 7 Hard-working, effective team play Vardy 8.5 MoM Scorching pace, fierce work ethic, team focus Moore N/A Not on long enough Phillips N/A Didn't get into game - late long-ball stuff didn't suit Mahrez 7 Ball retention + technique + ability to beat a man = promising cameo
The Blur Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Schmeichel 7.5- Did everything he is supposed to do very well. Coped well with the conditions as well. De Laet 7 Steady Eddie-nothing special apart from his goal. Morgan 7.5 Led by an example- some good defending Wasyl 8 Actually played better than Morgan- I can't remember him getting beaten. Will be an excellent replacement for Moore. Konch 7- Terrible first half- Much improved in second-his use of the ball was very excellent in second. He was one of our best players in second half. Knocky 8 Mr or Monsieur Leicester- Gave his 100% and started to get in the game in second half. Great pass for Mahez(?) chance at the end of the game. Drinky 7 Kept things going. Some stray passes though. Punched a corner flag out of frustration once. Think he knows he is not at his best today. James 8 Top midfielder performer in centre of the park for both sides. Dyer 6.5 Quiet but managed to trouble them at times. Passed more than running at opponents though. Nuge 7.5 Great closing down and assist for Vardy's goal. That made up for his pen miss. Came in his own later when we dominated around 70 minutes mark. Vardy 8.5 MoM Unplayable at times. His dribbling for the pen was amazing. Worked his butt off. Thought he could shoot rather than crossing to Dyer though on one occasion. Moore N/A Phillips N/A Mahrez 7 Good start- not afraid to dribble at players.

Fox92 Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Kasper 7 De Laet 8 Morgan 9 - Solid Was 7 Konchesky 6 Knockaert 7.5 James 7.5 Drinkwater 7 Dyer 5 Nugent 7.5 - Made some great runs and his part in the first goal was quality Vardy 9 - Brilliant today. Never gave up, great finish and just a general pest
Deucalion Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Phillips being on the pitch coincided with our best spell in the game. They hardly got out of their half. That's not to say Phillips was the only factor, but he certainly is a psychological knock to opposition fans and probably teams when he comes on. Also, what about the fantastic and quick interplay between Mahrez and Phillips which led put Nugent through? Apart from the goals, definitely moment of the match.
The Man In Black Posted 25 January 2014 Posted 25 January 2014 Kasper 7 - Dealt with the conditions well.RDL 7 - Defended well on the whole, not the brightest bulb in the hallway but added another goal which sealed the game.Konch 6 - Kicks the ball out of play without pressure every week, very strange. Played well in the second half.Morgan 9 - MOTM. I have confidence that he'll deal with any situation.Wasilewski 6 - Poor first half, chanced too many balls, second half didn't have a great deal to do.Knockeart 7 - Always looking for that one touch pass which speeds the attack up, highly intelligent footballer, didn't have masses to do but did it well.Dyer 6 - Not as bad as some have made out.James 8 - Outplayed Drinkwater today. Very assured on the ball. Some decent tackles.Drinkwater 6 - The boggy conditions didn't suit his game entirely, was better when the pitch dried out a bit.Nugent 6 - Should be taken off penalties now, not a guaranteed scorer, he's bagan to score from open play but his all round play is still hindering us.Vardy 8 - Did we sign him this summer? I don't remember him from last year... -------Phillips 4 - Had nothing to do, no influence and wasn't needed.Mahrez 6 - Displayed some fine touches and guile.

Nugent has 17 goals, the most assists in the team and 3rd most in the entire league. I don't think his all round play is hindering us at all. And what so he's missed 3 out of about 10-12 pens. You can't score them all!

The Doctor Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 He doesn't look confident taking them. Tosh and piffle. Besides, he scores them, so what's the problem?
Trumpet Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 How did Nugent hinder our play yesterday? He created the first goal that got us on our way.
lcfc81 Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Nugent has 17 goals, the most assists in the team and 3rd most in the entire league. I don't think his all round play is hindering us at all. And what so he's missed 3 out of about 10-12 pens. You can't score them all! I 100% agree. I feel nugents movement and link up play is fantastic. As for his penalties, he always very deliberately puts them in different places and (all apart for one that hit the bar) gets them on target. Nugent is a fantastic player imo.
lcfc81 Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 He doesn't look confident taking them. I disagree, the wigan penalty, when Carson tried the mind games put me at ease of that.
Dickov22 Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Tosh and piffle. Besides, he scores them, so what's the problem? I was merely saying that prior to taking it, and his short run up showed me (in my opinion) he wasn't confident he'd score. I wasn't either
The Man In Black Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 How did Nugent hinder our play yesterday? He created the first goal that got us on our way. His build up play is too slow. He delays the linking pass for too long, erasing any opportunity we may have. He had one of his better games of the season yesterday, granted, but I haven't and won't be blinded by some fan's rose tinted views of our 'star' striker.
Corky Posted 26 January 2014 Posted 26 January 2014 Schmeichel - 7 (No real saves to make, but kicked quite well in difficult conditions) De Laet- 7 (Lovely header and got forward well in the second half, struggled first) Moore- N/A Morgan- 8 (Another dominant display from the skipper) Konchesky- 6 (Tough game) Knockaert- 7 (Enjoyed himself in the second half) Drinkwater- 7 (Difficult first half with the pitch but second he helped us to dominate) James- 8 (Deceptively quick and really imposes himself in the midfield area) Dyer- 6 (Very difficult to build speed on a pitch with standing water, so no real impact) Nugent- 7 (Penalty missed but crucial play in the first goal) Vardy- 9 (Scored, won a penalty and attitude won free-kick for the second. Nightmare for defenders currently)
