Kitchandro Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 I wouldn't swap anyone for Vardy. Agreed. McCormack may well be the best striker in the division, but Vardy may also be the most important player for the best side in the division. So it's a no brainer. It's a team game. Reminds me of when everyone was bumming the Yak even though he was detrimental to the team half the time (though I'm not suggesting McCormack is).

I don't think anybody could look at the two players dispassionately and think that Vardy is a better player, but he is absolutely integral to the way the best side in the division plays.

Yeah this is what I think. If we didn't have Vardy we wouldn't be where we are.
Raj Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 Swap him for vardy ?..no swap him for Nugent ..i ll drive him to Leeds myself!!!!
foxfanazer Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 Disgusting the way some of you talk about Nugent. Embarrassing!
Guest Col city fan Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 I wouldn't swap Vardy for ANY other Championship striker. Its not only about goals scored. The goals he's made for us by winning fouls and closing down have been just as important. We were discussing this yesterday. The little scamp has been worth his weight in gold this season.

promised land Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 I wouldn't swap anyone for Vardy. This.
ARTY_FOX Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 No i wouldn't swap vardy no. I wouldnt swap nugent either 15 goals and more assists than any other striker in the league obviously brings more than people give him credit for. (9 i think next is mccormack on 5 funnily enough)and thats 2 behind reid who is a creative genius according to alot of people on here.
Tringfox Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 McCormack is a big fatty built like Andy Reid, doesn't have the scope of Vardy, definitely wouldn't swap him!!
deanolegend1989 Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 Vardy is better all round than McCormack. For me its just 1 good season, a bit like Jamie Cureton for Colchester, 1 season top championship scorer means nothing really. People who say cliches and things like top scorer means he must be good dont actually really know much about football. Papa Cisse, Roque Santa Cruz, Benjani amongst alot more players...consitency shows more than 1 good season..who'd of thought Cisse would look so awful after that half a season where he was smashing in everything..
Bluetintedspecs Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 Am I the only one laughing at the irony of this thread?
Benji Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 I wouldn't even get involved - McCormack is the only thing they have at the minute to be remotely excited about. I live in Leeds and there's nothing sweeter than sitting content at the league table. The clubs are incomparable at the minute.
Devonfox1884 Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 I'd swap him for wood, schlupp and conrad...
Charl91 Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 No i wouldn't swap vardy no. mmfoxuk Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 No, but i'd swap Nugent for McCormack. I'm not sure whether I would. i'd swap there goal scoring records but as players go nugent brings a lot to the side also. His assist record is brilliant and he is far from lazy.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 Vardy is my favourite player so nay chance lass
Lionheart Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 No, but i'd swap Nugent for McCormack. Oh yes.
Mark_w Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 Ross McCormack's overall career goalscoring record is hardly earth shattering. Last season he scored 5. All season. We wouldnt be having this conversation back then. *Looks at how many goals Jamie Vardy scored last year.*
Father Ted Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 I wouldn't swap Vardy for any other striker in this league. Nugent however...
ARTY_FOX Posted 16 February 2014 Posted 16 February 2014 Yeah, McCormack could never have scored all those penalties. In modern football there is no guarentee. It's easy to sus out a players favorite side by watching a clip or 2 from youtube....
