foxfanazer Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Hi Chaps, Making my yearly appearance in time for saturdays game. Should be interesting, we've won our last two without being that great. Both were hard earned wins against two physical sides. The few occasions I've seen you on TV, i think your football has been fantastic, so will be interesting to see how we cope. Hoping our players don't have one eye on next Sunday, but I'm sure Powell will have them focused. Cousins and Poyet are our new CM partnership, both products of our fantastic academy. Poyet, despite only starting the last 3 games, has been something of a revelation. We've also had an influx of Standard Liege players, with Adjerevic being the pick of the bunch. He will line-up behind our lone striker i would imagine. Our biggest loss this season has been the injury to Chris Solly, who is a quality little full back. However, it doesnt really reflect with our goals against records, as we are quite hard to breakdown at times. Its the other end thats the problem, scoring goals. We've got a new Iranian international, however he's yet to score in 4 appearances. The Kermogant sale was also a big blow. Anyway, i think we will come for a draw and I'm hoping we get one. With our games in hand, anything from saturday will be a bonus. Hoping CP gets a good reception from your lot, as lets be honest, the guy is a living legend. Good luck for the rest of the season, bar saturday, and enjoy the Premiership. Hi mateGood insightful post. Pleased for Chris Powell winning the last two games, hope he can keep his job. As you say he is a legend and seems a genuinely nice bloke. As for our chances on saturday, I think we should win (don't mean it in an arrogant or disrespectful way) but I expect you to set up solidly and try to spoil our play which I couldn't blame you for. Just happy you haven't got Kermo now Hope you have a good day except for the result and if you're having a pre match drink come in the counting house, usually a good mix of home and away fans in there
Mark_from_USA Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 Watched Charlton and QPR. Charlton didn't create too much, but they took their chances well enough (I count hitting both posts as pretty much taking a chance!). They were sitting pretty deep for most of the game, and they will do that here also. Leicester will not be able to get too many counter attacks because I don't see that many attacks coming. So they will need to create from midfield with their quality and pace. They will need to do more than the cross-fest that they did against Watford. I agree Charlton should be considered more like a mid-table side. A close 2-1 to Leicester for me.
weller54 Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 1-0 to us.. Burnley 3 Sheep 0...then we're 13 pts clear of 3rd.... Fat lady.. Start gargling!!!
Corky Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 If we win on Saturday we'll be only one point behind that Fulham side who ripped this division apart in 2001 after 33 games of the season. Remarkable.
ARM1968 Posted 27 February 2014 Posted 27 February 2014 2-1 Leicester. On paper relatively easy. In reality a bitch of a game.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Great respect for Chrissy Powell but let's beat these on Saturday Leicester win
fuchsntf Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Charlton to give us a fright, I got the ipswich game spot on....so I fancy a 4 -2 (1.0, 1.1, 2.1, 3.1, 3.2, 4.2) Yardy, Yardy, knokky, Wood. I ask the city faithfull to give C.Powell a wothy greating and round of applause. BURNLEY VS Derby , no idea, but hope for a draw, 2 points gained on two teams chasing is better as 0 n 3pts.
Out Foxed Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Hi Chaps, We've also had an influx of Standard Liege players, with Adjarevic being the pick of the bunch. He will line-up behind our lone striker i would imagine. Is no1 going to mention this? or has it been discussed? if he scores i'll cry.
Alexikokopops Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Is no1 going to mention this? or has it been discussed? if he scores i'll cry. Since he cut his hair he's dead to me. Such a waste.
Guest Col city fan Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Great respect for Chrissy Powell but let's beat these on Saturday Leicester win This..
Leicester_Numan Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 I'd go unchanged personally. Dyer's presence alone can put a defence on the back foot without him even doing a lot although someone made a good point about Powell knowing how to handle him - whilst he wouldn't have a clue about Mahrez. He would however, have a clue about Schlupp at left back without Dyer in front of him. If Mahrez starts, I'd expect Schlupp to be in for a bit of a battering
Happy Fox Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 How did Schlupp link up with Mahrez when he was on last Saturday? Or did NP switch wingers i.e knockaert was playing left Wing and Mahrez right?
Leicester_Numan Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Id start with Mahrez in for Dyer for this one.. Chris Powell with tell his troops to stick 2 or 3 players on Dyer everytime he gets the ball rendering Dyer basically useless imo! Thats not me cristising Dyer because im a fan of him but CP will have him sorted from the first whistle. Plus id just like to see Mahrez given a start Every extra man on Dyer is a man short elsewhere, he may be rendered ineffective offensively but he'll still be helping Schlupp and vise-versa.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Knocky would be Infront of schlupp if Mahrez started, which is good. You'd have the mixture of pace and technique on every wing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Leicester_Numan Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 How did Schlupp link up with Mahrez when he was on last Saturday? Or did NP switch wingers i.e knockaert was playing left Wing and Mahrez right? Mahrez has had to do no defending whatsoever whenever he's come on. Up till Forest, he had Konch behind him who covered his own position. We were down to 10 and going all out for an equaliser against a Forest team that had gone defensive anyway and against Ipswich, we were 2 up and they were demoralised and ineffective. He's still a defensive unknown and a risk in front of Schlupp if he starts down the left. Dropping Knockaert for him may not be a popular opinion but team-wise, would change virtually nothing defensively or in the way the team plays as a whole
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 I don't think Nigel is one for changing a winning side, I expect the same line up as started against Ipswich.
Unabomber Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 I think he will start Dyer and then bring Mahrez on at ht unless Dyer has played a blinder.
Stevosevic Posted 28 February 2014 Author Posted 28 February 2014 Doesn't look like a big crowd for this one, which is a shame. Don't know why the Ipswich game appealed more to people.

Cheaper prices I think?Just got my tickets earlier £28 each and I'm not even sitting where I wanted to (next block) as all the £22 tickets have sold out
absolutelegend Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 another 3 nil home win would be nice Knocky is due a goal
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 £28?? ****ing hell.I know it's frikkin criminal in my opinion
cc_star Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Cannot give them something to hang on to & then pick us off on the break like most of the recent 2-1 defeats If we score first we'll go on to win just fine, but if they score first then I can see history repeating
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 I think they will come and have a go at us, buoyed by their 2 recent wins they will not just be sitting back for a draw from the start. Be more of a test for us than Ipswich, who were useless. Or maybe we just made them look poor.
