Jeff Schlupp at Left Back

I've never liked him playing there before but today he was assured and solid.

BUT Ipswich were utter shite and never really attacked with any real purpose, pace or movement. Let's see how he does in the next few games.

Looks very solid and poses a real attacking threat as well, if he keeps it up I wouldn't be surprised if he kept konch out the team

Would play him for the upcoming home games-Charlton, Blackpool, Yeovil etc purely because he offers something different going forward that Konch cant. However, id probably play Miquel at Barnsley because of their aerial power with Proschwitz and O'Grady. In fact id be tempted to do what we did at Millwall and play four centre backs at the back (Liam, Wes, Was, Ignasi) then bring Hammond, King and Taylor-Fletcher in. Worked wonders at Millwall so could be a possibility, what with Barnsleys long ball game

A full back is a key attacking player, even more so in the Prem where a good FB is basically a winger

If we go up, we're surely not going to be able to play 2 up top often, or even at all. This means we won't have 2 in the middle most likely over-ran so there's no place for 2 wingers & it's this that makes attacking, pacey fullbacks critical.

Keep playing Schlupp, keep him learning & then weigh up situation in summer

Can't believe people actually get nervous with him at left-back.

I admit I don't go to away games, but everytime he has played at home at left-back, he has always impressed me. He puts in very comfortable performances, and he is a great attacking threat purely because of his pace, something which Konchesky lacks.

He played Kasper into trouble a couple of times today, but apart from that he was decent again.

I've never questioned that he can be dangerous going forward, but he is usually also dodgy defensively. Today he was good, but as I said above Ipswich were dreadful so he wasn't really tested at all. Better teams will target him, especially in the air.

The management see him as a left back.

I honestly think if he accepts this fact and works hard, he will make the position his own.

Was great today

3-0 win today.

3-0 away at Watford

1-0 home to Watford (Play-Off)

Anyone think of anymore?

Both last year...

6-0 Ipswich.

2-0 Sheffield Wednesday (A).

Came on after 40 minutes in the 0-0 draw against Bolton last year as well.

I wouldn't hesitate in saying that he put in the best left-back performance of the season today. Very comfortable on the ball and always perfectly positioned when defending. I think he gave the ball away once in the whole game. Very pleased for him and if he has a good run while Konch is away then I can't see why Konch should get his place back automatically.

In a nutshell: MUCH BETTER THAN KONCHESKY

Konchesky's been one of our most dependable performers this season. I'd have him straight back in when he's back.

What hope has humanity got

He was close to motm for me today, excellent performance, just edged out by JV's outstanding performance! COYB

Never been a huge fan of Schlupp before today, but totally agree with the above.

If it wasn't for the heroics of Vardy, Schlupp would've been MoM.

I can't really recall a game when he played really well as a striker. But there has been quite a few a a left back. His best position in my opinion. Nige and Sven seem to think so too.
