The Guvnor Posted 25 February 2014 Posted 25 February 2014 Two wins on the bounce and their confidence will be high, hopefully they won't park the bus as I am sure a more open game will suit us.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 25 February 2014 Posted 25 February 2014 Charlton may have their peckers up. But, over the course of the season, they have shown to be a poor side. We have shown to be a very good side. We are at home, have few injuries and I'm confident we will win this game. Don't worry. Ok Col, I won't now. ;-)
Guest Col city fan Posted 25 February 2014 Posted 25 February 2014 Ok Col, I won't now. ;-) ... We've put away many teams this season mate, who have been 'improving'. Derby being a great example. I see no reason why Charlton will be any different. Fingers crossed anyway..
MC Prussian Posted 25 February 2014 Posted 25 February 2014 We've not beaten Charlton at home since December 2000. Akinbiyi scored. Another negative record to be rectified. And hopefully, we'll give Chris Powell the welcome he deserves. One of the best role models we've had in recent years and a true gentleman. Warrants a short standing ovation.
lcfcfan23 Posted 25 February 2014 Posted 25 February 2014 should be too good for them at home, especially if they come and attack. can see them pulling a forest and parking the bus then scrape a win
Thefoxman Posted 25 February 2014 Posted 25 February 2014 Kiss off death 5-0. Vardy 18,41, Nugent 27, Morgan 54, knockaert 68,
chrishlcfc Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 One of my worst memories of being a city fan that sticks in my mind I don't know why, was when Paddy Mcarthy scored a late equaliser for them after our fans had been shouting Leicester reject at him all game, it really did get on my nerves when he scored. anyway think we will win 3-0 on saturday with 2 for nuge and one for vardy and a crowd in excess of 30,000.
Aus Fox Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 I think Charlton are in a false position at the minute, they have played 2 or 3 less than those around them. I think this will be a tougher game than playing a bottom 3 side, they are also fighting for their lives and Chrissy P will have ten well motivated. Last weeks results shows they are capable of matching it with the best in the division. However home games in this division we should be looking to beat everyone. I am going for a 3-1 win, after allying behind early a Vardy hat Trick will save the day and have us 10 points clear with 13 to play.
LC/FC Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 As much as I love and respect Chris Powell as a person and professional it's about time he did us a favour and let us absolutely hammer them this season as a thank you present, especially after all the losses to him in recent years. Seriously... this one time. Won't ask you again next year. Promise!
sk3since03 Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 Id start with Mahrez in for Dyer for this one.. Chris Powell with tell his troops to stick 2 or 3 players on Dyer everytime he gets the ball rendering Dyer basically useless imo! Thats not me cristising Dyer because im a fan of him but CP will have him sorted from the first whistle. Plus id just like to see Mahrez given a start
ealingfox Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 Major switch-up just for the muscle-flexing Logan De Laet Moore Morgan Schlupp Knockaert Hammond King Mahrez Wood Phillips

But think it will be an unchanged side which tbh is fair enough.
weller54 Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 Give Dyer 45 minutes and see what happens.. If not performing again, then give Mahrez the 2nd half!
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 KS De laet Moore Morgan Schlupp Mahrez Drinkwater James Knockaert Vardy Nugent Let dyer have a bit of a break. He just needs something to click for him. Dyers pace is going to be very important when we are opening up the QPR/Reading/Burnley back line next month. Rather rest him now. Otherwise, 3-0 Vardy hat trick.
LAprice_ Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 I know it would never happen, but it would be brilliant to see Chris Powell take his 3 pre-match penalties against Logan. Ah, the memories...
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 On paper we should win hands down, but this is the sort of game we could slip up in.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 On paper we should win hands down, but this is the sort of game we could slip up in.Very true DTThink it will be a tight game Hope we win this game for my uncle Colin who died recently as he was a big City fan
Brooksy Posted 26 February 2014 Posted 26 February 2014 Could be potentially 13 points clear of 3rd but as we've learnt over the years Leicester City leave us shitting ourselves the majority of the time. Shock 2-1 defeat. They'll score a couple of screamers.

Shock 2-1 defeat. They'll score a couple of screamers. Genuinely think it won't be a shock defeat. They've been playing with resilience the past two games. We haven't beaten them in the past nine games as well I believe but that's besides the point. Going for a 1-1 draw. We'll nick it at the death with a controversial penalty.

Our record against them is irrelevant imo. Based on league position we are expected to win the game but there's always a shock every now and then.

SE7 Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Hi Chaps, Making my yearly appearance in time for saturdays game. Should be interesting, we've won our last two without being that great. Both were hard earned wins against two physical sides. The few occasions I've seen you on TV, i think your football has been fantastic, so will be interesting to see how we cope. Hoping our players don't have one eye on next Sunday, but I'm sure Powell will have them focused. Cousins and Poyet are our new CM partnership, both products of our fantastic academy. Poyet, despite only starting the last 3 games, has been something of a revelation. We've also had an influx of Standard Liege players, with Adjerevic being the pick of the bunch. He will line-up behind our lone striker i would imagine. Our biggest loss this season has been the injury to Chris Solly, who is a quality little full back. However, it doesnt really reflect with our goals against records, as we are quite hard to breakdown at times. Its the other end thats the problem, scoring goals. We've got a new Iranian international, however he's yet to score in 4 appearances. The Kermogant sale was also a big blow. Anyway, i think we will come for a draw and I'm hoping we get one. With our games in hand, anything from saturday will be a bonus. Hoping CP gets a good reception from your lot, as lets be honest, the guy is a living legend. Good luck for the rest of the season, bar saturday, and enjoy the Premiership.
