Chazwaz Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Not sure why we would even appeal it, A shite tackle and he deserved to get sent off and 3 match ban that will inevitably follow... Been consistent but very prone to making the stupid decisions. 3x things you get from konchesky Most seasons - Either a ban from multiple cards, or a straight red. - A 30 yard screamer - Consistency I honestly don't think he has been that consistent within the last 10 games though
Bert Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 I honestly don't think he has been that consistent within the last 10 games thoughEven though he's been involved in every one and he's played his part in winning 8 of them.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 The problem is that he is going to get a ban, for what appears to be a reckless tackle. As far as I am concerned he has let his fellow team mates and manager down, at an important part of our season. There is no excuse for it. Another valid point DT, however, experienced professionals having a rush of blood in the heat of a local derby is not unheard of particularly with some of the afters that appeared to be going on! ealingfox Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Maybe the straight red will stand but the ban reduced? 3 games does seem excessive for that. Should we fail in our appeal, do people want to see Schlupp, Iggy or another member of the the cast of Fraggle Rock at LB?
Chazwaz Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Even though he's been involved in every one and he's played his part in winning 8 of them. He makes more mistakes than anyone else in the team, ie gifting a one on one in the Leeds game which should have been scored
Happy Fox Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Konchesky was sent off against Nottingham Forest this week By FA Staff 21 Feb 2013 Listen Following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing today, a claim of wrongful dismissal concerning Leicester City’s Paul Konchesky was rejected. Carl the Llama Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Not surprised, has nobody shown them the Reid footage though?
MGLCFC Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 On a positive note, two home games against Ipswich and Charlton and an away visit to Barnsley aren't the worst games to miss out on. Should be back fighting fit for the rest of March.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Shame we couldn't overturn the decision but I'm sure we will cope
Brainy Posted 21 February 2014 Posted 21 February 2014 Why do people still think what Reid did warrants a ban
Oxfordfox83 Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Ban his cake quota for a month!.. That's just selfish. Think of the egg producers and wheat farmers-they have kids to feed. Shame on you.
deep blue Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 I'm pleased at the timing of this enforced change. Think we need a little freshening up to get back to winning ways; we need to capitalise on the next few fixtures. I'd like to see schlupp in tandem with Lloyd to give us that spark. Hope I don't end up eating my words!
Foxhateram Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 I worry that dyer and schlupp together leaves us exposed due to their naturally attacking mindset. I would rather have a solid lb behind lloyd so he can concentrate on bombing on. I'd go for igi or Moore switching de leat and moore. We will miss konch and his no messing big challenges that wind up opposition wingers. Who would you rather run at?

The flip side is that teams are going to come to defend so we need as many attacking options as possible without unbalancing the team.
Mack Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 Why did we even appeal? It was late and reckless. My guess is that Nigel knows what we have behind Konch is little to nothing in the way of defensive quality in the position so it was more of a hopeful move than anything else. I hope we play Moore at left back today as Schlupp is a liability as a defender.
Munshi Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 270 minutes of him shagging Pearsons daughter then..
inckley fox Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 I was surprised by the appeal, but I'm still not convinced that both feet were off the ground at the point of contact, and I'm not sure studs were up. It didn't look like a tackle that was designed to injure, and I was shocked that the referee - who had played on - did not consult with his linesman after the flag. Those challenges can justify a red, but they normally earn no more than a booking. I suspect a lack of consistency in refereeing was the club's reasoning.
ScouseFox Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 We'll cope, i'd think. At least he's missing what should be easier games. We coped without him for half an hour against Forest with 10 men tbf.

fuchsntf Posted 22 February 2014 Posted 22 February 2014 That's what annoyed me the most. A red card offence and the play gets stopped straight away. Don't think I've ever seen a straight red after advantage was played. Sadly, the way the referees are in this day and age it seems they have free reign to do whatever they want. Why shouldnt a red be shown after advantage. Why should a game be pulled back and give advantage to the team who committed an astrocious foul.Konschesky commited a dangerous and uncontrolled tackle. Not one of you city supporters who have played or plays the game can support and condone the tackle. That was a possble career ending tackle any future stupid remark on this site saying, indicating it was only a forest player.Dont dare to whine if you are on the receiving side and forfeit your playing career and maybe any practising proffesion. Being a football supporter should hold sometype of credulence for the game as a whole. Well done ref. Plus personally I thought Wes Morgan was fouled, forest player came from blind side, and pushed Morgan to the floor then fell over Morgans leg. Ive only seen it twice, but that was my take. PS .Billy Davies shown with his comments, proved he has no class
