But i am sure Burnley do not have the creative freedom and flair that we possess in our two young french wingers. Even the pace we possess that Burnley have nothing like ours. Leeds are a long way off and are certainly not going up in the next couple of seasons.
jonthefox Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Ie, stick with the manager. Or " please please don't sack me sob sob?.
Kitchandro Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 He might want to stop getting thrashed at home then.
maynefox Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Regardless that they don't have wingers who possess "creative freedom and flair", you can't really slate Burnley. Fair play to them, they deserve to be where they are. They've got an excellent team ethos and mentality; that goes a long way in this division (something QPR don't have!). I remember the side when we got into the play-offs in our first season back from League 1. That wasn't an amazing team, but the team ethos and the collective unity is what got us into a play-off place (IMO).
queensguardfox Posted 17 March 2014 Author Posted 17 March 2014 Exactly i think it will take more then a high scoring striker for them next season

Leeds are a long way off and are certainly not going up in the next couple of seasons. I think it's the pressing style of football that both of us play. We are different but our defending from the front and never giving the opposition a moments peace is what sets both of us apart. Vardy has been instrumental in this. Drinkwater has been phenomenal for us this season but i'm under no illusions that Vardy has been the difference. He's been unplayable.

Totally agree, happy for burnley and even as a leicester fan i'd love derby to go up next season! at least we can guarantee 6 points
Mark_w Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Ie, stick with the manager. Or " please please don't sack me sob sob?. I think any sensible Leeds fan would be saying that he needs to be given more than one season to get things right. We're a perfect example of why clubs shouldn't be so hasty to sack managers. Especially in McDermott's case, as he has a very good record at this level.

GingerrrFox Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 To be fair to Burnley, Kightly and Arfield are hardly bereft of attacking prowess.
Alex_LCFC Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Not a high scoring partnership like migrant and vardy Not a high scoring partnership like migrant and vardy Nugent predictive text
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Burnley possess the creative aspects of David Jones, Scott Arfield and Michael Kightly; whilst Kieran Trippier is phenomenal at providing that killer ball. They also have a decent defence marshalled by Mee and Shackell. Fair play to them and hope they come up with us
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 "It is not rocket science in this league". Plenty of teams have proved this very, very wrong.

Poiseuille Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Can see Leeds have tried with the Jan signings of Kebe and Stewert, who on paper are two very good wingers. Kebe's pace (Dyer?) and Stewerts trickery (Knocky?) to feed a goal hungry striker. Hasn't worked out though

Kebe's pace (Dyer?) and Stewerts trickery (Knocky?) to feed a goal hungry striker. Hasn't worked out though I don't think Kebe is awfully fast and Cameron Stewart has been on a steep, downward spiral since being at Hull and since we were interested.
Fox92 Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Strange how things revolve isn't it. When McDermott took Reading to the play off final, before winning the league with them, I'm guessing a lot of people wanted to copy his blue print/be in his position. Fair play to Burnley as well as ourselves. I'm not a fan of Dyche, but he's made them into a solid side. A lot of people probably thought they would float away, bit like what Blackpool did, but he's really overachieved there this season imo.
lgfualol Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 It is not rocket science in this league. They do what is required and have a fantastic team ethic and the manager has done a great job at BurnleyWhat about Nigel
brockmyster Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 One things for sure wouldn't want to be deciding who gets manager of the year, my bias head would say Pearson (if we continue on like expected) for the domination but Dyche has performed so well this season aswell, no one wouldve had Burnley to go up
MrSpaM Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Doesn't paint a great picture for yourself when you are basically admitting you got it completely wrong this season and your players have the wrong work ethic
TrentFox Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 He might want to stop getting thrashed at home then.Yeah ! I agree. He should pay and go to a dingy, seedy, little underground London room like the rest of us have to.
fuchsntf Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Exactly i think it will take more then a high scoring striker for them next season They wont have him next year, city will grab him up.
lancyclaret Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 McDermott made a big song and dance about bringing in wingers in January (Kebe and Stewart). He has already ditched this plan as the Leeds fans have destroyed Kebe and are not too impressed by Stewart. Stewart was rubbish on loan for Burnley last season but Charlton rated him.
