I blame Wellens Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 Konch has done us proud. But this season was always one too many. Who else takes a pay cut unless they realise they are lucky to be in a job. The real test for jeff will be against the better teams but I hope he can do it. Top man today!
STUHILL Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 Konch has done us proud. But this season was always one too many. Who else takes a pay cut unless they realise they are lucky to be in a job. The real test for jeff will be against the better teams but I hope he can do it. Top man today! I disagree. I think he has had a very good season and played a big part in where we are, like the rest of the squad.
fleckneymike Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 113 touches, 65 passes, 3 interceptions, 14 clearances.
fuchsntf Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 calm down duck. I was merely saying he's had 2 decent games against poor opposition which have hardly threatened. Most of the time I've seen him against better teams I like some others have questioned his defensive side. It's people like you who overhype him like he's the next Ashley Cole. I dont pre judge and I dont over hype, I prefer to see how young talent develops. It was interesting to see bambi like performances suddenly develope, into strong surging powerful runs....G.Lineker. It was interesting to watch 2 talents make breaks beat 1 then 2 to 3 men then forget getting the ball between white posts was the point of the excersise, then when they suddenly found that end skill they moved clubs...Bright & Joachim. I seen 2 players berated because they hadnt yet found their feet and club rythm...Yardy & Drinkwater. The guy is not yet 22 plus NP knows that he may be gambling defensive weaknesses againt attacking nous, cos that what top teams do with managers...who dares.
AnotherShitSeason Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 Played well once more today. All be it against the Championship equivalent of Shepshed Dynamo.
TrentFox Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 It's almost like having him out 'on loan' to get some playing time - except he's doing it with us!! If these results keep aligning for us, stick with him to the end of the season. The experience he'll get will be superb ... and maybe, just maybe we might have a real idea about him ?
FoxInTheBox89 Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 I think Jeffrey had an outstanding game and did defensive work that required pace that Koncheskey simply can not do. Hes sound on the ball. Never out of position. Would you keep him in after Koch returns? I would
Dickov22 Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 I love Jeff. Left back is his position. So quick, dangerous offensively, good touch, very powerful in the air. Konch won't get back in
Bert Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 All be it against the Championship equivalent of Shepshed Dynamo. That's not his fault though is it?
Lookatthebluesky Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 Never been a huge fan of Schlupp in the past but my lad told me how well he had played against Ipswich and I must admit that today he looked like a player of some potential at left-back. Admittedly he was not put to the test, but for me he looks to have a bit more in his locker than Konch. He looks more comfortable on the ball, offers greater attacking potential with his extra pace and his general distribution is better - I've given up counting the times that Konch gives the ball away when in possession. Schlupp may well be the future as left-back (and Mahrez is considerably more talented as an all-round footballer than Dyer). The opposition were poor today but the quality of the inter-passing in the second half was great to watch.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 1 March 2014 Posted 1 March 2014 Hopefully he can start concentrating on making left back his position, he has all the attributes. He needs to realise that he is never going to get a chance up front for this club nowadays.
Danno Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 He was good again today but i'd still be worried against the top sides. I think it helps a lot with Wes' experience at left centre back too.
Corky Posted 2 March 2014 Posted 2 March 2014 Yep, can't fault the last week, looked very composed. Still think Konchesky is better for the truly big games, but Schlupp is a capable back up.
Green-Fox Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Anyone think Jeff Schlupp could receive a surprise call up for Ghana in the World Cup at left back?
Stadt Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Anyone think Jeff Schlupp could receive a surprise call up for Ghana in the World Cup at left back?Their wiki page says that only one LB was in the last squad so he has a chance.
fuchsntf Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Anyone think Jeff Schlupp could receive a surprise call up for Ghana in the World Cup at left back? Why not hes already played once in 2011..
Tuna Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 What the fook was he doing on trial at Man United? For crying out loud one of our brightest talents.
rico Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 Anyone think Jeff Schlupp could receive a surprise call up for Ghana in the World Cup at left back? They spoke about this on The Boot Room tonight, think hes got a good chance if he wants it as a right back is playing in that position at the minute
LCFC1996 Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 http://ghanasoccernet.com/jeffrey-schlupp-makes-bold-statement-potential-black-stars-call-ahead-world-cup/ this is just a few days old for what it's worth
ScouseFox Posted 10 April 2014 Posted 10 April 2014 fair fu cks to our jefferson he has got his head down and seemingly admitted to himself (or maybe it was decided for him) that he is a left back and since he's stepped in he's looked occasionally shaky defensively but impressed more often than not and going forward he runs all day. nobody is going to do him for pace and he's got a whole 4 months to further work on his positioning and he will obviously mature further and hopefully turn into a premier league left back, which is a massive turn around from how bad he was there at the back end of last season.
TJB-fox Posted 11 April 2014 Posted 11 April 2014 Saw Mahrez was getting watched by Algeria ahead of WC too. Great that they're getting noticed but wish they weren't African, we'll probably lose them both for the cup of nations soon enough won't we. would be great if we had Mahrez and Schlupp at the WC
surrifox Posted 11 April 2014 Posted 11 April 2014 http://ghanasoccernet.com/jeffrey-schlupp-makes-bold-statement-potential-black-stars-call-ahead-world-cup/ this is just a few days old for what it's worth ha ha - there are some intemperate contributors on Foxestalk but nothing to compare with the appropriately named Benny here - clearly needs to work through his anger management issues
