Corky Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Playing really well, very impressed, wonderful goal by Nugent, we've been pretty good in possession and are dealing well with their tactics. They are clearly missing the front two and Trippier but that's not our fault, we can only play against those selected. Should've had a penalty. Need to keep it going second half.
Kitchandro Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Knew Nugent would score today. Typical Nuge! We've been the better side but Burnley fans seem to think it's the ref's fault they're losing (despite the fact the only decent penalty appeal was ours). Vardy going off is a blow, hopefully he'll be back within a week or so. We've handled them well mainly, our only worry is some sloppy first touches which have caused potential dangers. I think the left side might be our weak link today. Dyche is getting his tactics wrong but we've tried to play our game properly and it's working. We're picking up most of the loose balls and passing it well. Like I said, we just need to improve our touch. Good tempo to the match.
Guest Col city fan Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 This game is there for the taking as long as we don't sit back. I was thinking exactly the same thing. We won't get a better chance than this.
Guest Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Are Vokes, Ings and Trippier out? Sky haven't said much Not sure. I'll have to check online.
surrifox Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 c'mon lads- haven't lost a second half all season away from home in the league - looking good
kingfox Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Not the best of games, but it was a great finish by Nuge, well held up from Wood as well. Morgan has been excellent, cutting everything out, that Burnley are playing up top, when the ball is in midfield, James has done well closing down, and cutting out balls as well. Mahrez bright early on, but tailed off as the half went on. Never over till it's over, but definitely not too bad so far.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Sky do mention there missing players but also mention our strength in depth is better which is true...
Kitchandro Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 got to keep using the wings and keeping the ball on the floor. Great goal and we should have had a peno. Burnley have been good with no finish. I'll feel better after we score our THIRD! Really? A couple of good crosses yes, but they've had no chances and we have had more possession. I think we've looked more likely from the word go and they look a bit toothless without Ings and Vokes.
Matt Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Playing well, much better than the last 2 or 3 games! Looking good. Burnley don't look anything special, certainly don't look like the home team. We need to get an early 2nd and we've won, if we conceade early it's back in the balance (Obviously).
bluesbrothers Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Great first half, always gonna be under the kosh and despite a couple of nervy touches from Schlupp and Was, we've been brilliant in negating any threat Burnley have made, and Wood has proved an excellent substitution, since we were needing a bit more muscle in attack. Mahrez had a great start, and as he's drifted out of the game Knocky has taken up the mantle. I can't fault our wing play - it speaks more for Burnley's tight defence that we can't break through as often as we'd like, and it was always going to take a moment of quality to break the deadlock - and bugger me if the ever-industrious Nugent didn't go and provide it!As the game goes on, we're going to have to tighten the screw in midfield while retaining an attacking threat to prevent their danger men in Kightly and Stanislas from getting any sort of flow together, so the two subs to bring on would have to be Hammond and Taylor-Fletcher, defensive bookings permitting. I can't wait for the second half.
weller54 Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Still be happy with a draw though.. A win is a real Brucie Bonus!!!...
Jordan Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 In addition to keeping possession well, Leicester are doing a great job pressing and tackling everywhere on the pitch to get the ball back. Dyche may not have set his team up well to deal with Leicester's midfield, but his back four have been in great position, have held their line, and have dealt with crosses well. Wood needs to keep battling and getting stuck on them with his back to goal just like he did to set up Nugent.
TomFox85 Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Awesome goal from Nuge! Worried about arrr Vaardy though. Great half of football. It's almost like watching two Premiership teams.
Guest Col city fan Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 I'm assuming Dyche will push Stanislas up top.
Japanfox Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Excellent so far. Come on the foxes, let's put a bit of a gap between them and us ....
Tielemans63 Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Are Vokes, Ings and Trippier out? Sky haven't said much
AKCJ Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 Will all those silly people who still like to have a pop at David Nugent PLEASE stop it. It's boring.... He was poor before his goal but since then he's been inspired. He goes through patches where he's a passenger, there is no denying that. However, he often pops up with a bit of magic that gets us points. That's what he brings to the side. No matter how frustrating he can be, he's a match winner.
Vacamion Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 We were the better side 1st half, but you can see that Burnley are rightly near the top of the league. A point or more here (hopefully more) would be great. COYB

TJB-fox Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 I don't think Goodman and Beagrie love the teams we play, I think they just ****ing hate us! Whether its qpr, Burnley, leeds or bloody Accrington Stanley we play they always stick their tongue up their arses
