Itsthejoeker Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 It's M. C. Tuff actually he's my uncle I would have he was the best butcher until he retired a couple of years ago now I'd say Gamble and Hollis in Syston, their Gloucester sausages are the best I've ever had. Sorry! We've always called him that! Loved that butchers back in the day!
Raj Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 The one Lionel Richies just opened... Halal, Is it meat your looking for.
Dr The Singh Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 is that the one that used to be a news agents too? Yep!!!
Vlad the Fox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 There are a lot of good butchers around and it's good to see, while other businesses have struggled such as the greengrocer, the butcher has held off the march of the supermarket and offers better quality produce at similar, if not better, prices. I tend to use Mr. D's at East Goscote or Gamble and Hollis in syston who's sausages are probably the best I've had.
sphericalfox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 It's not Leicester or Leicestershire, but the fella in Swad market used to do some great deals and his thick bacon was the schnizzle. Not sure if he's still about or if the quality is still up to scratch.

All we need for greengrocers is to find that veggieburgers are actually cardboard... which I've always suspected anyway.
lavrentis Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Forgotten what it's called but its got a Green shopfront iirc and it's close to the market. Got some nice meat there

hairy Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Morris of Wigston or Wraggs of Oadby. Both very good but we have found Morris to be cheaper in recent years
MrsJohnMurphy Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Joseph Morris' South Kilworth shop is attached to their abattior so you'll know its fresh.
Vlad the Fox Posted 29 January 2014 Posted 29 January 2014 Joseph Morris' South Kilworth shop is attached to their abattior so you'll know its fresh. Can you go out back and choose your cow?
SystonFox Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Clark's of Queniborough. Award winning. Rob Kelly used to go in, Austin Healy and Pearson still do. Rumoured that Sven sent in one of his mistresses to get him a steak on March 14th
mhs123 Posted 31 January 2014 Posted 31 January 2014 I used to manage the walkers butchers shop in Oadby and it was a bloody good little earner, best butcher still around for me is Hambletons in Oakham.

BlondHayley - Active posts:2 Page views:52 Hayley hasn't helped herself with her name selection, tbh. Did you see the thread from a girl who was looking for a lift to the Southampton game? Bless her... I don't think she was native, or really in tune with the knockabout nature of FT, it was awful and funny at the same time!
Durnerz Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 W.M Archers is class and available to pre-order stuff via Twitter. Clay's is decent in the market too.
