Tielemans63 Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 ...according to Eurosport. Bit of a joke really. Felix Magath knows his stuff though.
Webbo Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 If it's true it's just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Fulham are as near to a dead cert for relegation you could find,
Fox92 Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 It's going to take a miracle the size of Birmingham, headed by such a genius that Fulham would have to go headhunting at Cape Canaveral to prevent their almost certain relegation.
Super_horns Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 Well he is actually a manager which they should have got in the first place rather than a load of coaches (and Curbishley) Players won't know where to look next
Poznan34 Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 So they let Rene Meulensteen spend £11m on a signing and he doesn't get a chance to play him? Ridiculous.
StanSP Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 I don't understand. Why? What chance did Meulensteen have? Has there been a falling out behind the scenes?
Leicesterpool Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 This sounds confusing, third manager in a season =relegation. This is all sounds fishy to me, wonder how the fulham fans are reacting to all this?

Leicesterpool Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 ...and they didn't even have the decency to give you enough notice to make a poll LP! That's true Quite a few Fulham fans are a bit disappointed to see him go, to be honest the last two games they've played pretty well and maybe even signs they could survive. There's also some talk that Curbishley's gone aswell!
MC Prussian Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 Fulham FC - club most likely to go down. Not just because they're last in the table. The turmoil behind the scenes in recent weeks and months have done their part, now they're hiring a manager who has no experience in the British top flight and whose nickname is "Saddam". Clearly in dire need of discipline, this Fulham lot. How long until they find their way back into the second or even third tier?
Corky Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 Fulham have been a disaster this season. Started with Jol, brought in Meulensteen to "support" him, then Jol limps on and Meulensteen replaces him. After that Curbishley is brought to the club, then Wilkins, allow Meulensteen to overhaul the squad before sacking him and introducing Magath with no transfer window and seemingly the hastily acquired coaching staff. They are gone now surely.
separator Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 "Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live, Meulensteen said: "I knew the owners were freaking out a little bit that there was the possibility of the club going down. "The way forward that we have discussed with the club was about longevity and in this case it is clearly an act of fear. "I have not had a lot of time and people who came to the Manchester United and Liverpool games could see what I was trying to put in place. "I couldn't care less what they put in the statement, to be honest." " http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26200035

I think the biggest mistake was getting rid of Jol in mid season, i think under him Fulham would never have gone down but they would always remain just above the relegation zone. The change should have been made in the summer. The new gaffer now as got to settle very quickly, at the moment looking at Fulham i can't see it being possible to keep Fulham up.
FoxLAD Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 To be honest I'm not surprised.. Just the pure fact a few bad results and your gone. Shame is happens so often now, who would really want to be a manager these days?
Stadt Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 I'd get the sacking if it happened after some of the bad defeats but the last two games have shown encouragement against one tough side in Liverpool and a tricky game away at Old Trafford. Baffling decision.
sdb Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 He was taking them down. Harsh, but right call. Although timing (especially regarding transfer window) is silly.
Donut Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 Theyre down. It would take a comeback of Lazarus proportions to stay up, the quality isnt there, and they have problems at both ends of the pitch.
Kitchandro Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 Fulham being relegated was just the natural order of things. It's just been about 10 years later than expected.
The Doctor Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 Magath is a very good choice as manager, but too late to save them.
Fox92 Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 Fulham being relegated was just the natural order of things. It's just been about 10 years later than expected.I read this and think some people are really harsh on other football teams. What do you expect? Fulham to challenge for the title? They are "just another" PL team but they had a very good run in Europe the other year. I saw someone comment "Fulham are just another team that makes up the numbers", and of course because the PL is dominated by money it is now sadly true, but I'm sorry to say that if get promoted we will just be a team "that makes up the numbers". Teams like Fulham have fans, just like us, and I think some of these people deserve a bit more respect a times.
westernpark Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 If we have a 10 year stay in the premier league(hopefully starting next season),and a few trips into europe including a Final, like them. Then I'd be very happy. Also any chance of us nicking either Parker or Sidwell for next season? Their experience would be vital.
One Legged Beaver Posted 14 February 2014 Posted 14 February 2014 Hmmmm I wonder what the odds on Magath to get sacked before the end of the season are?
